Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

As an out-of-state fellow Disney fanatic, please take lots of photos while you're there (if possible)! lol
Our own @WonkaKid posted photos from DTD and the esplanade today (see the DTD reopening superthread)! See below:

I’m here now and crowds are relatively heavy. I arrived at around 9:45 but this must have been one of the days that they opened early because as I drove beneath the DTD underpass, I could already see people walking around. It was also the first time that I’ve had to get in a wraparound line to get through the various screenings.

A few minutes ago I thought I’d pop into Marceline’s Confectionery, since the line appeared to be short. However, once I joined it, a CM approached and explained that there was a standby. I only wanted to look (I don’t eat refined sugar) so I declined her offer to get on the list.

A few pics from the gates of DCA. Mats and stools were in evidence. Not sure if the stools have been there since the closure but I choose to interpret their presence as a positive sign. Didn’t see any mats at the DL gates :-(. Somehow that’s still a positive sign, though ;-).

From Dapper Days (email, 9/13/20):
CALIFORNIA Our Sun, Nov 15 outing to Disneyland remains on the calendar despite the park not yet having an announced reopening date. Due to a combination of dropping Covid positivity rates in the state (and specifically Orange County), plus the recent activity at the Disneyland Resort which seems to be preparing the parks for an imminent reopening, we're hopeful the parks and hotels will be welcoming guests before Nov 15. The Marketplace: We made the decision months ago that there would not be an indoor Expo this season for safety reasons, and have instead been exploring options for an outdoor Fall marketplace at the Disneyland Resort. Although we made great progress in our discussions with the resort, we've run out of time to properly produce such an event as Disney has not yet received guidelines from the state required to produce large events at the property. So, we will still have a presence at the resort over our Nov 14+15 weekend in some form if the hotels are open, but there will not be a full size Expo or large outdoor marketplace. We hope to have a pop-up boutique joined by select Expo exhibitors, but we may not know the details until much closer to the event. This does not affect your hotel reservations. Our special hotel rates remain available to book for mid-November, and those reservations are fully refundable should you need to change your plans (or if the hotels remains closed). 2021 – Our 10th Anniversary! Yes, can you believe 10 years! You may book your (fully refundable) room today for our April 10+11 event at the Disneyland Resort here.

Ok the next time I go down there, I'm going to stalk the gates lol
They’ll be charging for that by then. $40/ticket. 30 mins to enjoy The Gates. Included during your time to enjoy The Gates is a picture of your party in your masks taken by a WDW automated photo box with The Gate at Disney’s California Adventure in the background. For only $10 more/person you can upgrade to the The Gate at Disneyland

*All tickets are non-refundable and must be purchased in advance. Admission to Downtown Disney is required and is not included. Refunds will not be issued if you are denied entry to Downtown Disney due to capacity limitations so please allow extra time to reach The Gates on the day of your event. Please note, each person over 2 must have a ticket and each party gets one photo.

It actually occurred to me early on that if Disney really wanted to generate revenue, they could have been offering exclusive photo shoots in the parks this whole time.

Think about the possibilities... all those empty spaces.... and photographers are able to be quite distanced.

I’m sure there are a bunch of legal shenanigans and whatever, and the press would probably be ridiculous about the 1% frolicking around the empty park for photos, but Disney people would pay an absolute fortune for that kind of thing.

I'd totally would expect private groups to book 'photo' opportunities just to get in. recipe for super awful PR. and opportunity gone sideways.

Good thought though -- we just did photoshoot at the beach this weekend and would have paid an entrance fee for a Disney shoot.
