"Greedflation" at Disney?

or it could be the threads you're choosing to participate in.

there's a lot on this forum that aren't negative.

there are a lot of great things to read here. i havent done it in awhile, but i used to love to read trip reports, gave you some good tips on your next trip.

the biggest issue i took with your comments to me, is you tried invalidate the issues that i have, sure you may not have the same issues that i have, and you may have some issues that i dont have. that's perfectly fine.

I take issue with a lot of things Disney has done in the past few years, I can do a couple of things about that, and i have taken steps to do that.

You can also choose not to read or react to what others say here also.

i believe that is called a disagreement, i'm not telling you that you need to change you're way of thinking. I just think you're wrong.

I prefer to keep others in check haha, i don't think that people with opposite views should be silenced. I just don't see a lot of people defending Disney, that's where i am trying to come from
Girls! Girls! You're both pretty!

The best thing I learned today is that I can write "asses" here and it won't get flagged.

ahh..you're one of those that doesnt like different opinions. all good.

its ok to disagree.

Here's one that really annoys me. At the Dawa bar the Lost on Safari was $7.75 in 2014 (I remember when it was even cheaper, but I found this on a DFB review). Now it's $15.50.

I am curious, what would a normal inflation look like in your opinion for that drink? Considering you are comparing prices 10 years apart.

I'm more upset about the drinks at La Cava no longer being made fresh by a bartender and are now premade but they're the same price or even more expensive than before.

They did that at the Dawa, too, I think. There is no way the drinks at Dawa should cost the same as the ones at the Nomad, and yet they do.

It's not worth more than $10, really. Liquor prices haven't doubled in 9 years, why should the cost of this premixed drink?

You have to take into account overhead and cost of labor. It's not as simple as the price of the actual product. It is being made by a business, not at your home

I expect cocktails to be pricier at Disney but I can't pay Disney prices for a drink that is premixed. I've never been to Dawa bar but those drinks being the same price as Nomad lounge is nuts if that is true.

or, hear me out. Nomad is offering a good product at a good price. If Nomad raised its prices would that stymie the issue haha

No disagreement there. I love Nomad lounge. The prices Dawa bar and other places with premixed cocktails charges makes me wonder how people can afford to get drunk at Disney parks.

The Lamu Libation is $15.50, same as the Lost on Safari at Dawa. A lot more bang for your buck on the Lamu with the 151 float.

I mean, if I go to a random restaurant most alcoholic drinks will be $12-$20. So I'm unsure why at Disney they would be cheaper.
holy hell...i must live in a cheaper place. that's not normal here, at least that i'm aware of.

but i'll be honest, i dont splurge on drinks in every day life, but more willing to do so at disney, so maybe i dont pay attention to that as much.

I’ll just say that when I went to La Cava a few months ago there was a substantial line for those premade margs and I was part of the problem. 🤷‍♂️ Not many places you can get that avocado margarita.

A lot of chain places yeah. I was looking at our local Chinese restaurant, which has the best drinks around (I don't even really like Chinese food, I go because their drinks are great) and most are $8.90. A scorpion bowl for two is $14.60.

I much prefer alcohol prices in Spain. I can get a sangria for 3 euro and they give me free food with it.

I don't drink at restaurants for this exact reason hahha. For a bit more I can buy a whole bottle :rotfl: . But the price holds true for all the cities I frequent in USA and Canada, so when I go to Disney and want to have a drink at Trader's Sam I do cause it's a special occasion. I find food and drinks in general at Disney to be pretty on par with local restaurants. Even snacks are similarly price when buying something at a mall for example.
