When I bought my BLT contract direct back in 2009 I opened up a couple credit cards specifically to get the sign on bonuses. I then was able to split the purchase across a couple cards. Depending on which airline you fly you can rake in some serious points/miles via a DVC purchase. I think back then it was 2 Southwest cards I opened...a personal and business. I think thru the DVC purchase I ended up with something like 110,000 SW points plus the companion pass. As long as you have the dough to pay off the statement at the end of the month the rewards earned add up quickly.
