Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I agree 100% the CM's are what make the BWI Club level amazing. They are the main reason we have stayed there for four straight years. Glad you had a great time and got to experience our "home" resort.

Thank you! I can see why BWI is your "home" resort. It is one resort that has the most (that I have seen) positive reviews, one right after another and now I see why that is. Everything about our stay was perfect and I can't wait to start planning a return trip! :goodvibes

Just got back last night from 5 days at BWI CL (had to do a last minute reschedule from our May dates). I absolutely LOVED it!!! Everything about it was great, from the food to the CMs to the atmosphere. Breakfast consisted of danishes, croissants, mini muffins, different types of bread (blueberry, apple, etc, that was changed daily), toast, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, and a variety of cheeses. Mid-day snacks consisted of homemade chips, veggies/dip, mini sandwiches, chocolate chip and sugar cookies, candy (caramel creams, gummies, tootsie rolls, suckers), and trail mix. Apps were somewhat different daily that consisted of Ahi tuna, quinoa salad, roasted potatoes, shrimp cocktail, bread with spinach/artichoke dip, grouper & some sort of steak that the chef made Friday night, both of which were excellent. Desserts were tarts, cookies, mini cheesecakes, and oreos with some type of mousse on top. Beer choices were Yuengling, Sam Adams Summer Ale, and Bud Lite (there was a 4th choice but can't remember what it was). The CL CMs could not have been more pleasant! Brittany, Joe, Chris, Lorenzo, Howie, JJ, Linda, & Pete were all amazing....very friendly, nice, and personable. Love how they interact with guests and make you feel right at home. Never seemed bothered or put out....always said hello, good morning, good evening, etc with a big smile. There are a few other CLs I have been wanting to try (and two I want to return to), but in all honesty, it will be hard not to book BWI CL over and over again!

I was waiting to see what you thought of the BWI CL. So glad that you had a great time. That is exactly how we feel. We really want to try AKL CL and the CR Tower CL - so that is what we are doing this summer and I am sad that we will not be at the BWI. We have gone often enough that they recognize our kids and each year can't believe how tall our youngest kids have gotten. The CMs are so sweet. We love it there and don't feel the warmth at any other CL.

Bit of a strange question: can you book a guest in 2 rooms at the same resort? I know I have read that you can actually book yourself in 2 different resorts & Disney has no issue with it. We have a club level room booked at YC on a bounceback rate from last December. My DDIL just asked me for my thoughts on the YC. They did not know we are going but are actually looking at booking the same dates we will be there. We would not be comfortable all in the same room, but I am wondering if they book a regular room at YC, can I also add them to my room? I would like them to be able to join us in the lounge. And book the extra CL fastpasses with us.

Not trying to "pull a fast one" or do anything inappropriate. But I know we would pay the extra adult charge which I would be fine with. If I had known they were considering this trip, I would have just booked 2 rooms with the bounce back offer, but it is too late for that now. I know they would not spend the money on club level, but I'd just like to do something nice for them. Thanks!
Forgive me if this has been answered, but I only had time to skim through to catch up! Last year, we booked a room for my then DD18 and her bff in an outer building at GF while we were in RPC with DD13. We could have put the two girls in the room with us, but like you, we wanted the extra space! They just gave them a key card to use to get up to the RPC lounge when we checked in. If you think about it, Disney was coming out WAY AHEAD by our paying $500 a night for the extra room versus paying a nominal fee for two extra adults per night! It’s definitely not “pulling a fast one” if they are family and you could have put them in your room according to the room occupancy...and the resort knew what we were doing and had no problem with it. We booked the same rooms for this Memorial Day week too and DSS said it would be no problem to book the extra FPs for my DD and friend because they were part of my party. As it turned out, DD’s friend had to take a summer class so we ended up putting DD19 in the room with us (NEVER AGAIN:scared1:). I hope this helps:o!
Does anyone have any recent experience with the Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club and food allergies. I just changed my reservation and was curious about how well they would be able to accommodate my food allergies during breakfast and with the evening appetizers. FYI, I am allergic to wheat (so gluten-free is safe) & peanuts, and dairy intolerant. Any information you have is appreciated!
:earboy2:
I know this question was answered, but I would make sure to let the CMs in RPC know after you check in. The waffle chef made me and DD14 gluten free Mickey waffles (3 mornings during our week)!!! We were thrilled! Most bread items are prepackaged, but these were made with a mix so make sure they are also nut and dairy free for you! Abdul (the best CM in RPC) kept the gluten free donuts coming too!! I should probably try to shed a couple of pounds before I go back in a few weeks!

