Camper Rentals

We have been avid renters of the cabins at FW, and now with the DVC updates are unsure if that will continue in the future. We still want to stay at FW, and are now researching the idea of renting a camper through one of the several companies that are used at FW. This would be a first for us, so just trying to get some guidance on renting a camp site as we have never done that before, and had a couple of questions if anybody here can help.

Are you able to request a specific site # when you make the camp site reservation, or are you limited to just the level of site (ie: full hookup, preferred, etc.)?

How early on the day of arrival or sites typically available, and how are you made aware of this to let the rental company know what site you are assigned?

Thanks very much and anything else helpful from anyone that has done this before would be really appreciated!

Best,

You can't pick a site, level only, I always call and request a certain site, sometimes I get my site, this trip, 800 loop is closed and the Fort is full, but honestly, we've been coming here since 2003, never had a "bad" site, this time we are in 1200 loop, love it

Check in also depends on how busy it is, we normally arrive around 11am, this time had to wait until noon for a site to open

This is the email we got when we rented from Meacham's: "
We ask your arrival time to do our very best to make sure the camper is ready when you arrive or shortly after you arrive depending on when Disney has the campsite ready.

When we get there if you have not arrived and sent us your site number then we call and see if your site is ready,
if so we go to the site, set up and you arrive and enjoy the camper."

We usually add in the special notes of our reservation which sites are preferable and both times we were fortunate to get our requested sites. However, that was back when you could make your reservations 499 days out, so that may be different now seeing everyone has the same chance because there are no early booking opportunities.
