Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Good morning from BC!😀

Here is our view from 5430.

Also took picture right and left. 2 of us have balconies.
I think you may have transposed the room number.... did you mean 4530 rather than 5430?

I don't think there is a 5430 at BC.... I could be wrong, just looking at Touring plans floor charts....

Hi, Friends, I'm back again.... Last stay was at Yacht Club last Feb with DH, DD, DSIL, and DGS last February. We had a wonderful time that seems like forever go now!

I'm currently planning a trip with friends for December, and we'll be at Dolphin, but in March, I'm planning on a return to either YC or BC, and staying in Club Level, (thanks to the new AP offer this week!!)

Anyway, I was looking at the first few posts, and since I haven't stayed CL since the before times, wondering if hours for breakfast, snacks, and apps has changed? Seems the posts there are from before the shut down.

How (and when) are the offerings now.... if you can point me to current reports, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for any new info....

Looking forward to reading more exploits of all the usual suspects here again!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:goodvibes

Thanks for the info! Wow, they didn't even let the pumpkins get cold before putting up holiday decorations! BC must have been pretty much first in the resort decoration lottery.

Back from the Yacht Club trip Oct 29-31.
We didn’t do online check in. We arrived at approximately 11 am. Dh asked for something closer to elevator and shower. We booked garden view.
Ds did a video tour for me as I didn’t want to drag wheelchair up there yet.
Cast member said it was 5 rooms from elevator. Um maybe if you didn’t count the long hallways you had to walk to get there.
Asked 2nd cast member for same request as first cast member went to lunch. They said it would be a while. Fine. Ds said we are taking the room no matter what because we are wasting park time. This room was closer to elevator but had a tub. Sigh.
Ds lamenting he wanted the Beach Club.
I felt the room was small and dark since the remodel.
At Stormalong Bay they asked for ds room card but not ours as we didn’t go the same time.
Bus transportation to AK was good.
We ate dinner at Ale and Compass and enjoyed it.
Got breakfast snacks at A & C.
Ds and I got ice cream at Beaches and Cream to go. The portions were huge and the line moved pretty fast post park closing.
Saw some going to MNSSHP. One guy was Colonel Sanders from KFC.
Sadly saw a guest on a stretcher near lobby elevator. Then I heard an alarm and ds is a nurse and said they were taking the AED machine off the wall. Hoping that person is ok.

Thank you so much for the report about your trip!

HI! We just changed our reservation for January from Contemporary Resort to Yacht Club. We have stayed at YC once before, but it was many years ago. We booked a standard view room. It's just my husband and I, and we would prefer a king bed, but it looks there may not be many to be had. Also, I'm a bath girl and I would really like a room with a tub. I know these are just requests and nothing can be guaranteed. For those of you who have stayed at the YC, what do you think the chances are of getting a king bed room with a tub? Or would I be better off just requesting a room with a tub and taking our chances with the bed configuration? thanks! ::MickeyMo

I agree with Wood Nymph's comments below. Make the tub your priority request and a king bed your secondary request.

"Room with tub, please. King bed preferred, if possible"

::yes::

We've had several king bed rooms at the YC. ;) Two of the king rooms had walk in showers but I don't know if it means all of the king rooms have them.

If the tub is most important, then you would need to request that first. The odds of getting both a king bed and a tub are lower than just getting a room with a tub.

Just booked 2 nights at the BC for 12/11-12/13 and I'm so excited. We are going for my daughters cheer competition and staying at BC when its done. She's thinking we are staying at Pop, going to try to surprise her. Just doing Epcot at HS this trip.

The resort is so convenient to those two parks!

:cool1:

Here I go again.....

Just moved our next trip from January to Memorial Day Weekend 2023. Currently have a reservation at Boulder Ridge Villas from 5/26-5/31, but as always I feel like I'm cheating whenever I stay away from home. so I put in a waitlist for BCV for the same dates. I know Flower and Garden is going on at that time, but what are the odds of a 2BR becoming available at that time?

Fingers crossed for you!

:thumbsup2

If our main request is a full balcony, but we'd also like an upper floor, was it right to word it as "full balcony, upper floor"? They would try to fulfill the balcony request first? We booked a water view, so we thought we'd try for a full balcony.

That wording should be fine for what you are looking for. If you want to emphasize the request for the balcony, you could follow-up a couple of weeks before the trip and request "Full balcony please. Upper floor preferred"

::yes::

We are going to be in a club level, water view room-what requests would you recommend I make?
When is your trip?

Beach Club or Yacht Club?

If your stay is at the Beach Club, you may want to request a full-sized balcony. Not all rooms have daybeds, so if you want that with your stay, you should make that request.

::yes::

Shipwreck Pool Closed for Refurbishment Through Early December at Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Starting from today (Tuesday, November 15), the Shipwreck Pool (children’s swimming area) will be closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. During this time, Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area until the work is complete in early December.

Stormalong Bay Pool and the water slide will remain available to Guests throughout the refurbishment.

Thank you for the decoration pictures and for the info about the kiddie pool area!

:goodvibes:

just got my waitlist for a BCV Studio, 1 night jan 5-6. We arrive early Thursday morning and plan to hang by the pool and spend time at Epcot. Pool on Friday morning, then off to board the Wish around 1pm. (driving rental car)

We were at AKL, and I had a waitlist just for grins. Was shocked when it came in.

Awesome!

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

We kinda winged it food wise . Here is Martha’s Vineyard which was so good!!

Dd had the cheese plate and I had mussels and clam chowder. All was yummy View attachment 719842View attachment 719843View attachment 719844View attachment 719847View attachment 719846View attachment 719845

Ok at night it’s hard to find food! You need to be at the A&C bar before 10p to order but they are open until 11p.

