DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dan - sorry about the marathons being cancelled but I think you should still attend
As much as I would love to see you guys out there, I've gotta let the Lady K offer it up, it's a bit of a p!ss take if I'm off on a jolly while she is looking after the littl'uns. Also, there is a very real possibility that I won't be allowed to fly. Or your fine nation will be busy with the Second Civil War.
But nothing is cancelled yet, apart from the marathon.

Anyways..... that's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. After last weeks, frankly, ridiculously high prize of taking Norm home, every Multi-Million lottery payout has to be followed by a regular week. So last one standing in Dawa after several rounds of African Margaritas has to take Jane home. And, let me tell ya, if she asks ya to go explorin' in her jungle, she ain't talkin 'bout no rainforest.

Have a great weekend chaps.

I hear it's quite bushy.

Hey guys, been a busy week for me at work finishing the last few days of my cycle. Now a week off.

Not too much to report, except that both DDs are sick, just head colds. But of course these days the first thought is “oh carp, is it THE virus”? They have sore throats and stuffy noses, but no fever so I’m not worried. Back to school is always back to cold&flu season.

Enjoying a brined a spatchcocked chicken on the grill this fine Friday evening. It’s sunny and 16C/61F which is not too bad for these parts this time of year.

I was happy to see the Blue Jays make it into the post season last night. I’m enjoying the expanded playoff format this year. Anyone else?

So for now, I'm safe, but I also know it wouldn't take too much more of a push to close my division down and amalgamate it into another city's division. Keeping fingers crossed and holding breath.
I know the feeling all too well.
I hope things work out for you.

Still trying to plan a trip to the World, though I know the Mrs. won't want to take a trip because we can't afford it, which, right now I'll agree with, but that can't stop me from planning, now does it? :teeth: I love planning trips.
I’m constantly planning in my head. It’s fun to dream. One day it might come true.

Sounds familiar. Not that I booked anything, but I was hoping things might work out. Although I don’t have little kids anymore I’m not sure me going off on a lark would go over too well. Plus closed borders and everything else, probably not going to happen for me.

Evening guys. Quick check in before heading to sleep.

Not sure if the Mrs. will approve of me dropping a few hundred on a gun when I'm trying to drop a few hundred on a new camera lens. Decision! Decisions!
Can you get a lens that fits on a gun?
Dude! That's not a cool way to find out. Glad to hear you still have a job.
So far. Will find out more tomorrow when I'm back at work. Nervous.
Hope all stays positive for you with this - seeing something like that in the paper does not speak highly of the HR overlords (stole that from Rob)
Not impressed.
Morning, Gents! Well, this is the first day back at my old temp job and I'm feeling both excited and nervous. Otherwise things are going well. Have a good day.
How did it go?
This morning, I received a call from an application I submitted yesterday. It is back in clinical services, working with substance use/ addiction, something I'm degreed, trained, and licensed to do. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump back into that world, but they are setting up an interview next week and I'll entertain offers. I play tennis with the guy who runs it, and he'll be there for the interview as well.
I'm sure you'll do well in the interview. Take the time to think on what it is you want to do.

Now a week off.
Nice. Enjoy the time off. Plans?

But virus or no, it means no going anywhere. People will crucify you if you go out and have any symptoms.

I know you do. And I hope so too.

Not really, just puttering around the house. The 2020 thing to do.
DW is working a few of my days off anyway, and both girls are getting over their colds, so that means quiet days.
My in-laws are coming for a visit today.
And I would like to get a hike in while the weather is still nice. So we’ll see.

Absolutely. Last year if DD had a touch of a sore throat or sniffle I’d probably send her to school.
This year she’s on lockdown until she has no symptoms of anything.
School board has a health questionnaire and if kids have any 2 potential (sore throat, stuffy nose) symptoms at all they’re supposed to be home.

That sounds good!
Chicken was good. I probably left it on 10 minutes too long but still tasty.

Yup.

If I recall, you get along well with them... so will withhold condolences.

::yes::

Chicken is one of the harder things to cook properly. If it's underdone, you simply cannot eat it. If it's overdone, it becomes tough and chewy. Fine line.

Happy Saturday afternoon. Off early yesterday, around 8 PM, as it was the end of their 19 days. I got to learn the load side machines. Nothing too difficult, but mostly it's reading the error message and trying to figure out the solution. Plus, it is the paperwork to provide records that we cooked the white sauce at the right temperatures.

After I posted yesterday, I got two more interviews. One scheduled Monday, one Tuesday, and one yet to be scheduled. Of the three, the Monday job will likely pay the best and it is the one I will be most familiar with. And, I play tennis with the guy who runs it. The last one I didn't even apply for, but it is just an adjunct position and not much money.

DW has been on a cruise with just some friends. For fall break, DW and younger dd and her father are going to fly to Yellowstone Park. I elected to stay home with the new job. I think it's easier when the children are older. Not sure I'll make it to Disney without DW though.

Thanks for considering me such a prize. Having fun exploring Jane's secret garden.

Haven't watched any baseball since the restart. Not much NBA either. Premier League and tennis are my most watched sports.

I'm sure you'll do well in the interview. Take the time to think on what it is you want to do.

Thanks. I don't know if it will be as much of an interview as more of an offer. I still have to get approval from the Retirement ethics committee, as even though it doesn't violate any rules, it has that "appearance" issue. I just don't know if I'm ready to return to that work. However, DW is not happy with me working the different shifts at the factory.

Chicken was good. I probably left it on 10 minutes too long but still tasty.

Just throw some bbq sauce on it. That fixes everything.

Morning gents.
Have decided that I’m not a fan of waking up stupid early. I know this may come as a shock. But would rather not.

Morning all. Not much on the schedule for today. Going to shoot with the rifle and then tennis this evening. Now that I'm back to work, the weekend seems to really fly by.

Haven't seen oldest's boyfriend now in a couple of days. He had been around, or she had been seeing him, most everyday. Maybe the whirlwind romance is ending. That's about it for my world.

Especially when not expected.

The spirit of Cj moves among us...

Prayers appreciated for my son. He was sent home from Basic Training on a medical discharge.

Prayers for your son.

Got up for 6:30 because last night the F1 race was scheduled to come on at that time. I guess TSN decided overnight that they were wrong because it didn't really start until 8. I should have stayed in bed because it was just your typical F1 parade.

Man, I hope he's OK. That must be disappointing for him.

How does one shoot with tennis?

Recording it. Glad I set it to record an extra 2 hours. I always do for races in case of rain delays or stoppages.
