We are definately going to be in for next march for the princess 1/2! (NOT Jan. lauren!) My dd also has informed me she wants to do the 5k.. so i guess i will be doing both! At least i have an idea what to expect now.. I finished hand in hand with my mom at about 3:15 (by my watch). I can honestly say that up til about the 9 mi. mark, i felt great!! Then the sun really started beating and i got warm, and started to lose my momentum.. but it was still an overall great time, and can't wait til next year! (we will skip the party though!!)

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 I just don't know to what you are referring.

Yeah, okay, I signed us up for the Donald. I'm so busted. I can't even blame this on you this time! :cool2:  However, if you're doing the Princess again, don't you think a nice Coast to Coast could be in your future???? You know, there's plenty of time to start saving pennies and all! Come on, you know you want to! All the cool kids are doing it! Plus, we're all jumping off a cliff later! :yay:

You know when you and your mom were getting hot? That's right about when Jeri and I started to defrost! We were like, ahhhh, finally feels good out here, finally warming up. We were actually never hot. :rotfl2: Which makes me worried about the Donald. I could be the first person in race history to freeze to death.

LOL Lauren.. pm'ing you!

Joan, yes, i got the bows the first night we checked in! Thank you so much, they were beautiful! We wore them to the parks!! Matched my "bling" nicely!

Does anyone have a copy of the 2nd monthly newsletter that Disney sent out for the Princess 1/2? I am using the Princess of the Month sections for my running scrapbook. If someone could post it (I think it's Aurora?), I would appreciate it!

Thanks...

A Princess Diary
Disney's Princess Half Marathon
Presented by Lady Foot Locker
March 6-8, 2009

Welcome to the Princess Diary! Within these pages you will encounter one of our beloved princesses and through her discover the royal features that can be found at the 2009 Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
Princess of the Month
Raised under the protective eyes of the fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, Aurora is a gentle, loving and thoughtful girl. But when she has a chance meeting with Prince Phillip in the woods, her desire for romance causes her to ignore the fairies’ warnings about strangers.

Soon after, she learns the truth of her birth and her peaceful life is plunged into turmoil. By the time Sleeping Beauty is awakened from her slumber by the Prince, she has been transformed from a sheltered girl into a mature young woman ready to become a bride.
A Gentle Reminder
As thoughtful as Aurora, you must know others that would care to run. Gently remind them to embrace their inner princess and accompany you in the half marathon. The race has reached 70% of capacity, so have them sign up today!
Time Change
Without Prince Phillip to awaken such a Sleeping Beauty from her deep slumber, you will have to beware of spinning needles and remember that time springs forward the night before the Half Marathon. So set your clocks forward one hour before getting your beauty sleep!
Resort Feature
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of WALT DISNEY'S Sleeping Beauty by staying at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, which salutes the legends of Disney films - from Herbie, the lovable VW Bug, to the spotted pups of "101 Dalmatians" to the playful residents of Andy's Room. Young and old alike will enjoy the brightly colored, whimsical, larger-than-life icons featuring favorite images from hit films. Imagine yourself under the bright lights of the silver screen, as the headliner in your very own all-star adventure! Satisfy your longing and book your stay today by calling 407-WDW-IRUN.

2BoysMom - Thank you so much - this is exactly what I am looking for!!!!
I've been working on this the last 2 hours and only made 3 pages. I took about 50 pictures during the 5k and 1/2 marathon so it's going to take a long time for me to finish this. So much for a weekend project

Thanks again :thumbsup2

I did my first run since the race. I did 2.5 miles today, didnt really worry about the time. I injured my knee at the 1/2 so I didnt push it today and it is a little sore. I believe it is runners knee. Anyone know any good exercises for it?

Wendi: Sorry about the knee. Wish I had some good ideas! Hope it gets better soon.

Hey, y'all, look, it's Caitsmama and me! :goodvibes

Love it Lauren!!!!!! xoxo!

Wendi, sorry, don't have any advice, but hope it feels better soon for you!!

At the CNL race yesterday, I met up with the cycle escort for the Princess (the rsce was by TS the people who do the Disney ones)and he told me that for next year the course will be changed so that we will not be running out and back on the same road.
There where problems with safety as people crossed over the cones to get photos and water etc. in the way of the runners comming back.

Yep, I can see that. They changed it this year for the January race and it was much better!!!!

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

Most WISHers are back from the Princess half, and many of us are going through Disney withdrawal in one form or another....

So, to spread a little PD pixiedust: that will keep everyone moving forward with a Tiggerish bounce in our training steps, tomorrow's mixer question is:

Who or what is your favorite Disney character, and why?

We hope that you feel inspired to post some light-hearted Disney memories on the Team 'Ohana thread. Pictures--from races, recent trips, childhood experiences--and stories are welcomed. And if your favorite character is a Pixar one--or gasp, from some other studio--feel free to share that as well.

Yes, I am going through the withdrawal... I can't believe we are a week post race.

Did 2 one hour sessions on the TM this past week. Not feeling that well today to head out for a walk. Got a full marathon in May to think about... but what is really on my mind is the Goofy!! When will the threads on that become active? Not sure I can wait till that 20 week mark!! :simba:

(Now, you know I must be excited...I have never used such a smiley before!!)

i know at the beginning of the year i was reading which garmin watch everyone was using. Im thinking of getting one and wanted to know what you thought of the garmin forerunner 50.

Thanks for the information

I am experiencing severe disney withdrawal too! Got home yesterday and i'm so so sad! Doesn't help that my parents are still there for another week :upsidedow grr. Have a really long run scheduled but lot of me still has princess aches! You never see belle with a limp do you- how does she do it?!?!

GO PRINCESSES

Hey Everyone:

Does anyone know what CD they were playing before our race and the 5K? They were Disney songs but they were kind of techno and dace versions of them. I'd love to buy the CD if I could figure out which one it is!

Thanks :)

I konw the NSYNC song is on a Disney Maina cd.
Have you tried contacting Disney Sports and asking them.

If you find out the answer from Disney Sports, I would love to know. That was a great question. I forgot about the music, until you reminded me with your post.

Thanks! Is anyone scrapbooking the Princess Marathon Weekend? I wasn't going to but it was such a milestone for myself and my family that I started to. The problem is that I am not creative at all.

Would anybody be willing to share some of their page ideas or inspirations? If I'm going to do it, I want it to look good! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone. This board has been so helpful and inspiring.

I will eventually get around to scrapbooking the Princess 1/2 Marathon. Did you get the scrapbook paper they had available at the expo? They had the same thing at the Minnie last year and I used it. I did scrapbook (well partially) Marathon weekend - have to finish that before I move on to the Princess. I have lots of ideas in my head but not enough time to actually get them done. I will scan what I have done of the marathon pages tomorrow.