Thanks :). It was a wonderful stay. I emailed DSS and requested a room inside the security doors and close to the lounge. Had the perfect room (4230) just 2 doors down from the lounge with a view of Epcot fireworks. Loved the location! I'm trying Poly CL in Oct and AKL CL & CR Atrium CL are on my list to try, but BWI CL is so very tempting to go back to....lol. I think it's great that the CMs remember you and your family. I felt the warmth/welcomed feeling on just my first stay, so I can only imagine how great it is for the CMs to know you from past trips. I hope you have a great time at AKL CL & CR Tower Club. Hope you will report back with a comparison of the two :goodvibes.

Thanks! I'm already starting to think about when I can go back ;).

Now if I could combine CLs - It would be the Poly CL lounge with the BWI CMs and food. The food at the Poly is definitely better than it was but not as good as the BWI in my opinion. And there is no comparison with the CMs again in my opinion but I love the lounge of the Poly. To dream. :dogdance:

Again I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at the BWI. I will come back to give my report on the AKL and CR Tower CLs.

Thank you so much! Yes, definitely enjoyed it....I'm actually thinking about trying to go back for a short trip in August :D.

I know exactly what you mean about the clubs. My combination would be the RPC lounge with BWI CL food/CMs. I can only imagine the Poly lounge with that view :cloud9:....I'm very excited to experience that in Oct. Looking forward to your reviews when you return ::yes::.

Sounds wonderful! We will be there for 7 nights in September and I am so excited to try BWI. We have stayed several times at various CL, and have always wanted to try this one. To date, CR is my fave, but based on what I have read, BWI will give it a run for it’s money (or should I say MY money...). I am glad you had an amazing trip!

How would you prepare yourself after reading negative reviews about a CL that you are booked to stay during your upcoming trip???

I recently have read some not-so-positive review about Poly’s CL here on Dis as well as on TripAdvisor’s. It will be my family’s first time staying at Poly CL and it is a lot of $$$$. I won’t get my expectation high but just hope that my family will have a good time there.

I have been reading through many pages of this thread, but if someone has a recent review of GF RPC handy, I’d appreciate a link over to that! I’d love to know what has been on the menu lately. Considering one night here.

Thanks!
Reposting for you. There were so many great items. Loved the soups and tea time. Resort was immaculate and employees were very helpful at all times. I want to go back!

So far this is what I can remember from the CL cocktail hour. There were a couple of kid friendly items each night. They kept the food refilled. Soups were all chilled and very good. We really enjoyed all of the choices.

RPC cocktail hour partial list:

Monday: beef skewers with herbs
Mushroom stuffed with fontina and sausage
Vichyssoise
Chopped Greek salad
Kids- corn dogs and uncrustables

Tuesday: Greek meatball with spinach and feta
Chicken sausage with diced peppers
Gazpacho shot with a shrimp and cucumber (spicey)
Kids- Chicken nuggets

Wednesday: pork belly with mandarin oranges
Potato and beef croquette
Shrimp with avocado and fried plantain slice
Crab and corn chowder
Kids- Mac and cheese
Crime brûlée with caramel corn prepared by chef

Thursday: crab cakes
Pulled pork and red onion on polenta
Hummus and avocado with pita chip
Roasted red pepper soup
Salmon with miso glaze on rice cake
Kids: meatballs with red sauce
Uncrustables

There were also breadsticks, bread, cheeses, grapes, grilled vegetables, and broccoli slaw with cranberries.

Wines offered: Pinot noir, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and sparkling white. One night they had a cocktail of Rosa regale, grand marnier, cranberry juice and perrier.

