DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Happy Tuesday gentlemen. Lots of running around today and hopefully it will be productive.

So I have something to put out there. Just for advice/opinions/a shoulder to cry on. Not sure what really.
Anyway, over the weekend oldest DD, who has just turned 18, told us that she wants to go to Montreal this summer with her friends (5 of them) to go to a music festival for 6 days...

Just to weigh in, if she is paying for it and is doing well otherwise, you should let her go. I'd echo a lot of what other guys have said.

4 days away for this guy. Can't come soon enough.

Make that 3 days. See you are getting another nor'easter hitting the east coast so I imagine you are ready to get out of there.

Thanks, went well. A lot of information in a short time, but I have already mentioned a couple of areas where I could help and my new boss is thrilled!

That is great news. Always interesting when you walk into a new place.

Thanks. Went very well. Hope you're not too depressed at being back. Post trip blues is a real thing.

Not too bad being back except that the cold I had all during the cruise seems to worse and we are waiting on a big storm to start later today and run through tomorrow night. Might have to pack it in early today.

Good luck with the snow and your cold. I hope you have what it takes to make french toast...

Let’s got to DC on spring break, it’ll be fun, we can see our daughter, take in the sites… Until the wind is howling at 20-30 mph bringing wind chills into the low 20’s while on the top steps of the Lincoln Memorial. We aren’t at DaWorld why?

Actually great to see DD and SIL but the weather here has been a @$&*=#$. Have a good Wednesday gents.

If it's any consolation, the weather here (much further south than DC) has been horrible too...below freezing each night.

Yup. I get sick of the snow by December, so these last couple storms are really pissing me off.

I'm going to officially diagnose this group with Spring Fever.

Afternoon Guys.

Storm day here for all of us. We lost power around 3 am and it cam back on just past noon. Had about 18 inches of wet snow overnight with lots of high winds. We had a tree come down across the end of our driveway but the snowplow managed to move it into the ditch. Just glad it fell that way otherwise it would have been on my car. Looking at another 6 to 8 inches today. This time last week I was laying on the beach in Grand Cayman. sigh!

Hope all the NE guys are doing OK.

Happy Wednesday. My FB feed is blowing up with posts about the new parking fees at WDW. I always like that ones that say $100 more for parking means I'm never staying there again. I don't like paying $ either, but people drop more that on a meal of burgers there.

I'm going to officially diagnose this group with Spring Fever.

And the treatment is a trip to WDW.

I thought the same thing. It's a small portion of what a total trip there costs you anyways...

I think asking resorts guests to pay for parking is a bit much but then again I have only had a car there once. It's not like the have a shortage of parking spaces available and the resorts are priced at a premium as it is.

It always goes way too fast, doesn't it?

It kind of ticks me off. I think it's more of a cumulative effect of raising prices and charging for more and more items or premium "experiences" every year. This comes across as a naked money grab, so it's a turnoff. I'm already paying a premium to stay onsite, now I'm paying even more for the privilege.

I WANT!

Ugh. Yeah. Enough.

Even though I can't comment on the weather down here, yesterday was the second coldest day of the year. I move that we all head to WDW to join Paul and his family. Pretzels and beer for everyone.

Stay safe man and everyone else in the storm's path.

It is nickel and diming us and it is ridiculous. Luckily I own DVC.

No, I can't wait to get back home from vacation. NOT.

I hadn't heard this.
Is that $100 flat rate per stay? Or is that based on an average length?

And... agreed... seems a bit much. Unless you're offering covered and/or valet. Then maybe? Or... free at Values, nominal at Mods and more at Deluxes? You pay nothing for parking (usually) at a Best Western... but you will (usually) at a Hilton.
