Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

We finished most of the packing last night with the girls visiting a friend's house for dinner. Shhhhhh. It's still a surprise. Well, actually by now that cat may be out of the bag. When they walked out the door for school this morning, we handed them their first clues to the scavenger hunt they will be doing at school, revealing more clues along the way.

So I took the day off to finish last minute packing and gathering, but Joann had real work so won't be home until close to the time we are being picked up for the airport. Really wanted to stay at five checked bags for the five of us, but we have overflow into bag number six. I forgot that formalware would take up a whole bag for us. But that's ok, since we are allowed 2 bags each flying from Africa.

Guess we'll see some of you at the pub/restaurant on Friday night. Safe travels, everyone!

Hi everyone ... arrived safe and sound in London! Our flight was an hour delayed, but flight went smooth after that. Customs and security was a breeze at both ends. We were met by the driver (Silver Line) and it went great. Had a nice nap in the car! We've checked into the Maison Dieu and the room looks nice. Going to go out for a walk ... don't want to sleep any longer. Must stay awake!

I have sent out a bunch of spreadsheets. My intention was to make a nice looking one to give to folks... well, that didn't happen.

If anyone is not excel savvy and needs some help tonight, just let me know.

The last update to the roster is done. I fly out to London tomorrow! I checked in for the flight and it is PACKED! There were only 2 open seats on the entire plane. I was even going to look at paying extra for the legroom seats, but even those were gone. And I checked in for the flight just as it opened up.

Weather is not going to be that great, but we will make do. We are on vacation! A little rain won't hurt.

Debbie
We are in Cabin 6130. Can't believe it's finally here.

We're here, toured London today, off to Dover bright and early tomorrow morning! See you all on the ship!!

I know that many of you are on your way, but I thought I'd post it for those who are checking in...

I posted this on the thread of those sailing before you and didn't hear back from anyone, so I'd love some Dis assistance. :)

Have a wonderful time! Enjoy the Magic!!!

I have a HUGE Dis favor request....

I was on the TA in May and fell in love with a lemon quartz ring in Treasure Ketch. I am regretting not purchasing it and would like to buy it now that I'm off the ship. It was the only lemon quartz ring they had, I believe. It has diamonds around it and is set in white gold or silver?? I'd love to know if it's still on the ship. My friend is sailing on the 24th and she could buy it for me, if it's available.

Many thanks! :flower3:

If you could PM the price, that would also be helpful!

I was on the WB PC in '08 and EB TA in April--Dis'ers can vouch for me that I am not a fake. :)

Please PM with any info and price, if it's still there. Thanks a bunch!!!

still here and still packing ;-) Went into Canterbury yesterday and today and wondered if any of the sightseers were fellow cruisers?! See you soon, Kit

She's almost here! :yay:

See you all tomorrow. :goodvibes

Have a great trip, we will wave you off on Saturday, the Magic is way up from that now, past Brighton.

Whhoooo hoooo! So exciting! :yay:

Where will you be watching from Andrew? I had though the White Cliffs but hoping to send my dad to get some good photos of/ for us and don't know if that is just a bit too far away?

Kit

for those of you that are meeting at cullins yard...let us know how it is!!!!

Hello all from Dover. Just got back from Cullen's Yard. The food was good to me. I had the Creole Chicken penne ... a little spicy .. almost bought tears to my eyes.. which means I liked it. My daughter originally ordered it, but found it too spicy for her, so we switched. The service was a little on the slow side, but that could have been due to the size of our party. There were 16 of us!

We'll be there!

Does anyone happen to know if we will be able to easily catch a taxi cab after dinner here? Heading back to our hotel in Folkestone, which is not too far away. Thanks for any input! :)

P.S. sorry for popping in on this meet thread, but I thought the folks who have already been there, might be able to answer my question! We are adoringly reading anything by you Inaugural Baltic Cruisers! :)

I've not eaten there but I'm sure if you ask a member of staff there they will call a cab for you.
Kit

Have a wonderful time everyone

So sorry I couldn't make it :(

Claire ;)

Sail away was quite chillly. Joanne and her family were selected as the family of the day and got to be first on board. Heading now to Oslo, day at sea tomorrow. More on my blog....

Hi! I'll be on the next cruise and am enjoying your blog and spotted the "on board the plane" photo. Since you mentioned the US Airways Club, is that the new USAirways Envoy cabin?
