What's one place you have been to which you would never go back to?

San Francisco-the only place I have ever been robbed (knock on wood)
Downtown Portland-they have the best bookstore but I do not feel safe there anymore

BEST USED BOOKSTORE IN THE WORLD, top 5 Oregon tourist destination .......but you are right...even Portlanders don't go downtown anymore

Agreed. I was going to name San Francisco. I was stationed there in the late 80s and it was an amazing city (I felt so, so lucky to be there). But, considering their problems now, I wouldn't go back, even for a visit. As for Portland, yeah--it's only a couple hours away, but we won't set foot in it. Sad, because my little sister lives there, but she lives too close to lots of recent incidents.

Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. I found it to be not very efficient in its layout, and (at least on the day we went) a lot of the rides were down. It was difficult to find our way around, and it became a bit of a slog to get through the place. One and done.
That's a shame. That's far and away my favorite non-Disney theme park, by a long shot. And I go there quite often and have never experienced any of that.

I was going to say Texas but then remembered that I live here. 🤷‍♀️

(I actually like the state itself for the most part. But I absolutely HATE the heat which lasts for way too long. It’s not worth it to be miserable for 4-5 months of the year.)
There were many other reasons, but that was a big reason why I moved out of that state. Hard for me to believe I lasted 5 summers there haha. I would visit, but I would never live there again.

Baltimore. I spent two weeks in downtown Baltimore when my late husband was having major surgery at Johns Hopkins. The hospital was amazing, but Baltimore, not so much.

Ahh, sorry about that. We're Marylanders and go to Baltimore semi-regularly. But John Hopkins is not in a good part of town. The Inner Harbor is amazing.

I suppose I might have caught the place on a rare bad day. It was hot and it seemed like everything we wanted to go on was down. We left after four hours and went back to the hotel to swim for the rest of the day. I will say that Curse of Darkastle was excellent- we really loved that, but it just didn't make up for the five of us having a not-so-good time.

Thanks. I was in a hotel about two blocks from the Inner Harbor not by the hospital. I was told not to walk around outside the hospital because it wasn’t safe. Of course, I wasn’t in Baltimore on vacation or for fun, so that makes a difference.

New Orleans

We drove through early this summer on a road trip to WDW. Stopped in New Orleans to visit the Chalmette Battlefield...that part was great. The entire surrounding area around the battlefield, though, was so bad that I wouldn't want to be driving through past sun down. We also visited a plantation just outside New Orleans. That was lovely, fascinating, and a great in-person history lesson for my kids.

We did not venture into the French Quarter.

The roads are terrible and confusing and the city is just ugly as heck. It's like the equivalent of a smelly armpit that hasn't been washed for 3 weeks.

Never again. I'm never going back.

Las Vegas. I do not understand the attraction, it was mostly just depressing to me.
Agreed - not a fan at all. I think Vegas is like Walmart though - it's the people not the place. The casinos are fine (all hat no cowboy, only aim is to keep you feeding quarters in the slot machines, but fine), and there are some nearby gorgeous attractions (Hoover Dam, Red Rocks). The people that visit there regularly though - what a bunch of you-know-whats!

haha me too. The only place I could think of was Cincinnati, every other place I've enjoyed visiting.

Cincinnati felt like the Twilight Zone and not in a good way. Was a long time ago, early 90s. Might be different now? Hope so lol.
Being from Cincinnati, I so want to know why it felt that way. :)
