My Costco was pretty empty people wise, but I didn't go until early afternoon and I was back home by 3ish. It was not crowded and people for the most part were keeping space while shopping. I was waiting for a lady to move away from something and when she did move on, someone swooped in from nowhere. Oh well, I didn't mind waiting another few minutes. I have to read newer stuff before buying for allergies.
They had put a plexi glass shield around the cashiers - I thought that was good. I got most of what I wanted but did note the chicken fridges were empty. Lots of salmon, halibut, cod, tilapia, sea bass, crab legs, but I bought frozen fish as it is already freezer ready and in portions - works best for me doing one portion at a time. We already had lots of chicken from my visit before going to HHead. So I bought hamburger and pot roast that I'll cut into stew meat as they didn't have that prepared.
My cart got very heavy fast, as I got litter, cat food, bird seed and over $400 worth of stuff. I guess I needed the flat cart. Some of the things that I needed will last up to 6 months, but I would run out in the next 2-3 weeks, so just got it all now. Detergent, dish pods - that kind of thing. Shampoo and conditioner - $30. Adds up fast. Plus they had a few things on sale that I would normally stock up on like the madras lentils - I like those on rice and at $4 off a box, I needed a couple. I also did more frozen veggies and a few other staples that will not expire before we use them, plus I found a new item to try - a cauliflower rice mixture with some veggies in it - 4 12oz packs for 8.99. Hope we like it!
Checkout was a breeze as they did one line and you had to stay 6 feet apart. I had 2 people in front of me and was directed to a checkout very quickly and every second checkout was open. I put a couple of things on the conveyor but the employee with gloves on loaded most stuff and quickly. Insert card and pay. Leaving the store my favorite guy was checking carts - he just glanced at my receipt and made small talk plus offered to get me loading help as I had a lot of stuff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful! I did my own loading as I wanted to separate stuff the way I would take it in my home. Such as litter is still in the van until I need it. It's like a storage closet for a few things like that.
Churning - used my 2% Navy Fed Flagship for $8.44 in cash rewards. Daughter will share the cost of this trip as well.
