Our room ready text had come awhile back. It was a ground floor room in the Broadway section. We had no clue where this was. Andi found it on the map they text you with the room ready notification. It felt really far from the lobby especially schlepping in rain with all our luggage.

Never stayed in that section. It does sound kind of far.

It was 7:45pm when we checked in for our reservation, perfect timing! I usually never make an ADR on travel day just because it is a gamble but this worked!

Timed it perfect. I try not to make a reservation on arrival day too.

The CM there said the bakery was closed because of an air conditioner problem. Noooo! She said hopefully the bakery will be open in 1-2 days. I was disappointed but knew we would try another day.

Oh noooo! I remember reading about this. We never made it to DS this last trip.

Andi and I have some favorites here and we stuck with those.

These look good.

Once we got back and not in such a hurry, I really liked the Broadway section. It was really quiet back there and decorated very nice! We looked around the area some before calling it a night. The AS Music is refurbished now like the PoP Century, however, these rooms are smaller than Pop.

I did walk around in the Broadway section on our 2015 trip but that was so long ago I don't remember much. I didn't realize the rooms were smaller than Pop. I do like that they are refurbished. We stayed in Jazz in 2021.

I’m glad your travel day was mostly uneventful (minus the air freshener and the rain). We purchased Comfort+ seats for the first time for next year and I’m excited for the early boarding and being close to the front of the plane.

I always book a dinner ADR for our travel day - I want to eat in as many places as possible! I’m glad you made it just in time. It’s a bummer Gideon’s was closed but I’m glad you found a substitute dessert. Dessert is the most important part of the meal!

1. Good. That area just never worked. At least not for me and I know not for a lot of other people.

I’m with you on the Dinoland carnival area, fine with that leaving but I do love the ride and the back area where the ride is. I hear it will become the Indiana Jones ride. I like that ride but why the same as Disneyland keep Dinosaur . Should I make protest signs and stage one when I return?

Oops I meant to say the room felt smaller than Pop, they are all actually the same size, 260 square feet. I don’t know why it felt smaller maybe I just noticed at AS Music how close the bed is to the TV dresser stand, very little space between the two. The bathroom seemed smaller as well. I don’t know why.

Dinner sounded relaxing and delicious. You can't ask for a better arrival day evening. Although, that is a bummer about the Gideon's A/C. I saw that news and felt bad for everyone visiting and trying to go to Gideon's during that timeframe. I hope you were able to make it back there!

A bus was at the stop, full to the brim, however, the bus driver said squeeze in and let these two on!

It isn't ideal but it is nice when the bus driver tries to get everyone on. Sometimes it is so frustrating watching people not move back all the way.

I got a traditional lime one and Andi had a spicy one! It was delicious!

I love a spicy margarita!!!

Dinoland is getting re themed I was hoping the ride would stay but it sounds like, in about 5 years it might be gone! Sarcasm here lol Knowing how long it takes Disney to change anything, I believe I will ride Dinosaur again!

I won't believe any of what they are talking about until it actually happens. All of the plans could change. I mean we still have Spaceship Earth just as it is.

We found our room and literally dropped off the suitcases and headed to the bus stop. The rain was mostly just a drizzle by the time we made it to DS.

Ugh! Hope you had a raincoat or umbrella in your carry on!

We sat down and relaxed. We both ordered a margarita. I got a traditional lime one and Andi had a spicy one! It was delicious!

Love Frontera Concina! The margaritas are delicious there!

We were so excited to be here. Full and content, we went over to Sprinkles to get more food, haha We got the mini cupcake sampler, 3 tiny cupcakes, 1 chocolate, 1 vanilla sprinkles, and 1 red velvet. We also go 2 regular cupcakes. Strawberry and Red Velvet. I love the strawberry one. We saved these for morning! Andi also got the Dole Whip Frose at Wine Bar George’s outside window. This old lady was content with my one margarita. I did take a sip and it is delicious!

It really was a perfect evening, despite the rain and Gideon’s being closed! It was so nice to be in our happy place together again! Spoiler we did get cookies and cold brew from Gideons!

It isn't ideal but it is nice when the bus driver tries to get everyone on. Sometimes it is so frustrating watching people not move back all the way.

I was happy it worked out despite being a little smushed! I know so many people stop 1/2 way down and don’t go any further

9/2/23 Our first full day at Disney!

It is wonderful to wake up at Disney, I love it especially when your trip is just beginning.

We slept well, we both wear earplugs and wow that makes a big difference! I wouldn’t want to be hard of hearing but it is very nice to be “deaf” at night!

Our plan was Hollywood Studios. I made some hefty purchases at 0700! Warning ️ this may cause anxiety for some, lol

I will preface this with, I did budget for Genie with discounted gift cards. I still don’t like it and it is crazy expensive to decrease your wait times.

I purchased Genie + at $25.00 a person for park hopping. *note, the price was $25 for just DHS or PH option. I purchased a fancy ride for Rise of the Resistance at a ridiculous price of $22.00 per person. I also purchased a fancy ride for Tron at MK for $20.00 a person. So for the mere price of $134.00 before tax, we were ready for the day. I didn’t do this everyday and you can close your mouth now, lol

Our plan was to be at Hollywood around 9am. Park opened at 8:30 for resort guests. I had made a Slinky Dog FP for 11:00-12:00. I was ready for a nap after making all these reservations

We had the mini cupcakes for our breakfast, called bell service to pick up our luggage and headed out. We liked staying at AS Music for one night. I only have AS Sports left of the value resorts now.