Server said that they change things up frequently so this should give you an idea. Some of the items were really great

There are always some downsides depending on your perspective. I wouldn't let reviews bother you unlesss you hear the same complaint over and over. (like during the cutbacks in 2016)

imo Poly strengths are theming and lounge view.

I’m a Poly homer... I can help with some Poly CL love. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I have a Poly trip coming up and it literally cannot come soon enough.

All of the resorts themselves and their respective CLs have their own pros and cons. No resort/CL combination is going to make everyone happy.

I like to read reviews, but I take everything with a grain of salt. All of our views are so subjective to our personal experiences and travel wants/needs... I just never quite take things too seriously until I’ve had a chance to experience it for myself. (I acknowledge that’s very hard to do when talking about a large $ investment in one’s vacation)

One thing about DISer comments....when people post reviews, I generally want to know exactly when that person last stayed at that resort/CL. Things with CL change/morph/evolve over time. Sometimes slowly, sometimes overnight... so it’s important to filter out old experiences, in my humble opinion.

As to TripAdvisor... I don’t put much stock in those reviews at all! :-)

Just one person’s perspective, but hope that helps.

BWI CL has been on my list for a long time and I can honestly say that all of the great reviews I've read are right on target. My fav CL is RPC, followed very closely by WL CL....but now BWI CL is thrown into the mix as it was one of the best experiences! I hope you have a great time in September. Also hope you will report back after your stay :goodvibes.

We've never stayed CL at the Poly but prior to our first Poly stay (which was quite awhile ago), I read A LOT of negative reviews, which had me second guessing my choice. I decided to stick with it and take my chances despite all the negativity as Poly was my dream resort. I am so glad I didn't change because our Poly trip was one of our best! We've had great trips at all resorts we've tried, but I loved the Poly the minute we checked in and still love it to this day. With that said, I would take all reviews with a grain of salt. It is a lot of money to spend, but for me, visiting a resort vs actually staying there is a different experience and you won't know if you like it unless you experience it for yourself. Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

Honestly, you ignore them. Or better yet, stop reading them.
Especially Trip Advisor. That site is simply THE WORSE! I don't believe 90% of the reviews that get posted on there are even real. No scientific evidence to back me up mind you, just my own personal opinion on how I've seen that site change over the years. I used to love it but it's not what it was when I used it eons ago when I researched a room to stay in when UT when out to plan Cal.
Anyway, do not let extremes either way influence you. It's rarely going to be as bad you read about.
I am a firm believer in your mind creating half of your experience and if you go in to something expecting or looking for bad things, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you start to find them. It's almost as if you start to attract negative energies. And I'm not some new-agey person at all. But I do believe in the negative stuff following you around, I've seen it happen too many times. But mostly, I think it's because when we think negative we see negative, even when we don't mean to.
And the higher you build something up, the further it has to fall.
Know that Disney's CL services are not your run of the mill CL services. If you are expecting real world Concierge then you will be disappointed. And that may well be what generates many of the negative comments on places like Trip Advisor. People who just don't get that Disney's classes of services are just a class all their own. Like it or not. They are still wonderful but just not what many think they are going to be getting.
Go in with a positive attitude and be happy you are at Disney, plan to enjoy the lounge, what they have to offer, speak up if something is lacking or if you need something and realize that many of the CM are over worked these days and sometimes their smiles aren't as quick as they should be. Don't take it personal and I find that if I smile first, I usually get a cheerful smile in return and have a very pleasant experience in general. Even when things start out sour (like I had when dealing with a recent ticket issue over at HS GS, got it turned around but whew, I had to clinch my teeth!)

Thank you for sharing that!

It's rarely going to be as bad you read about.

I like this line.

And if I might add, it also sometimes may rarely be as good as you read about too.

I’ve had situations where I let these boards/this thread build my expectations perhaps a bit “too much” in my head. It’s only natural to read the glowing reviews and start to think... “wow, this is going to be so awesome/magical/special” and then you go and it’s fine and all, just maybe not up to built-up-expectations. (For us, it was RPC that fell into this category)
