Eh, the removal of Trader Sam wouldn’t really be a big deal to me either. Just do not touch my favorite bar
I still have never been. It’s just always so hard to get in. I just end up at other favorites like Tambu, The Wave, or Geyser Point. Alas we are getting off topic tho.

Definitely the best bar! We‘re going to Poly tomorrow for a night in a bungalow and are still bummed that we can’t get drinks there.

9 times out of 10 we go to the outside bar because we sit down with our drink and don’t want to get up and go make a reservation for the inside bar, but I really love going inside when we do decide the wait is worth it or remember to put our name on the list. It sucks that they can’t open the outdoor bar. I don’t think it’s impeding on the construction

It’s certainly the depiction of Sam that would be the issue. The rumblings so far is many believe the new animated skipper will take his spot.

They actually look different at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. I feel the DL version is a little less of a characiture. The one at MK is apparently named Chief Namee anyway - I did not know that:

DL on the left and MK on the right:

We wind up outside a lot to - while not the same as inside it is still really nice, especially when the musician is playing. Also, you can only get the Spiked Pineapple drink outside

One more say controversial or upsetting change people might see is Trader Sam being removed. It sounds like that’s part of this.
The number one complaint Disney/CMs at JC have gotten for years at that attraction is Trader Sam and the cannibalism jokes. Whatever happens to Trader Sam himself, those jokes are absolutely done.

I've had luck getting in if I arrive around or after 11pm, but other than that, I've been relegated to the terrace. That said, the DLR location puts ours to shame.

Makes you wonder if this redo might bring about some subtle decor or menu/drink changes/additions to Trader Sam's or Skipper Canteen for that matter. While I cannot think of anything at those locations that would run contrary to the Inclusion key, they might make some changes if any of the tweaks to the story, characters, or scenes really catch on and gain something of a following.

People actually complain about that stuff? :sad2:
Yes and just to clarify, the complains re: Trader Sam are not really about cultural sensitivities/inclusion but, in my experience, have been centered around what some perceive as the vulgar/obscene nature of the cannibalism jokes and how they're not family-friendly or appropriate for kids.

As a long-time Disneyland Jungle Cruiser I will just say that what I don't like about the WDW version is the layout is too long. Why is that a problem? Because the timing is all off. The skippers have to keep the boat at full throttle and they just sort-of do sail-by jokes. The DL skippers actually have to stop or at least really slow down in each scene, and you can hear what they are saying a lot better.

I am really looking forward to this refresh though.

Seriously ... I come to Disney for family friendly Cannibalism jokes, not this filth!

Man, some people are just so precious. They ought to do a sense of humor check before letting anyone board the JC.
