Okay here is how I do it...

At the Flickr Photo Page copy the URLyou want to link to- The page URL- not the blahblahblahendingin.jpg address- like this one:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/capturelifeinaction/4154113457/

Back at the DIS Post click on the Insert Link
createlink.gif
thingy and paste the address there- press Okay.

It will bring up something like this...but the bold part is 'selected' so you can easily get rid of it by typing...

[U.R.L="http://www.flickr.com/photos/capturelifeinaction/4154113457/"]http://www.flickr.com/photos/capturelifeinaction/4154113457/[/U.R.L]

Just hit delete and it will leave your cursor in the right spot.

[U.R.L="http://www.flickr.com/photos/capturelifeinaction/4154113457/"]|[/U.R.L]

Now without moving the cursor just click the Inset Photo
insertimage.gif
thingy.

Back at the Flickr Page click on 'All Sizes' and copy the blahblahblahendingin.jpg address for the size image you want to post.

Back to the DIS Paste that into the window and click Okay

The final post should end up looking something like this:

[U.R.L="http://www.flickr.com/photos/capturelifeinaction/4154113457/"][I.M.G]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2604/4154113457_58034cde75_b.jpg[/I.M.G][/U.R.L]

Trying one last time. If it doesn't work this time, I'm DONE! :snooty:

WOOHOO!!! :woohoo: It worked. Thanks, Jeff (and everyone else, even though I couldn't understand your explanations at all ;))

If you guys are using Firefox, you really should be using the AllSizes+ plugin. That other method is way too much work.

If you're not using Firefox, maybe you should...

I use Firefox at home but at work I am stuck with IE. I'll give the plugin a try I'm just lazy about stuff like that. Does it work over at tmip? Because I can't ever seem to get the linky-link thing to work over there. :confused:

Yeah, it works there too. It's a bit of work to get it installed initially, but over time, it dramatically makes things easier for you.

Plus, it makes things easier for me. There have been a number of times when I've wanted to view the Flickr page/EXIF for an image of yours, and I have to go through Flickr and try to find it.

:scared1:

That seems like even more work than I was putting into it!

Actually, I downloaded the greasemonkey script that Tom pointed out and will be using it from now on... it's muuuuuuuch easier (thanks, Tom).

sort of ot (not sure if this is against the rules to post even)but guessing others might not read the rules very often either so didn't know this either. you get a warning from the mods if you don't have a link to dis on your website. some one "turned me in" ( from a yr old post with a photo from an account i don't even have any longer none the less, kind of thought that sort of "I'm telling!!!!" stuff stopped in Jr high but i guess not with everyone:rolleyes::lmao:) so i put one on and took the other link off but not sure if you can do that on flicker, smugmug or zenfolio ( i couldn't on imagekind and the one on my personal website wasn't enough for both links) the mods are just doing their job with the "warning" but thought i 'd pass it along for other ignorants such as myself :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Question for you Flickr experts:

Is there a way to find out who a Flickr user is by a photo link?

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2729/4282443778_f05c8f1952_b.jpg

Someone sent me a link to this and I just want to find the user so I can Fav it- see the rest of the set- etc. I tried just searching but came up blank. Is there an easy way to find out that I'm missing? Thanks.

Very cool thread. It helps people like me, that are not that great at being creative... but loves taking photo's, ideas on ways to shoot things.

This is from GDAD
It was the most helpful to me,
