A very merry (and pink) birthday trip report

Ooooohhhh it's all so lovely. See, more proof that the DLRP CMs ARE lovely! Made me tear up a little when they all comforted her!!

It was wonderful. It obviously had a huge impact on her because she keeps telling me about how the bigger girls looked after her when she bumped her head!

I honestly don't understand how people think they are bad CM's. Obviously one or two will be, but it has never been our experience. :confused3

Another great post Mamma Bug!
You guys had some amazing interactions!! Dessert at Auberge looks yum! Poor Rosebug bumping her head

I think that's exactly the point. There will always be someone who's grumpy, had a bad day or got out of bed the wrong side, but that can happen ANYWHERE!!! We had a really grumpy CM in Restaurant des Stars, but we're not daft. That person is to blame for their bad mood and big grumpy face, not the entire cast of DLRP!

Anyway, I'm crashing your AMAZING TR! Sorry!

Rosebug is just adorable! I'm loving ready about all your lovely magic! x

Day 2 - part 1:

Despite setting the alarm so that we could be up, ready and at the Studios so I could at least attempt to get on Crush this trip… we finally made it down to breakfast at about 9:30am! I just didn’t have the heart to wake up my two sleeping beauties!

The queue for breakfast looked quite scary when we arrived, but it moved quite quickly and we were seated within a few minutes. After eating our fill (I had bacon and pancakes…mmmmmmm) we headed off for our morning in the Studios.

First stop was the Cars ride, and Rosebug LOVED it. She kept squealing “We’re gonna crash! We’re gonna die!!!” whilst laughing crazily, every time the car spun! We then made our way to Toy Story Playland to see if she was big enough for the Parachute drop but she was still too small.
We then went on Slinky, which we all loved but it just feels like it should last that little bit longer! We followed this with a bit of a scout around and posing for lots of photos with Toy Story props and then saw that Buzz was doing his meet and greet, so we made our way over and had a lovely meet; with Buzz holding Rosebug’s hand, blowing her a kiss and bowing to her! DH wanted to be in the picture too and was quite proud that he was taller than Buzz – until I pointed out that Buzz was technically a 12 inch toy so it wasn’t hard!

We then went to the Flying Carpets, which we all intended to ride, but when the CM went to put DH and Rosebug in one carpet and me on another, I just decided to stand out, and instead went up to the viewing platform and took some photos, enjoying watching Rosebug smiling and laughing.

We had a slow wander around and I had a sneaky go on my favourite ride Rock n Roller Coaster using one of our DLH fastpasses (we used a grand total of 2 in the time we were there! Ooops!) and then noticed the characters doing the meet and greets. First up was Snow White who was very lovely and then we spotted Lilo & Stitch but when we got there the queue was closed so we couldn’t meet them, but were told they would be back in 30 minutes. We joined the queue for Ariel as it wasn’t too long and met my favourite princess! She was very lovely, and I was very excited to get my photo taken with her!

As we were walking away Rosebug noticed Jasmine and her face just lit up; in all our visits she has never met Jasmine or Mulan and had told me how much she had wanted to meet them. So she had a wonderful meet with Jasmine (who really looked like her teacher!) and was absolutely in awe!

We then saw Mulan, but the queue was closed but we were told to bring her back in half an hour and she could use her pass. We headed inside to use the bathroom and have a peep around the shop. I sneaked off to get her a ticket to get her face painted and as I got to the checkout DH and Rosebug popped up next to me, trying to sneakily buy me a gift. So we spoiled each other’s surprises! LOL! My lovely girl had asked daddy if she could buy me a Jack scarf!

After Rosebug had her face painted (I loved the patterns but the white looked a little spooky!) we made our way back outside to see if we could catch Mulan. We had a lovely meet and Rosebug was so delighted that she had met both Jasmine and Mulan FINALLY!

