Here now, 50s section building 3 facing lake! Sunday I was able to check in early (noonish) this place was a mad house. The food court was not happening for me that's for sure. Today it's much quieter as expected, the line for MK bus this morning was insane (glad I was going to HS) but other than that it feels slower/less busy than when I came in May.

I decided a few weeks ago to change my reservations for POR to come back to pop instead. 1 because it saved me $168 and 2 because I simply love pop. I don't need fancy amenities or to feel like I'm at a "resort" I'm barely at the hotel and when I am I just ask for a fridge, clean room and a decent tub to soak in! Pop provides me all of these things and for a fairly decent price. (Granted you buy in discount times)

If I had to complain about anything it would be that I wish the fridge was a LITTLE bigger. I do have a cooler on hand that I've been refilling with ice for extra stuff that doesn't fit in the fridge so not a big deal to me. Really my only complaint and for those doing most of their eating here on property it would be pretty irrelevant. For me I am bringing in a lot of groceries as a way to save a little money as I will be transferring to universal Wednesday-Saturday to attend Halloween Horror Nights.

Overall Pop is a fantastic hotel, It has my favorite gift shop and the atmosphere is GROOVY

Checked in yesterday... Had done online check in. My 2 requests- 1st floor and 70s. Upon check in, I received 1st floor and 50s. My reason for always avoiding online check in was the fear of not getting what I wanted...so I had the moment of- but I always stay in the 70s and that is what I requested. Cast member quickly pointed out how I was still close to everything and that the resort is sold out this week!:scared1: I decided to keep the 50s and have been pleased with the section. Have not spent much time at the resort but if the rain keeps up that may change!

We've been here just under a week now and it has been busy but we are hardly in the resort, which is why we stay in values. It is 10pm and we are just getting to the room now, this is also the earliest we have ever been back and we are at rope drop every morning. We have 90s section, 3rd floor and it is super quiet! Loving every minute! We got our requests met (we have 2 rooms) and are overall very satisfied.

We had a great time at POP. We were spoiled by the buses for sure. We had an ADR at another resort and used their buses to get to DHS and it sucked. I love the lines for the buses at POP, the wait, the fact that they arrive empty, and head straight to their destination.

We were in the 80's building, close to transportation as requested. Couldn't have picked a better spot. The employees were, great. Left our iPads out and souvenirs, never had anything touched.

The food court was great, food was so good, and the cashiers did their job efficiently. When ordering, they were always nice to me. The guests were a little hard to deal with in the refrigerated section. At one point in time I sent my daughter to close 2 open fridge doors with no one around them.

I love the music they play and the decor. It felt like it was done just for DH and I.

I got the bounce back offer for my mom and I at POP. It didn't work the first time I called and waisted a little park time doing it. Called back that night and paid my deposit and it all worked out. Can't believe it was 11 years since I had been and now I'm going back next year. My daughter said, "we won't be back next year, but the year after". Eek, hope I can convince my DH to let that happen. He would rather go to Maine.

To follow up all our stuff was fine. We have been pleased so far with housekeeping. We were less than impressed with whoever is in charge of kids bed rails. We had them requested on our reservation. Arrived at hotel at 8. No rails. Called down said they would bring some up. Never arrived. Kids had to sleep up against us bc we were afraid they would fall off. Also our flight arrived at 6:30 and we didn't get our luggage until after 11. Not sure what the standard is at pop but at French quarter they are always in our room waiting when we arrive. We are only on day three of our trip so I'll have to report back later on how the rest of our trip goes.

We just checked out after 7 nights. Here is my review. We were 4th floor of 70s lake side and loved location. We saw frozen fireworks from our room every night. We left lots of iPads and Mac laptops out and never had anything touched or stolen. Coming from a moderate I actually thought the beds were fine. Smaller but comfortable. Our room was SO quiet it was wonderful. We really just slept at the resort didn't spend much time but the decor was great, staff friendly, everything was nice and clean. We were pleased with buses although we did think the ride home felt long every night but that is to be expected given hotel location. We really disliked the dinners there. Breakfast was fine. Snacks were great, my husband loved the huge cookie sundae and got one a night:). Overall we would stay here again especially for the price.

Okay Pop Disers!

I can't find where to do online checkin on MDE!
I thought it was in the menu area or thru the reservation section but I can't find it anywhere. I'm sure that's where it was when I did online checkin back in July! Any help would be appreciated. TIA

It should show up on your home page next to your POP Century ressie. When do you arrive? I know there is a window you can do it in. I arrive on Thursday and mine is still available.... :confused3

That's what I thought too! I didn't find it so I used a link in an email and it worked. Thanks for your help!

I have 2 reservations, first is a 1-night room-only ressie, then have a package ressie starting the next day for the rest of my stay with tickets and dining on it. If I added a day to my park tickets, can I get my Park tickets a day earlier if I ask at my initial check-in, or would they refer me to one of the Parks?? Just wondering so I can better judge my ADR times.

So excited! I just booked a quick surprise trip with my 6 yr old. We have annual passes for the first time and we have a full family trip planned at Boardwalk for Thanksgiving, but Spirit had 44 each way flights in October so I decided to make a "mom and me" trip for Halloween. The last time we did MNSSHP he was a baby so he will love it! Anyway, we booked POP since I got needed a good deal for a last minute trip. I have never stayed here before and I am looking forward to it :)

We just returned from Pop 2 days ago and 2 changes took place during our stay that I thought were worth noting:

1. The hair dryers that are attached to the wall and have a nightlight on them were removed. The location where they were attached to the wall was covered over with a plastic plate. A new, very efficient hair dryer was left in a bag on the counter. Works SO much better although for those who used the nightlight on the dryer, you might want to think of something else. Glow sticks worked well for us!

2. They are removing the carpeting in the food court and replacing it with a patterned black and blue tile. So much more sanitary as I can only imagine how many things have been spilled on that carpet over the years!

In this pic you can see the new flooring below us and the old carpeting in the section behind us.

Good to know! Perhaps we will finally be able to leave our big hair dryer at home next month. Does this mean there is no outlet on the wall between the vanity area and bathroom?

I don't remember there being a nightlight on the dryers before, but we always bring our own nightlight (I hate stumbling around a strange hotel room in the dark during the night) and never used the dryers they provided. We unplugged it and used our own dryer.

Does anyone know if you can request a fan at checking? We are heading back to pop in two days and it would be one less thing to pack.

Thanks!

There is still an outlet there. The wall plate will be next to it.

Does anyone know what the outdoor evening movies are for October at PC? I googled it and checked all the usual suspects but they are only posting September's movie schedule.
Also, are they serving Joffrey coffee at the food court? Is it good? grin...
Thanks in advance

New hairdryer?!?! I'm here now and have been since Saturday and we still have a hairdryer on the wall. Normally I don't use it but with all the rain I've had to dry my shoes a couple of times.

Which building were you in with the new hairdryers?

New hairdryers are being phased in as they did with the mini fridge. We have 2 rooms and have been here for almost 2 weeks. Only 1 room has the new fan and the other has the older fan.
