I looked today and now there are over 80 rooms available for this sailing - Inside, Porthole & Veranda. This doesn't count any of the restricted guarantee rooms that have been sold but not assigned.
Not surprised.... it’s getting pretty crazy. Postponing NBA season... canceling NCAA tournament... and closing Disneyland

Yes it seams here in Hawaii everyone is concerned . We'll be using this cruise to come back home so I really hope it goes through. you know its a concern if they closed Disneyland

I heard that Canada is closing Vancouver cruise port until July. Not confirmed and do not know what that means for our sailing

Hi all... so Canada did indeed announce that no cruise ships capable of carrying 500+ passengers will be allowed to dock until July 1. No response from DCL yet. We’re still not canceling but it feels like a long shot that this sailing happens

They can divert to Seattle. We took our Alaska cruise from Seattle...they were there a year and then moved to VAncouver. It would be easier getting in and out. No passport control!

Don’t they have to start from or at least stop at a port outside of the US?? I thought there’s some legal issue because the ship is registered outside of the US. Not sure though?? We were thinking maybe Cabo

From DCL website today:

Sailings Departing from Canada
On Friday, March 13, 2020, the Canadian government announced they will not allow any ship with more than 500 passengers to dock in any Canadian port from now until July 1, at the earliest. The Disney Wonder has sailings that are scheduled to embark and/or debark in Vancouver beginning April 29. We are currently evaluating various options and have not made changes to any itineraries. Once a decision is made, we will reach out to Guests booked on these sailings. Given the higher than normal call volume at our Call Center, we ask that Guests and travel agents wait to contact us until after they receive an email from us. As a reminder, Guests who booked their reservation through a travel agent should contact them directly to make any modifications.

This wouldn't work since going from one US port to another requires a distant foreign port stop. A closed loop cruise Mexico would work for the stop but doesn't work for Hawaii cruises.

I'm surprised right now anyone would want to get on a boat.
Over the next several months Cruse Ships will be the "safest" places to be. DCL started screening passengers before boarding, instead of relying upon the health form that everyone signs regardless of how sick anyone in their party is. Most people are washing their hands / using the wipes before going to meals. But yea, norovirus can strike anytime.

Airports / Airplanes are the big concern now. Zillions of people not taking care of them selves / proper hygiene anonymously, and what about the grocery stores? People sticking their fingers "who knows where" and then touching the fruits and veggies and putting them back (how many infected people have touched a bunch of bananas and put them back - you then peel it at home and probably touch the edible part with your fingers that you just peeled it with and ...), same with anything elsewhere in the store. And the Fresh Bakery cases, who knows who has sneezed into one of those cases.

Just saying, life is "dangerous" right now ... unless you are isolated, you are at risk. Gotta make Risk / Reward choices.

Well maybe the government will suspend this stupid rule (the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886) during the pandemic and let the cruise industry sail one way between Seattle, San Francisco, LA (San Pedro) or San Diego and Hawaii?

Probably Won't!!

And Hawaii will probably close it's ports like Canada did -- so at the end of the day it will be moot point.

Well the governor of Hawaii wants all tourists to reschedule until after April 30 ... Granted we are not scheduled to arrive until May 8 but my guess from the way things are shaking out ... all closures, gatherings, etc will be pushed through the end of May.

and all cruise ship passengers will be thermal scanned... well that's a thing!!

My husband had an interesting idea....leave from San Diego (our port is still open - in fact the Wonder is in port right now after their Panama Canal cruise) - overnight in Ensenada, then off to Hawaii. I'm sure Disney has thought of that, but it could work for Maritime restrictions.

IF (big if) Ensenada (Mexico) and Hawaii are allowing cruise passengers to disembark. Would you be interested in such a cruise if you're not allowed to leave the ship?

Personally, yes as long as we were able to get back to San Diego. We LOVE sea days! Others may not be so willing.