We decided to take a Lyft to the park. We arrived right before 9am.

Our plan was to ride MMRR first. It was a walk on. We watched the pre show and then nothing. We waited for awhile and the CM announced technical difficulties. We were escorted out with a FP on our magic band for any ride except Rise and SDD.

We decided to go and ride TSMM. We did the SB line and waited only about 15 minutes. Andi was best in vehicle and I was a beaver again! I got my lackluster results as always!

We decided to check out Galaxy’s Edge. I really wanted to see Mando and Grogu. We took our time looking around the marketplace and a few other spots and never did see him, boo

We went to SRMF and did the single rider line. We literally walked right to the room for our assignment. We were engineers, not as exciting as a pilot but it was fun!

I highly recommend single rider line if the SB wait is long.

It was time for our Rise Fancy ride! We had virtually no wait.

I do love this ride but $22.00 is a bit much. What do you all think? What price is too much for you? Let me know in the comments.

The Kylo animatronic was not working again. Disney should give a discount for that!

I was able to make another selection on the Genie. We decided to ride TSMM again. It was soon.

We also had our SDD FP for now. We headed out of GE and back into Toy Story Land.

We waited maybe 5-10 minutes for the ride! There is a weird shadow on my face in the picture. I look creepy!

Our Mania time was right after Slinky so off we went to beat our first score. I didn’t do any better, still a beaver. Andi got best in vehicle again. I think she got 240,000. Good job Andi!

I made a RnRc next. Andi would ride twice because I do not ride this. I rode it once with my son Jack many years ago and never again!

We decided to get a Mickey pretzel with cheese as a snack, before Andi went to ride.

Our pretzel was really good and there was plenty of seating behind the pretzel stand.

Andi took off for the ride and I slowly made my way to the gift shop. I have spent so much time in the RnRC gift shop over the years! I did work on our Amazon now order for the room. It was set to be delivered between 4-5pm. We did not get a room notification yet.

Andi finished her 2 rides and we decided to try and go back to MMRR and use our FP.

Our wait was only about 5 minutes to the pre show. The pre show worked and we went into the next area and guess what? More technical difficulties, ugh! People were getting escorted off the ride. We got another FP. I guess it wasn’t in the cards to ride today.

We decided to drop in at the creepy hotel for one last ride before heading to the Riviera.

Again, very little wait before we were in the pre show.

Tower was really fun and we both guessed our elevator would drop first and it did! I love this ride!

One thing I will say is the LL line was super fast at all the attractions. I think people are not buying it as much now! The SB lines were huge.

It was time to make our way to the exit for now. We looked in a few shops before heading to the Skyliner. I love this mode of transportation! It is really fast and so convenient.

We still did not have a room yet. It was time to relax at Bar Riva.

Hi Caroline - I'm glad that I found your trip report. We were at WDW Sept 9-14, so just after you.

We do have United Airlines in Duluth which flies to Chicago. I have more benefits with Delta so we use Delta the most and I really like the Minneapolis airport, way better than Chicago!

We had a flight to Hawaii which had a layover in Minneapolis. It is a nice airport.

These are the first pictures I've seen of the Broadway section. It looks better than All Star Sports.

The heavy rain from earlier this evening was the last time we saw rain for a full week! Score!!

We bought ILL for RotR for the first time and I think it was $20. We had a lot to do that day and didn't want to waste time standing in line. We had someone with us who hadn't ridden it before.

One thing I will say is the LL line was super fast at all the attractions. I think people are not buying it as much now!

$22 is fine... if you've never done it before and it's a priority. After that? Nope. Too pricey. I mean... it's one ride. I don't care how good it is.

Buy the Genie+ and fancy ride pass. I specifically budget for this. Yes, it is expensive and yes, everyone can't afford it. But you shouldn't feel guilty if you can afford it and you can use it. For my April trip, I am already budgeting to use it on days when I am starting at MK and DHS. I find I don't need it so much for AK and Epcot so I'll leave those days off (but I might do fancy ride for Guardians and FOP). Love your first day!!! Can't wait to hear more.

We decided to go and ride TSMM. We did the SB line and waited only about 15 minutes. Andi was best in vehicle and I was a beaver again! I got my lackluster results as always!

You and me both! My arm gets too tired and I end up giving up at the end!

We decided to check out Galaxy’s Edge. I really wanted to see Mando and Grogu. We took our time looking around the marketplace and a few other spots and never did see him, boo

I forgot they were even there, I'll have to look for them next week!

I do love this ride but $22.00 is a bit much. What do you all think? What price is too much for you? Let me know in the comments.

Yes, it's too much. But do I still buy it sometimes? Also yes

I made a RnRc next. Andi would ride twice because I do not ride this. I rode it once with my son Jack many years ago and never again!

Smart girl, I should have made Allie ride Incredicoaster alone!

Tower was really fun and we both guessed our elevator would drop first and it did! I love this ride!

Paying for G+ and fancy rides suck but it does make for a much more pleasant trip. We also budget for it and have cut down on some of our TS meals to make up for it.
