Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

It's all about the tip. If the luggage is waiting for you in the room, they do not get a tip. If you have to call bell services and ask for the luggage when you are already in your room, it's more likely they get a tip. I've noticed this happening more over the last few years. Even when not transferring resorts.

If we want to buy the refillable mugs when we arrive do we get them in a gift shop or at the quick service restaurant? Do you have to mobile order them if you get them at the restaurant? Thank you

We had to mobile order ours @ CC. I did not see them in the gift shops. For drink fills/refills, the attendant will not use your mug, but give you drinks in a paper cup. They will also honor a photo of your receipt as proof instead of bringing the mug in every time.

Where is everyone eating all of these To Go orders? Are they taking food back to their rooms? Is there outdoor socially distanced seating? The pool?

One of my favorite things to do at Disney is to eat at signature restaurants indoors. Is that even a thing anymore?

Hoping things get closer to normal summer 2021. I guess we have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Many of the signature restaurants are open now for indoor dining. It’s just at reduced capacity.

I am having my luggage sent from BWV over to the Poly, will it go to my room and be waiting on me or will I have to ask for it from bell services? Thank you
Just got back from the Poly, and yes they will deliver it, but not automatically. We just went down and got it ourselves.

We ate most of our breakfasts in our room. I found my quickest path to Morea was cutting through the Oasis pool, through the lobby of Tokelau and to the side door of Morea. There is a ton of outdoor seating outside of Captain Cooks (they used all the space on the terrace outside of Traders Sams too since it's not open). There are still 5-6 tables inside the restaurant too. We didn't eat outside just because it was uncomfortably warm.

Thanks for the info.

We are booked June 5-12th and got the same email over the weekend that the Monorail will still be down. We were due to be CL in 2020 but now in a villa JUST to be on property. I have to admit, I'm starting to consider cancelling and pushing everything off another year to 2022. This is our "bucket list" vacay but knowing that there is a good chance the monorail won't be running, part of hotel will be under construction and no hopper pass (or even IF hopper is back it's not a quick trip to MK or walk to EPCOT monorail to get an adult beverage). Plus many other perks still up in the air, I'm really on the fence right now. It's kinda stressing me out and depressing me at the same time. Part of me wants to hold out until March of next year but I need to book airfare soon (from May's cancelled flight credit) and once I do that we can't change it. Unless we still fly down to FL that week and do a beach trip but not sure I want to do that. That is why I'm thinking of cancelling and letting DH and DS pick a place to fly and we do a week someplace totally new (to take my mind off NOT being a Disney that same week)! Anyone else on the fence?

Is there a walk way between Poly and Grand Floridian! The monorail won’t be running while I’m there and I have a dinner ressie at GF at 8:55pm! Just curious how I can get back to the Poly at 10:30 pm or so?

Yes, there is a pathway. It was open as of a few days ago.

Currently, when the monorail ends one hour past MK closing, the Gold Route Buses take over to accommodate dinner reservations for MK resort guests. It will say “Resort Monorail” on the front and follow the exact route. For example, the monorail ended one hour past MK 6 pm closing, so the Gold Route took over 7-11 pm.

Since the Poly monorail station will not be operating while you are there, it is possible that the MK + Gold Routes may run simultaneously. Just keep an eye on the whiteboards in the GCH.

100% on the fence. I just don't know where we would fly instead.

To access the pathway from GF you go towards the beach and follow path that runs along the water in front of the villas. If you try the other side of the villas you end up having to cut through grass which is not a good idea in Florida in the dark .

I have used the path for years and all hours of the day, enjoy the walk it’s lovely!

Only time I have ever had luggage delivered to room automatically without being in room was from airport, otherwise always had to call and had to be in room.

Im 99% sure they no longer will deliver luggage without a person there. Ive asked a few times and also been told no.
