Do they post the monthly activities calendar anywhere? Looking for movies and campfire times for next month.

Is there a particular reason you want to take a Minnie Van to MK? We caught a bus at around 7 for EMM and were easily in line by 7:30. It’s a very quick ride to MK. I’d save the $20 unless you have a specific reason you don’t want to take the bus.
We stayed at POR 3 years ago and had bad experiences with the buses. We had to wait forever, they were crowded and unpredictable. Plus it was a pain for one of us to carry on the double stroller and the other to hold the diaper bag and whatever else we had plus the kids on a very crowded bus. and this time we have 3 kids (7,5 and 18 months) Idk- I just thought the Minnie van would be easier. But maybe early in the morning it will be ok. Thanks for sharing your experience. Are the busses from WL generally on time and are they crowded?

When we went to EMM and got on the bus so early, there was only 1 other family on the bus with us. The buses aren’t crowded at that hour.

(I totally do feel your pain on the buses...we usually drive to the parks, but it didn’t make sense to drive to MK from WL.)

The issue that you’ll run into with the Minnie Vand is that the Minnie Van only provides 2 car seats. You won’t have the booster you need for your 7 year old unless you bring one.

I understand your pain. We have 4 kids 8 and under. One trip we even had 4 kids 5 and under! Anyhow we avoid the buses and always drive. But this trip at WL we will take the boat to MK except at RD. Our one RD morning we have 8am BOG (it's an EMM morning) we plan to take a boat to CR around 645 or 7 then walk to MK. Maybe this is an option for you?

I believe Florida law only requires booster or car seats for under 6.

Many (most? All?) states car seat laws aren’t in line with what is safe. For instance, in my state, it’s legal to forward face a 1 year old. That’s totally unsafe. My son is 2 years, 3 months, and is still rear facing.

The great majority of kids need to be in a booster until age 8-12 for safety reasons.

Just as an FYI, it’s a toss-up whether or not you’ll get a boat that you can roll the stroller onto. On some of the boats, you have to fold the stroller and haul it on. The boat is a more scenic and pleasant ride, but the times that we had to fold the stroller, we didn’t find it any more “convenient” than the bus.

Sorry didn't want to bring up safety opinions on this thread, just wanted the PP to know their options.

Yes we have been on the boats before and are fully aware of this possibility.

There’s a lot of science behind car seat safety...it’s not opinions.

Personally, I wouldn’t ever advise someone to do something unsafe, regardless of what the law says.

Actually the only advice I gave was to take the boat to CR then walk to MK, so please can we leave it at that?

I was simply stating a fact about Florida car seat law and honestly not trying to offend or upset anyone. My time on these boards is limited and often my posts are short and to the point so I am sorry if i came across as confrontational with my first quote. Will you please forgive me if that's what happened?

No offense taken, at all!

On my side, I was clarifying (or at least attempting to) why I didn’t cite the law.

I admit I tend to be rather direct. It’s just my style. It’s hard to convey tone in writing.

I hope the person we were originally trying to help feels more confident in taking Disney transport (whether it be bus or boat). I think we clearly agree that they can have a successful trip to MK using Disney’s transportation system!

Oh good! Glad you understand. Have a good night!

We’ve had several stays at POR - all 10-14 day stays and aside from maybe 1 morning each trip where it seemed like 3 of each bus except ours went by the bus transportation was great. I think every resort pretty much has the same service, and service can vary depending on the time of year. We’ve always gone during low seasons. But this year we went to WDW early Dec and I noticed resort wide longer bus waits then I’ve ever experienced.

Our boys ages 8 and 6 will be sleeping on the pullout at BRV in a few weeks. From what I have read they seem to be ok for kids.
Our boys, then 3 & 5, were fine. They’ll be on it again for many years to come as we are now BRV owners.

I have heard an egg crate can be requested though.

We're staying in BR for the first time this June - since we're considered a "cash" guest (by not renting/using points) and I know we'll get mousekeeping daily, but does that include the mini shampoo, conditioner, soap?

Thanks!

If you paid cash to Disney Reservation Center, you get a daily full cleaning. If you paid cash to DVC, you are treated like a points stay; your room is serviced every four days.

Apologies if this has been brought up ad nauseum, but does anyone know the availability of king beds at WL these days? We have reservations set for late October, and I’d definitely like a king bed as I’m on the larger side, and I’d like both myself and my wife to feel comfortable.
