2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Well...with Southwest releasing sale fares this week, I called to add a day to our trip as well. Would you believe that by adding a day on to our trip we are actually spending LESS then what we would had we left the day before and paid the higher airfare? I was able to book roundtrip for my family of 5 from Philadelpiha-Orlando for $730 and because it is SW, checked and carryon luggage is included! Because of free dining, we are paying for the room, and a minimal amount to addon another park day and then of course tips, but it saves about $87 over the original bottom line! Woot! Love when Disney math works out! Who'd have thought it would cost LESS to stay an extra day! Mickey here we come!!!

That's awesome!......off to do some disney math :teacher: I don't like the price of the flights I'm looking at.

got some more pixiedust: yesterday! we were happily staying at Pop with free dining, but today a standard became available at CBR and since we were upgraded to the deluxe dining plan the difference to switch was only $300. Im super excited because my girls will love the kids pirate pool area and i will be happy with a little bit bigger beds and rooms! Im so excited to try out CBR, I hope we love it.

we were originally flying OUT on a Tuesday and home on a Monday, and added it to Tuesday....guess lots of people take Monday as a travel day so flights are higher than Tuesday's.....$73 versus $129 x5? Worth it to add that day!

Southwest made my daughter and her BF lose a day:( It opened at 6:00 Thursday with $450 Per person just for the flight back the Sunday after thanksgiving. One of the busiest travel days of the year, so I guess I should have seen it coming. So I had to book them Saturday night instead which was $230 cheaper per person. We are driving so we are staying till Sunday. Plus Disney won't take that night off of their room so it's still costing me.

Disney math....they should have given that class in school huh? I do more Disney math than anyone I know. I would have aced that class! :rotfl:

I booked with Southwest as soon as the rates came out. Within 15 minutes, the flight for my daughter and her family were $ 200.00 more. It is costing them $ 1800.00 to fly round trip out of Manchester NH (family of 5). But....they are returning the Sat. after Thanksgiving. Those rates are way up on that day right now....$ 460.00+ just on the return flight. But we are satisfied with the fare we did get because the $ 460.00 one way would have put them way over budget. They are over budget as it is...but the mother (me) is helping them out!

Question about booking ADR's. Do I go into my Disney Experience, and go to my reservations and itinerary, then click on the dining reservations tab? Does it make a difference on where to go to book? I went in yesterday just to check out how the site works and when I went into the Dining Reservations tab at the top of the site, I tried looking to see what was available right now for folks going into the site, everything was booked, no matter what I tried. So I'm thinking, because I just went in under the general tab, not my specific tab, it doesn't work that way. Please....need some help. My ADR opening is Friday!

As long as you're signed in, it doesn't matter how you get there, just as long as you get there. :) I've gone into dining reservations through the link under MDE and just gone through under the "things to do" tab. Both of them worked just fine.

If you don't get what you want Friday, keep trying! Things open up all the time. :)

Thanks! Wish me luck in the trenches!

I might be not understanding your question on looking at reservations but wanting to make sure to emphasize that if you are not logged into your myexperience it will not let you look at reservations past 180 days. That happened to me and I couldn't figure out why since I was staying on resort.
Also if you are not seeing anything for right now, it might be because this could be a more peak season, especially with a long weekend coming up.

I know I had not reservations at one point but because I was past 180 days I could see all kinds of ADR options so I booked some and then adjusted after the fact when things were super busy. And I'm sure some that I cancelled made someone happy.

Good luck. I'll be waiting for a full report. :)

Not sure if this was posted but if I am getting free Quick Service plan how much of an upgrade would it cost per night for the regular dining plan and the deluxe dining plan from the QS? Thanks and sorry again if this was posted somewhere already!

You just pay the difference in price between the two plans. We upgraded the free QSDP to the DDP and it came out to be about $13pp/day.

What is the difference for both DDP and DXDP?
DDP is 1 TS, 1 QS, and 1 snack per night.
DxDP is 3 credits (any combination TS,QS,signature) and 2 snacks per night.
This is the first time I will be using the DDP because of FD, so that is as much information I have researched so far. I hope it helps :thumbsup2

I was just checking out the site. I was signed in. I looked at the calendar just to see what was available the week before I am going. Very few openings anywhere. No openings at any of the restaurants I want to eat at. So.....tomorrow is my booking day....so we shall see how it goes! I am setting my alarm!
