the age of your baby will make a difference if you can use a Disney rental. no way to use if baby can not sit by self for long times. also if you have a young toddler unless you fasten every time child can get hurt trying to get out of stroller before you can stop it. Disney strollers are hard plastic and do not fold
So probably won't be able to use a Disney stroller for a few years then since we are only just trying for the baby now. Does Disney have a list of acceptable strollers or just has the dimensions they need to fall into?

I've only ever seen the dimensions. Obviously there are a ton of different stroller types and manufacturers out there, so just posting the dimensions is the most inclusive way to go. And easiest, lol.

So not true. Smoke travels. I've breathed it in numerous times just walking past a smoking area. Especially that one path by the castle. Also at the resorts. The smoking areas are right on the walkways, not set far off from them.
There is not a smoking area on any path by the castle FYI. There are only 3 designated smoking areas at MK; one outside the entrance, one on the back path from Barnstormer to Space Mountain, and one across from Big Thunder Mountain. None anywhere remotely close to the castle

What do you mean my strollers are too big.

My mom was a smoker and my siblings and I are not. However, I still have empathy for people who have an addiction. I bite my nails and literally absolutely nothing has helped me stop. Even if I get acrylic nails, I bite those. Addictions are real and not always a choice. I *know* it will get tiring and that is why I am already upset with it. I have seen him try to quit, but his anxiety and addiction are so strong it has never even been a whole week. He's even gone through rehab programs.
This will be tough for your DBF, for sure. Is there a chance he might use a nicotine gum in place of one or two breaks and then take a longer break midday? Maybe ask him how he thinks he can manage. He might be willing to try some different options.

As for you getting the break, too, you don't all have to leave the park for his break, you could wait just inside (and then not have to all do security again). You'd still get your media/relax time and the kids can have free play time at a spot that likely is less crowded. By taking the walk to the gate together, you'll still have that time and maybe it will be an incentive for him to make his 'alone smoking time' quicker. But ideally, if a substitute product (one day a week) could work for him, it would minimize the impacts on all your touring time.

Take heart, he may approach this with some optimism and want to try going for longer as a compromise, too. You never know.

Just has the dimensions. Based on what I can tell most joggers probably fit into the dimensions.

There used to be.

Pretty much any single stroller is going to fit the allowed dimensions. I seriously wouldn't worry about it. Even most of the double strollers are fine, just a few of the large double joggers are too wide.

Either there was, or smokers made it one. There was always a group of people smoking there if we forgot and went that route.

Would he be able to replace maybe every other cigarette with nicotine gum so the number of actual smoke breaks was less, but he wouldn’t be trying to stop the actual smoking completely? I am thinking the act of physically chewing the gum might work better than the passive act of trying a patch, because sometimes the addiction includes the activity as much as the nicotine itself. As someone who is very allergic to tobacco smoke, the ban will help me, but I do understand how difficult it can be to deal with any type of addiction.

I think the ice thing is totally about security and bag checks. If you put the ice in a baggie, they can lift the baggie out, check what’s in the cooler, shake the baggie to make sure it’s just ice, and put it back in. Easy, quick, and safer for everyone. I wouldn’t want a guard who has been pawing through hundreds of strangers bags running their hands through my loose ice anyway.

I think they are being more than generous regarding stroller size. Very few strollers would be too large to meet the requirements. I think the wagon issue boils down to ease of enforcement. If nothing wagon like is allowed, the CMs won’t have to make their own judgments regarding what is a wagon and what is a wagon stroller and lines shouldn’t be held up by parents arguing the point.

It would be nice if Disney sent everyone an email who already has a room booked to alert them of these changes. There are tons of people who stay on property who don’t hang out on message boards and forums.

Sadly that path doesn't exist anymore, as it was our favorite place to nap our kids.

I’m so glad I’m done with Disney lol most of these don’t even apply but added with room checks , rising costs and parking fees I’m just glad I started traveling overseas... I vape ( THC not nicotine) and in no way could anyone get it into their system unless I blew it into your mouth , then again I normally take THC capsules with me to the parks but still ... this stuff is getting absolutely silly .

You can use freezer pacs.

How does the typical onsite person get them frozen?

It's interesting to see how folks are thrilled by such bans, except for the ones that affect them personally.

Bill From PA

I think that people are affected by the things they are thrilled about, just in the opposite way.

Do they make 3 across?

Yes.