As we were saying goodbye to Mulan we noticed that Aladdin was with Jasmine this time, but we explained to Rosebug that it wouldn’t be fair for her to have another meet with Jasmine and we had to let other boys and girls meet her and she was quite understanding with her usual “Okay mammy!” I had been totally expecting the meet & greets in the Studios to be a nightmare but the new queuing system as working perfectly – it was all so calm! We headed round to see if Lilo & Stitch were back out but they weren’t!

But we walked right into Cruella, who Rosebug thought was hilarious. She seems to interact with the crazy or mean ones a little better than the Princesses (possibly because she has a crazy streak herself!) and she thought Cruella was fabulous and stood looking up at her and laughing! She was a brilliant character!

As we walked away I noticed another Villain and nearly did a wee! :rotfl:I love the Villains and have never managed to meet any in the parks until this trip, so when Rosebug asked if we could go and meet Snow White’s Queen I quietly cheered and said of course she could. DH spoke to the CM and showed Rosebug’s pass and we stood at the side for a while, just watching in awe her fabulous interactions with the guests whilst waiting our turn. She was hilarious with a large Japanese family, who all wanted a photo on their individual cameras (Rosebug was too busy cooing over their baby at this point) and she just looked blankly and said “My, what a lot of cameras you have!” I couldn’t help but giggling. TBH watching her interaction was as good as meeting her. She then glared at us and demanded “Come here then!” and towered over Rosebug who just stood with her hands in her pockets giggling at her. There was some great interaction with Rosebug telling her how much she liked meeting Snow White, and the Queen signed her book, sneering at Snow White’s autograph and posed for photos. DH laughed and told her she could have smiled for the photo and she straightly said “This was my best smile!” and waved us away. She was fantastic!

Gaston was also out doing a meet and I would have liked to have met him, but I think the queue was closing so popped into the Disney Junior show as it was just about to start. The beginning bit is quite manic, but Rosebug was in her element dancing with the other children and JAKE! The show as lovely but it just seems a bit dated now, as much as we love and have fond memories of The Little Einstein’s and My Friends Tigger & Pooh, it just needs updating with the newer characters. Surely it can’t cost too much to rewrite the show to include newer characters? When the leaves fell down a lovely lady tapped Rosebug on the shoulder (she was sitting on the floor at the edge of the centre bit and we were on the benches at the side) and gave Rosebug one of the golden leaves, which was so very kind and made Rosebug very happy.

After the show we grabbed a spot for Cars and Stars, it was only about 10 minutes before the parade and there was plenty of spaces and we got one right in the front. Rosebug was whinging that she was hungry at this point (because she had refused breakfast, so she was told she would have to wait until the parade was over, as she has to start eating her breakfasts.) but as soon as the parade started she cheered up and she was thrilled to see the characters she had just met going by in the parade!

We went inside to grab some food, and had a really lovely counter service meal of chicken burgers and fries, before heading back to the main park for the rest of our day!

Were photos of Snow White, Ariel, jesmine, Mulan, cuuella de vil and evil queen the lunchtime stars and cars meet and greet.

Yes they were! Gaston, Mary Poppins and Lilo and Stitch were also out and about!

Oh wow. I enjoy reading your TR so much!!!!!! Wonderful, just wonderful.

I'm really enjoying reading your trip report :) So many characters in the studios, will definitely be keeping an eye out for them! Last year we only saw Goofy and Daisy in the studios. Loving the photos from the Auberge, I was planning on having the beef so will definitely have that now :) Alsoloving all the smiley, happy faces -you can't beat that, the memories are priceless! Looking forwars to reading more!

Thanks everyone! That morning in the studios was just fabulous with the meets!

Just about to start on day 2 part 2!!!

Day 2 - part 2!

After leaving the Studios I was itching to go into the World of Disney Store but DH was itching to get back into the Park so that's where we headed. TBH the rest of the day was very chilled. We had a stroll don Main Street, playing around and Rosebug hiding from daddy behind pillars and fences.
We decided to go and shoot some aliens so headed off to go on Buzz; I am so rubbish at this ride; I just can't aim. Although I am better than Rosebug!

