Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hey all, hoping someone can help me out. I booked a standard view room at the BC for this weekend. I went to MDE and it says Lagoon or Pool View. I can't afford that category and why did they change it without my knowledge? Thanks, Cindy

I believe you may have been upgraded without extra charge. They should not be expecting you to pay more as they allowed you to book a standard room. I'd check at the desk but sounds like you're luck is in :)

Any tips for those of us staying at the Beach Club with kids?
Do you bring your own sand toys for Stormalong Bay? Are there any special activities for teens or little ones?
Lots to do for the kids. Check page one of this thread for the link to the activities schedule and you will see what I mean. Lot of pails usually left around the beach from others that have left them behind so unless you have special beach toys I wouldn't waste the packing space.

Then again, I may just walk in tonight and quit immediately, in an effort to fulfill my life's dream of becoming a Jungle Cruise boat captain at WDW.

When you posted this, all I could think of is the video for "Skipper Dan" (driver on the Jungle Cruise ride) by Weird Al Yankovic. You have probably seen it, but if not, check it out!

If you want something beyond a pail and shovel (which are usually readily available in the sand areas of SAB), then you should pack a couple of small things.

Tubes have been readily available for the lazy river. Some people bring their own pool noodles or if they make a Walmart stop, purchase them there. When I was in the Marketplace at BC in August the noodles were priced at $4.95

There are lots of activities in the volleyball area of Stormalong Bay throughout the day- check out the schedule on Page 1, Post 4 of this thread to see if any of the activities would appeal to your kids.

:welcome: to this forum!

As others have indicated, if a room category is oversold and you are involuntarily upgraded to a different category, you do not have to pay the difference in the room prices.

Please keep in mind that up until the time you check in, it is possible that it could change, but wishing you some pixie dust for a better view!!!

Hope you have an amazing trip!

I posted something for you above

Have a fantastic trip!

:woohoo:

Sitting in the YC lobby drinking my, um, I guess it's coffee. We've had a fun, relaxed trip so far. Many plans have gone out the window. My DD11 (Katie) finally worked up her nerve to ride ToT yesterday!! The verdict is still out on whether she liked it or not. Too nervous to tell, I guess.

BC rooms are really pretty. Some theming is gone, but they are elegant and comfortable. CMs here are great! Love this resort more each time we stay.

If anyone has questions I can answer, please just ask.
Mary

As others said, Pixie Dust has been sprinkled. But never worry, you pay for what you booked, Period. No matter what upgraded rooms you are put in.

You can take me off the list. We ended up switching over to AKL due to the discounts released this week and the saving at AKL couldn't be passed up (saved us $1500).

We have never done so. There are always extra pails and shovels hanging around the 'sand beach' in the pool closest to YC. If you want your own, I believe if you buy a kids' meal at Hurricane Hanna's, it comes in a sand bucket. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is still the case?