Burger had carmelizdd onions and bacon . I had mine on the side so dd could steal some. It was like eating a steak!!!

I think this has saved us once a trip lol. Sometimes your hunger sneaks up on you!

Staff here is always super nice too!

We have a busy day but if you need any pix etc let me know!

Hey Dee! Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks! I was able to do most of the things i wanted to do in Paris and London.

Disneyland Paris did not blow me away. A few of the rides were better than their Florida counterparts, but the long lines and frequent breakdowns put a damper on the experience. Cast member service is far superior at the US parks, as is the food.

Ratatouille is really cute, webslingers was fun and Crush's Coaster is awesome, but it was over an hour wait to ride. Phantom Manor is pretty creepy which is cool. The Paris Pirates version is better than Disneyworld but not as good at DL California. The Indiana Jones coaster was literally painful.

The Halloween party was ok, but the one I went to at Magic Kingdom was much much better. The parade in Paris consisted of 4 floats- that was it. No special fireworks show. No trick or treating (maybe due to COVID). Guest costumes were really good- I love seeing everyone's efforts.

I think those are my main takeaways.

I still haven't worked on my pictures from the trip.

Love the pix!

I mainly posted food pix because I have2 friends that are foodies! However I got home tonight and told dh about the menu changes. A&C only had a few items our dec/21 trip and dd and I 5/22. Just adding one item can help but a few definitely does!

I am not a big fan of Boardwalk area. I find it hard to get hot food. However 4-9:30-10p has some good options with the bars. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and great service. Fri at A&C we got food at 9:45. We did F! Sat and didn’t get back until 10:01p. I asked if I was too late? Rats it I was. However he remembered us form the night before. He popped to the back and brought me a birthday chocolate dessert like they give in the restaurant! How SWEET was that? That held me over until I did my mobile order at BC marketplace;

Today we left for the airport early because the QS only had cold foods like sandwiches. HH’s had hot food but it got cold and rainy. We didn’t want to wait out in that.

Jet Blue fans will love the new C section! It’s so shiny and new! There’s a Wine bar George and we got some nice items for lunch!

Our late room transfer day kinda sucked but the maids were really good. We declined service because we were tired but they checked on us during our stay. I asked for items from the nearest maid and was given plenty of what I needed.

We were close to Epcot which was nice too! Here’s a pic of the entrance closest to Epcot. I haven’t seen it posted in a while. It may be handy if you are cold/hot/rainy! Coming from Epcot it’s a path on the right as you see the blue building.

Oh and dd left early and took Skyliner from Epcot to HS this morning.

I left 10-15 mins later and walked over bridge and through BWI pool area to pathway. I beat her. The boat left Epcot as I left my room. I still did not see it when I arrived to Hs. So if you walk fast walking is best. However sometimes a nice ride is more enjoyable!

Am I crazy?

For an early December stay, we had AK king bed std view, because it was available with the AP discount for not much more than the rack rate FQ king room we had booked. YC/BC were unavailable with the discount and/or insanely expensive at that point. Then, a BC CL water view room popped up with the discount. DH said go for it, since well, BC. Duh.

Then I started doing the math. And got thinking about the smaller numbers of balconies and king beds at BC. So when a BWV 1 bdrm showed up for $150 less a night than the BC room, I swapped. I’m worried I’m going to miss YC/BC, but you can buy a lot of snacks to stock the room with, and it guarantees us a king bed, balcony/patio, full kitchen and much more space. No SAB, but the creepy clown is gone and who knows how many swimming weather days we’ll get in December anyway. We aren’t crazy about BW, the layout is screwy and awkward to get around, but it’s cheaper and more practical.

It’s the sensible decision, right? YC/BC Addicts, please reassure me that I’m not going to spend the whole trip looking longingly across the lake. It’s the whole king bed issue that’s our dealbreaker, we just can’t do a queen bed for more than one night and stay happily married.

I love a 1br villa with the king bed, huge bathtub, full kitchen and separate living room. It is hard to give up the BC/YC, though. Club level is even harder to give up.

I know that doesn't help but I do feel your pain.

There is no right and wrong answer. I am a BC/YC CL person. My vacations at Disney are based upon location, resort then parks. So I Love the YC/BC resort with its space, pubs, restaurants and of course the pool. We are at the YC CL December 6th-16th. This vacation is for Christmas Decor, Skyliner trips to other resorts, Candlelight, Fantastic, pool (yes in December, did it 3 years ago) then parks. You have checked at the boxes except the pool and CL. What’s important to you? Price does not come into my equation since I know what makes me happy. I will have a full balcony overlooking the pool and lake drinking wine or beer with cheese and crackers watching fireworks with the other things I have mentioned. I know parks will be overcrowded so I promised myself not to get upset with lines even though I have Genie plus. We all have choices, and should make them on what’s practical for each person. Enjoy what you have and don’t worry about it.

We are renting a car at the airport to go to YC on Nov 28. If we drive to Animal Kingdom will we have to pay parking? If not, what do I show them at the gate? In the past I just showed them my annual pass.

I also have had King beds at my request for BC and YC on all my trips

Theme park parking is "free" for all resort guests, including on check-in/check-out day. I would show them your resort reservation on your phone or have them scan your MB. From the Disney website:

Standard theme park parking is included for registered Guests of Disney Resort hotels and select Annual Passholders.

thank you very much

Do the bathrooms in the Beach Club have a sliding barn door or other type to separate the sink area from the bedrooms? Considering a stay at the BC vs. YC.