We then headed up to Frontierland and had a leisurely walk around - it was empty!!!

Rosebug was desperate for a sword, so we popped into a store and she chose the sword she wanted and then went for a walk through to Adventureland where Rosebug became a pirate princess for the rest of the afternoon. We had a proper adventure; running round Skull Rock; over rope bridges and exploring pirate ships; stopping along the way to say "Arrrrrrrrr" alot!

As we were going over the bridge to Captain Hooks Pirate Ship a Pirate CM was coming across; she stopped to speak to Rosebug and grabbed her hand and led her onto the ship and introduced her to the other pirate CM and she had some lovely pirate themed interaction. After saying goodbye she explored the ship and was in awe at the features on the ship.

We had a reservation at Inventions for 6pm so decided to skip the parade and have some chill time. On the way back she asked if she could buy a Rapunzel playset with her birthday money so we popped into the DLH boutique and then she spent a happy hour in her favourite spot in our room happily playing and looking at the view:

It was then time to get ready for our reservation at Inventions and Rosebug decided she wanted to wear her Rpaunzel wedding dress; so she got dressed and had a bit of a sing (Let it Go AGAIN) and we headed off to the restaurant.

We made the LONG walk down to the restaurant which took us all of about a minute and when we arrived it wasn't quite open and there were a few people mingling about. When they opened the doors we were second in the queue; DH noticed that we were allocated a table at the back; but our server looked at it and asked the CM on desk to change us - when we were taken to our seat we were just to the side of the buffet with a perfect view of the castle. princess:

We had a lovely waiter; very attentive and he was over straight away to take our drinks orders (Guinness; wine and water! What a combination!) and we headed to the buffet. We started with a delicious vegetable soup and croutons, and that's about where my meal ended. The buffet just didn't impress me, unlike the last time we ate there. The choice as very limited; there was beef but it was very rare - which DH likes but I don't; chicken in a sauce but it wasn't the tastiest; meatballs in sauce; a lamb; creamed potatoes; spaghetti and boiled potatoes as well as the usual kids bits. I had breaded chicken; pasta sauce and spaghetti. And that was about it. I am not picky but I just couldn't find anything to enjoy. Rosebug felt the same; had a nibble of the pizza and ate nothing else at all. However, just as we started our mains the characters burst through the doors which filled Rosebug with delight and all thoughts of food were gone anyway. First up was Chip and Dale; Gepetto and Eeyore. Each character visited the table briefly; and were very lovely especially Gepetto who gave Rosebug a lovely kiss and cuddle.

They moved on and I noticed how quickly they were stopping at tables; in some cases it appeared they were just waving; patting kids on the head and then moving on although I am sure they must have gone back at some point (I hope) As they moved through to another part of the restaurant the next group of characters came through the doors and we had meets with Mickey; Pluto (although we had to call after Pluto when he forgot our table) Goofy and Minnie. Again, the interaction was lovely but it didn't come close to the interaction we had there in August 2012 at the evening buffet. All the same Rosebug was still delighted to see her "friends" and enjoyed every second of it.

We went up for desert and again I was really unimpressed; very little choice and the only thing for kids was the jelly and yoghurts. I had a delicious chocolate tart and DH had some Floating Alaska; whilst Rosebug had some jelly, a yoghurt and some sweeties. Once we had finished we paid our bill and headed up to our room for an early night; stopping by the boutique so Rosebug could buy some postcards to write for her friends. We spent some time doing Rosebug's reading and phonics; then she wrote her postcards and went to bed.

[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/74283508@N04/12799384175/]

She had been quite quiet since late afternoon; and we suspect her meds are off but she was super happy and just needed to take things easy I think. I sat up for a long while just looking out of the window at our view until they turned off the lights and I got into bed with Rosebug and snuggled down for a cuddle!
