Applied and approved for SWA Performance Biz Card Saturday, SM'd for Expedited Shipping, and had it in hand in 3 days! Just in time for tomorrow's flight schedule release for our May WDW anniversary trip!
Also, starting my $5k in 3 months SUB spend and working toward my CP goal.
I’m about to do this! Curious if you know your due date/closing date yet on this SW biz card?

I'm planning to book SW tomorrow for an April trip. Not sure what card to put the taxes on - I have Amex Gold, Freedom, FU, FF, SW plus (that I'm planning to close next month), SW Premier (also planning to close next month), CIC, CIU, Marriott Biz. I'm thinking the Amex Gold?

Amex travel insurance requires roundtrip and the entire cost charged to the card. So I wouldn't use the Amex Gold. Maybe one of the Freedoms since you're canceling the SW cards.

Just did it for my mom (she's not great with computers) and I see what you mean. Got transferred, which didn't happen when I chatted earlier for my account. She was offered 55K MR for 4K spend, which we took. I might try again on my account in a bit before I have to head out! Thanks

ETA: no retention offers for me. I'll try again a couple of times before the 30 days are up, but not holding my breath as I didn't put a lot of spend on my Plat. No biggie, still working on a CIC SUB anyway.
If you used the phone, try the chat (if you have the chat button!). I got a retention offer using chat earlier this year.

I've only ever closed or PC'd chase cards so I'm not familiar with how Amex works. I need to get rid of my Amex Marriot Biz (opened Nov '19). Can I SM or do I need to call?

Jealous! Still waiting/hoping for my approval from Mondays app. Wondering if I should have closed an Ink in preparation.
Good luck! This was my first ever biz card. We have 6 personal chase cards between my husband and I. I was kinda nervous they would not approve me because we have pretty high limits on most of them and I didn’t lower any of them beforehand. I plan to apply for the SW personal card in 30 days though so I may do that then, just to be safe. Or I may even cancel an old Slate card that I have. It doesn’t even earn cash back whatsoever so I don’t even use it. It just sits in the closet. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You can chat if it's working. Might want to ask for a retention offer first. There were some DPs of $225 statement credit, though it was awhile back. For biz retention, you'll need to do it during regular working hours.

I plan on purchasing SW tickets in the morning for my May trip. I just got my new SW Performance Biz card yesterday and plan to make my reservations with it, as I’m working on my CP and SUB. My only hesitation is that I like the travel protection of my CSP and from what I am seeing the SW visa doesn’t offer anything close to it or am I missing something? I’m paying mostly cash for these flights since I wiped out most of my RR points on my last trip. I do have a $100 LUV Voucher and a $25 SWA gift card that I can use. Am I remembering correctly though that I can only use one of those, plus my Visa card as payment? It’s been a while since I’ve had any, but I know there was some kind of payment method limit a few years ago. And I guess I should not buy EBCI if I want to use my free upgrade perks, but then if the flight gets to the point where there are no upgrades available, I’d be pissed! What’s a girl to do? You can only upgrade at the ticket counter on the day of the flight to use this benefit, correct? I know I saw where it’s available on the app now, but is that for the performance biz card also? One more question for clarity, when I use the upgraded tickets, getting 4 per year, that means for a round trip, I’d be using 2 of them, right? I really don’t know what to do in the morning. We fly from MEM (Memphis) to MCO. I don’t know that we need to use priority boarding in both directions or if maybe one flight direction would be better to have it than the other. I need help deciding what to do! What would y’all recommend? I ALWAYS buy EBCI so I’m struggling with the idea of not this time and getting screwed somehow with a bad boarding position. I’m not a gambler at all and I don’t like to waste money.

Looong time lurker!
Hubs has ONE credit card on which I am an AU, 2005: AMEX Delta Skymiles Platinum

$10k balance on a $25k credit line
We ONLY put travel on this card (hotel, flights). We charge it up and pay it off annually at bonus time. Interest rate is stupid high. Have never asked for any sort of retention/change. We like it for the annual Delta companion certificate and points.

Hubs has retired in last year. My income has tripled since 2005. We also have significant 1099 income & FEIN # for business.

In November, I want to buy a ticket to a film festival that has early bird access for Citi card holders. In January, I will have my first year of DVC dues on my contract. My goal for a card(s) is to maximize points for travel and/or travel discounts, both WDW/DL and international. We fly Delta primarily, but also Southwest. Use Delta FF points but just recently enrolled for SW points. I am receiving multiple personal & business card offers in postal mail each week.

Help, I need a plan!

Buying TDR tickets is so stressful! 2 Amex's failed, but a Mastercard was successful. Too bad it's not a MSR card. Didn't even try a Visa since I know those haven't been working. Got a new gold biz today with an instant card number thinking I could use that. Oh well.

Oh the other hand, got the Wakuwari discount for 20% off tickets, so I shouldn't complain. One day ticket, 2 adults, 1 junior, 1 kid - $176 total. About the price of one single WDW one day non-hopper ticket at peak pricing!

I hear you. I tried about 5 times and called Barclays continuously about an authentication failure for the Sistine Chapel, etc. I really wanted to put it on that card bc of 0 foreign transaction fees and MSR. But, in the end it worked out because I decided I didn't really feel right about that purchase. So, maybe that roadblock was there for a reason!

That is insane that you got 4 tickets for the price of one WDW ticket. I may have been recently quizzing DS on where the other Disney parks are in the world. I'll let him do my dirty work for me 😁

Welcome! I'm glad you found us and that you've been lurking for a while!

Low hanging fruit: Request a retention offer on the Amex Delta Plat if you plan to keep the card open for the next 12 months.

Most people enjoy this hobby the way they want to and this group isn't big on rules or "you must do it this way." However, you should never, ever be paying interest. Any rewards you earn from cc hacking are eaten up by these huge interest charges.

There was a time in my life where I had so much going on in my career I sort of had my CCs on autopilot, or so I thought. Looking back, I paid a ton in interest and annual fees where I was too busy to recoup the benefits. So I certainly understand.

My advice would be to make a plan to pay down your balance on your current credit card as soon as you are able. Others may have advice on a 0% interest credit card you could transfer your balance to to help stop the insane high interest rate while you pay it down.

Feel free to keep asking questions; we're glad you're here.

The A1-15 upgraded boarding can now be purchased prior to the flight when you check in.

It’s not good for a round trip and….If it still works the same way as it did when it had to be purchased at the airport … It’s only good for each leg of the flight…if you don’t have a direct flight and have to change planes you’d have to purchase it for each leg.

How do the 2 free Early Bird check-ins work on the SW cards? Do I just add Early Bird and pay using the SW card and it will be reimbursed?
Part 2: What if I book today with EB, but cancel the SW card before the flight, any concerns?
I already paid taxes with a different card.

Yep, charge it to the card and it gets refunded pretty quickly. Haven't tried cancelling my SW card, but it is a perk of having the card, so I don't imagine it would affect it. In my mind it's like any other offer on Chase cards. I guess you could look at the terms to be sure - 'statement credit will post the same day your purchase posts...ACCOUNT MUST BE OPEN AT THE TIME THE STATEMENT CREDIT IS POSTED'. You should be fine.

It looks like we will be headed to Scotland for Spring Break in March. Now I need to figure it all out. Suggestions for best airlines, places to stay, what to do? We had in the MD area but willing to position. It will be Sat-Sat or Sat-Sun. I think we have some frequent visitors in the group.

Excellent! Just added it.