As for being in a car... then you have the argument that well at least the windows are rolled down, so it doesn't affect them "as much."

My stepmom once tapped her ash out the front window came in the back and hit me in the face. Ah, good times. Ha.

Actually, the Keenz stroller wagon still fits in the new size guidelines, presumably why those are specifically called out as not allowed.

I think it’s interesting that they are specifically banning them when they do actually fit in the guidelines.

Do non smokers get the extra breaks also?

The places I worked, nope. Those needing the breaks always went when a smoking supervisor went.

Also when you're on site, you probably don't have a freezer (unless you're staying DVC or in a suite)

Dvc studios don’t have the freezer either, so it’s 1 bedroom+ Dvc.

Despite what people probably think, Disney has thought long and hard about these new rules and restrictions.

That hasn’t been their way of doing things in the past, fwiw.

For strollers I'll have to look closer at the new rules soon since we are trying for a baby so will need one.

Two and a half bits of unsolicited advice.

1. Babywearing is awesome.
1.a. You don’t have to worry about the stroller size unless you have triplets OR have twins and purposely buy the biggest double you can find.
2. I wish you luck in your endeavors, but must say that having a baby in the first year of marriage can be tremendously difficult even for the best relationships. There’s a reason that both first year of marriage ANd having a baby are each on the list of massive life stresses. Doing both is mind blowing. Take it from me...

nobody can quite cold turkey.

Well they can (my mom did after years of trying), but not everyone, and the reason has to be there. But I don’t want to be around anyone in the first month of cold turkey lol.

Congratulations for having no compassion, since you have stated multiple times how you don't care about anyone else's feelings on this matter.

I think the poster is showing lots of compassion for you and your kids

Disney doesn't ban things they sell.

Oh, beg to disagree.

Seen any stormtroopers blasters, Han Solo blasters, or Frontierland wooden muskets recently? They most certain DO ban things they’ve sold.

My son has been revisiting all his old blasters this week, and is so sad he’ll never get a Frontierland musket. (And we’re pacifists!)

For the ice, could you just bring a Ziploc and fill it with ice at a quick service as soon as you get to the park? Doesn't seem like a big deal for most situations.

Very well said. For those applauding, wait until Disney takes away something that you do....

I'm not a smoker, but I do feel bad for the smokers.
The way I look at it, that's fine. They own the park, they get to make the rules. I can either follow them or not go. It's my choice. I applaud that they are allowed to make the choice and will always and forever do so. I do not want to be in a place where they are not allowed to do it. Just like as I've posted, we have businesses here that have made the choice to make their entire campus, include parking lots, which includes your vehicle on their lot, nonsmoking. It's a tough rule but I'm glad they are allowed to make it

My husband is an ex smoker, so I dont care about the ban either way, but from experience, I can imagine.....

He was never a heavy smoker, but I can imagine those who smoke a pack or more per day will find a place not as hidden as the current designated areas, to smoke. Nobody would go all the way outside of the park and nobody can quite cold turkey. I imagine the bathrooms will be a hot spot. His one "have to" cigerette each day was right after a large meal. No way he would eat in the park, then walk all the way out.

The parking lots will become an ashtray with all those getting in their last "puffs" before entering.
The resorts will be far worse too as smokers will chain smoke before/after a day in the parks, rather than just one quick break.

As far as the kids, I totally agree. I would NEVER let mine go into the smoking area. Luckily I never smoked and always took the kids into a shop or bathroom while hubby had a cigerette. Bringing kids into the designated area is just wrong.
Bull. Can to. I did. Cold turkey. Cigarettes ran out same day as my lighter ran out. I took it as a sign to quit. So I did. I'd smoked for 20 years too. Haven't picked one up since that day
I hope they give the CMs the proper training to enforce the new policies and provide extra security to help back them up.
It's super easy to enforce a complete ban, no grey area there. So wagons and cigarettes are simple
Too big a stroller may be more difficult though

And we just refill if we need later on. I can't do that with an ice pack. They don't keep things as cold and they don't last as long.
Couldn't you start with an ice pack, then replace it with ice once inside a park?
Yay. Just yay.
Question of the day, we know the wagons won't fly.
Will the Cinderella carriage stroller?
As long as it's smaller than the 52x31 inch limit, I don't see why not.

I don't know that it is, that was my question and it appears to be made on a wagon frame, from what I recall of the one I saw, though all may not be (not sure how many there are)
