Just had my fast pass day and I booked Slinky on one day and Alien on another. All the other fast passes I got were for things I dont care about so we will mostlikly just tap in(so it wont error out) and move along and hope to get another T1 after there all done. Anyone else do the same?

Kinda stinky.. but oh well. Heres to finding some good 4th fps.

I book either mermaid, dance party, or muppets for first thing in the morning as no one needs a fp for those anyways so I’m not taking away an opportunity for someone to skip a line. I don’t bother tapping in.
Someone said that if u don't tape and let them time out they can error and won't let you get another fp at another park if you hop.

How does this new system help anyone, Disney. Makes me not even want to be in HS anymore. Not worth the aggravation. I paid for park entry. I shouldn't have to cajole the system just to ride the rides. Please re-think this new Tier 1 system.

I rarely have problems with booking more fp if I don’t tap in. Maybe I’m just lucky. I’ve only had a problem twice.

I only have 1 throwaway and we'll probably use it anyway (Mermaid). Would rather have had Muppets but wasn't available.

ETA: also, because it's a show, you can sort of time overlap.

Muppets almost never needs a fp. You wait in the same big room as everyone else. Mermaid rarely needs one, but more often than muppets. You do enter the big room before standby, if you show up at the beginning of the window. But that means you’ll be seated at the very end of the row.

We were there last week and had 2 HS days. I booked my 2 throwaways for first thing in the morning and our 1 usable FP for around noon. Both days, I had 1 anytime fastpass (excluding TSM & Slinky) available because I didn’t use the throwaways. Maybe the show/ride was down but it seems odd that it happened twice.

It is also possible they did this because it was so slow and they wanted people in the park. We really didn’t need fastpasses for anything. Even slinky was 25 minutes.
I did my throwaways for Epcot and didn’t get an anytime pass.

I am not a star wars fan so we were just going to walk through the land to see all the details real quick but did go on the ride because it had a wait time of 30 minutes, (including the ride time, we were off in 25)

This happened to me just yesterday. Booked ToT, then a throwaway Little Mermaid and Star Tours. Missed the last two (we ended up going to SWGE earlier than planned) and just waited for them to expire, but wasn't able to book any more Tier 1s for the rest of the day.

The second time I had an issue was a few days ago. I just booked a starting soon muppets as we didn’t want a fp right then anyways and after that expired (never tapped in) I could book a tier 1. Didn’t end up using another tier 1 as couldn’t get SDD though.

That's when you might have to go to a kiosk and get/find a CM to help if need be

Yeah, they can fix it. That’s what I did the first time. Well, wasn’t a temp kiosk, those didn’t exist yet- went to the one at HS where the wait board used to be. I assume the blue kiosk people can do it too.

It helps anyone who previously would not get a "tier 1" FP for a ride. In September iy likely doesn't matter but I suspect in November and December there would have been people unable to get a top ride.

A good example is:
I booked Slinky on one day and Alien on another

This person likely would have blocked a Slinky and Alien both days. Slinky is already extremely hard to get and this tier system allows someone to get Slinky that would have otherwise not. Same goes for RR and TOT.

We were there last week. I tried booking throwaways for early morning and letting them expire, but they did not go away on my MDE. The whole "let them expire" thing has never worked for me. So I modified to something near where we were at the time (Disney Jr, VotLM, Frozen show, etc) and tapped out. Lines were short for everything last week, though, so really FP was not necessary except for SDD. Even that I don't think was ever over 50 minutes.

This "person" is me and I booked 2 tier 1 rides on different days so I could do the rides we want . The op question was due to my SDD day being at 1pm and my throw aways are in the morning and was going to just not even go to HS till my SDD is ready. Did I do something wrong?
