Front of the line pass at USH

So, maybe we visited on a slower day (a Monday in August) or maybe we planned it just right by arriving when the park opened, but many times during our visit we commented "Why would anyone spend $$ on fotl passes?"

We went directly to Back to the Future and waited 4-5 minutes. When finished, we zipped down to the Mummy (rode 3x with NO wait) and the Jurassic Park (again, NO wait). After touring Lucy, Special Effects and Backdraft on the lower level, we were ready for lunch upstairs. Our sons played for a time at the Nickelodeon water center as we waited in line to purchase lunch. Then, it was off to the Studios Tour. Again, this line was only a 5 minute, rapidly moving line.

Seriously, this was our first time at US, and we couldn't believe reading on this board how so many people want to buy these expensive passes. Truly, the trick is to arrive at opening...everything after that is easy!! :woohoo:

There are some coupons in the Sunday paper, $15 off a front of the line pass...USH....if anyone wants one let me know. Starting in September they usally have some buy one get one frees for the regular tour...again let me know if you want me to watch for these, I can mail them to you

That would be great. We are going 2 weeks after Easter Sunday, so I am unsure of what the crowds will be like.

This would help so much! I sent you an e-mail.
Thank you very much for offering!

Anyone think it would be worth it to get a FOTL pass for a Wednesday/Thursday at the end of October?

They do have some Halloween special event in October but I think you'd be fine without FOL except maybe on weekends.

If there are just two of you, try the singles line when you can......they fill a ride with four or five people and need one odd person to take the extra seat and we always get right on, usually your partner gets on in the cab right behind you.

We got the front of the line passes on a Saturday and they were the best investment we've made! There were waits of 30 minutes to an hour at most attractions and we just walked right on. (Max wait time: 5 minutes). Also, they're very nice at shows as you don't have to get there early and wait. As long as you go 10 minutes before the show they escort you to reserved seats. They probably wouldn't be needed during the week in the fall but for popular weekends or holidays, I wouldn't go without one.

Are there blackout days when these passes are unavailable? We will be there during Christmas week and I think we would definately want them. Can we purchase them in advance? What would be the best way? Thanks. We've never been there before so I don't know any of the strategies.

Not sure about the blackout days, have not heard there were. You should call CS at USH and ask. You can order online and you have to pick up the actual lanyard/passes at the CS booth next to the gate. We always seem to go at busy times and have found the passes invaluable. I hate to wait and never have with these pass. Hope you have a great time.

I saw this on the web site. We are going Easter week and I am waiting to find out what if any days are affected during that week. We definately plan on getting the pass if we can use it. :yay:

We plan on USH the third weekend in January.

What will the wait times be? Should we gat a FOLP? If so does anyone know the vost of the upgrade from the City Pass?

We were there this past Wed. and the longest wait we had was 30 minutes for Back to the Future. Mummy was 10 minutes, studio tour was 5 minutes. I think we totally lucked out since the weather was "iffy" that day. It had rained the night before, was sunny that morning, and sprinkled some that afternoon while we were at the park. We didn't get there until about 10:30 due to 2 different accidents on the freeways (LONGEST drive I've ever had from Mission Viejo to Hollywood). We saw everything we wanted to by 4pm.

Also, as for the pass. We saw people using the VIP passes to go to the front of the line. I'm thinking that this is different from the front of the line pass, since we too read that they were blacked out during the time we were at the park (our tickets came with one front of the line pass that we didn't use - we bought 2 day passes for $41 /each through the AAA website).

There are 2 levels of front of the line pass the one is date restricted and a little bit less expensive. The other is not date restricted. You get a pass good for one year (without the front of the line priveledges) when you use your ticket.

There is also a VIP package that includes a backstage tour and front of the line priveledges.

Another question. Ok, I will be at USH, the 18th, and 19th of April. I read that USh. Is offering tickets buy one day get the rest of 2007 free. Ok, I think the ticket was around 6o. What I want to know is the FOL pass. 79 dollars on top of the 60 dollars. Or do I buy one or the other. I am assuming i would need two passes at 79 since i am attending two days. I am confused. Someone help.

If you buy the FOL passes for $79, you get the one day as front of the line. The offer of the rest of 2007 is a regular park pass, you only have to pay the one fee, it's a great deal...especially if you lived near there. If you like Jay Leno USH also offers free guarantee tickets to see a taping of his show. Min. age is 16, our family went and had a blast. Have fun
