Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

I know that the Disney dining plan is not valid at the Dolphin, but can you use Disney gift cards or the Disney visa reward redemption card at the restaurants there? I'm guessing not, but thought I'd see if anyone knows for sure.

If you read the first page of this thread, you already know that the casual S&D restaurants offer a 20% discount to AAA members. The signature restaurants give the same discount with TiW. Sometimes, though not recently, I’ve seen Shula’s put 20% off offers online.

I’ve posted this before, but I’ll say it again—the Cabanas pool bar serves an awesome lobster roll and skirt steak sandwich. Their frozen drinks run $10, but for $2 more you can get a floater, which is a shot of rum on top. Well worth it IMO.
 
so he called last week,and was told to wait 24 hours from call..tried again and it didn't work! Who should he call for this problem? Disney IT or Dolphin? I feel bad right now as the rest of the fam had no issues inputting this at all.
Ok,so I got the info needed to check in on MDE for him- They have 2 separate res. back to back,(he and his wife have different surnames) the tickets are bought and in MDE under the proper names, but it won't take the 2 Dolphin res. #'s!!! I tried using a zero ahead of them (one is 8 digits, the other is 9 digits) and nothing. I got a dropdown list to choose a hotel upon entering #,and the date,and assoc. phone number- and then the page saying they can't locate this reservation!!!!! First of all, I didn't get that dropdown menu when I did did mine a few months back,is this new, or a glitch? 2nd, what phone number are they looking for, his personal #,or the dolphin?

The request to enter addtional info for a reservation that can't be located is not new. Entering that additional info has never worked for me.

Have you tried contacting Disney's website support, yet?

I'm going to do this,on their behalf- Uggggg why is the ONE MDE acct that glitches this trip the person who hates all things tech to begin with??? Ugggg of course the rest of our group had no problems. I think I'll cal tomorrow since I called the hotel and they did a 'resend' (again) and said to wait 24 hrs.....(sigh)

I had to call Costco travel yesterday to get the correct confirmation number to enter. It wasn’t the hotel confirmation number on my email from them. The woman I spoke to at Costco told me I could only get the number by calling Costco. She knew exactly what to do. It worked fine after that.

I had trouble linking my two room reservations at Dolphin that were purchased as a costco pkg. too, drop down menu + date didn't work. I think in hindsight my trouble had more to do with timing (trying too soon) than anything else but... I did call Disney guest services who escalated my issue to a tech support person who was able to finally link mine over. It was stressful and seemed like it should have been a whole lot easier. Disney GS told me to call Dolphin to get a conf # diff from the costco #... Dolphin told me I had to wait 5 days. Waited 5 days, got the #s from Dolphin but MDE wouldn't accept so called Disney GS again, talked to 2 diff people who told me it was impossible to link a costco ressie to MDE :sad2: which I knew from people here that was not a true statement. One person even said I forfeited the right to 60 day FP because I purchased costco!:furious: Kept asking for "a supervisor" was finally told my case would be escalated to a tech supervisor who would contact me in 24 hours. About 4 hours later it was all properly in my MDE account and I did receive an email the next day from the tech supervisor. :rolleyes1

Sheesh! I hope the OP gets it all worked out. I was super appreciative for the advice and suggestions I got on this thread!

What a great thread! We are booking our first trip to Disneyworld through Costco Travel. We have chose the dolphin since we are a family of 5 with 3 kids, (17,13,6). I called the dolphin direct to price check it and the hotel was $3k for 8 nights. We are getting 8 nights plus tickets for 7 days through Costco for $3700. Which leads my husband to ask “why? What’s going on at that hotel lol”. Is the dolphin a good hotel for our family for our first trip to WDW (we are Disneyland veterans and I used to work there). We are going in mid-June for my sons graduation trip, a little worried about the heat and the crowds. Thanks again for sharing all your tips and experiences. I appreciate it!
Nothing's going on at the hotel. It's cheaper because Costco has a group block of rooms. Some agencies do the same with Disney. It's all about buying the rooms in bulk. And S/D rooms can be had at a bargain other ways if you find the right promo at the right time (convention guest, nurse or teacher rate, email promos, etc).

We are not a package, booked on points through SPG. The dropdown worked for me this week after I added the leading zero. This may sound simple but get him to print out the reservation confirmation and you look at it to enter the guest name, phone number and everything exactly as you see it written there. There may be a typo or something.

The last time we stayed at Dolphin (2016) I had to call and have the kids and I added to the names on the reservation before I linked the MBs in MDE. This time I was able to link DD10, DD13, and myself to placeholders that did not list the guest names. It let me proceed with linking us all without making that phone call. So now it shows our 4 MDE icons associated with that reservation. Will my FP selection day go smoothly if I've made it this far? Or do I still need to call the hotel?

I was able to do the same. Once it shows the right names, you are good. I never had to make a call

That stinks. I booked thru SPG and had no issues with the res # they have. I just looked again and it's a 9 digit number on my SPG res, and the same number in MDE (no zero in mine). Can you log into his SPG account to double check info for typos as someone suggested?
 
WDW Dolphin is my favorite resort in all of WDW. The restaurants are diverse and good, the place is impressive to the eye, you get EME just like the Disney-owned properties, the cost is but a fraction of the Boardwalk and Y/B Club right next door and the location is excellent for EPCOT/HS. Love the atmosphere and everything about it. If I'm going to be on-site, I'll never stay anywhere else.

Yep,I did, the 8 digit # is actually 9,it hs a zero at the beginning...that said after a lengthy call to DIsney IT, they got one of the res. #'s in the MDE,(ironically,the one with the zero added) the other is a 'wait 48 hrs' thing again. I have NO idea why it won't take this one number but it's happening.(again,dis tech hates me) so I'm hoping against hope it takes it tomorrow or I'll have to call again.So far, fam group, 5 out of 6 res. #'s input easily.

FWIW, this acct (my brother) has issues anyway.... it's his, but I can log in/see what's up. no matter HOW many times I go in and change his 'friend' status with my acct to 'shared plans only' I can still see his tickets etc on my page. Ugh. I'll leave all that alone if I can just get the room input. our 60 day mark is coming up soon,and now I'm stressing.

I have a Costco package (Dolphin) and was having trouble with the numbers, but I called WDW technical services and they were able to link my reservation and tickets to my MDE in about 10 minutes.

I usually have bad luck with everything. I'm THAT guy.
I had absolutely no issues at all with any of my Costco package numbers. I plugged everything in, and everything worked exactly how it was supposed to. Smooth as silk.

My reservation wouldn’t link with the Disney confirmation code, but when I put Costco’s confirmation in it linked.....good luck.

That AAA discount really does help. I'll give a plug to Pikabu, where my wife and I use that AAA discount religiously. It adds up over the entire stay of a visit. Any time you can get a discount at WDW - take it.
