My wife will not be pleased. They block the castle with bushes to hide the cameras. We were there on Wednesday last year and they were filming and it was packed at MK. But always nice to see the decorations.

Ugh! We plan to do MK on Saturday morning. Luckily, we will be doing it another day too. Hopefully, people will be waiting for the shows and not the rides.

What exactly does this mean? I think we are going to MK on Friday, so will we see Christmas decorations?

It will almost 100-percent change to Christmas. The transformation starts the minute the park is "cleared" from the Halloween party.
MK will be all Christmas'd out on Nov. 2!

I'm not sure if the filming is good news or not for our trip! We love Christmas so will enjoy the decorations but obviously don't like the idea of huge crowds. We're hitting MK on Mon 30th Oct, Friday 3rd and Monday 6th, how much will the crowds impact on these days with the filming?

OH NO! We have a full day scheduled for MK for Sunday November 5th, and it is the only day we can see HEA with all the early closings of MK for parties and our FOP fast pass on another day. Will a schedule come out so we can avoid the cluster? At least this isn't our first trip...

I have noticed with some of the other expos that they have put stuff out each day. It was during the princess, they were out of something I wanted on Friday and I went back saturday morning and they had them back... not sure if this is for all events but maybe they have started listening in that aspect of giving people a chance each day....

I think our schedule seems like it won't be affected too terribly by the filming (crosses fingers)
    Tues 10/31 halloween party!
Wed 11/1 Epcot by day, AK by night
Thur 11/2 MK with pre-park BOG breakfast (sounds like it'll be Xmas decorations!) + expo
Fri 11/3 5k, then Bibbidi Bobbidi. If it's nutso I'll pull us out of MK and parkhop elsewhere after using our morning FP. Fantasmic at night.
Sat 11/4 10k and resort hopping/no park ticket, fun day.
    Sunday leaving and crying
(edited to add the chances of us adding on a park ticket day to get more F&W on Sat is high)

We also have a pre-opening BOG on 11/2. Hoping to be able to get in a ride or two on 7 Dwarfs! Probably heading over to the expo around noon to grab our packages, then a late lunch/early dinner at Le Cellier.

We'll be trying for that seven dwarfs ride too! We will be trying for expo after lunch as well...aiming for afternoon to let all the madness die down at least a little bit since we aren't willing to wait in huge merch lines.
If you check out my journal there's tons of pics of what I look like, so if you see me at breakfast or mine train PLEASE SAY HI!!!!

Yeah it's a little hard to change my plans now around the MK christmas taping, all my dining and fastpasses have been set. I can only hope that it doesn't affect things too much, and that people will be drawn away from attractions and toward the parade! I for one have zero interest in that parade.

Potentially daft question but why does filming drive the crowds up so much....?

I think people show up to be part of the festivities or maybe just with hopes of being on TV. And then there are the fans of the performers who show up to see them. I've read stories of people just standing around all day while they did multiple takes to get the shots they wanted. Really don't know how much of an attendance bump there is due to this though.

When they still did footage of the parade on Mainstreet USA in MK at WDW, then that caused blockage problems for the standard day guest. But since they now air the Disneyland parade and use Walt Disney World for the 'special moments' it isn't such a big thing--except blocking the castle.

@Keels are you travelling right this moment? Because I just got my waiver emailed to me! Everyone go check your inboxes.

PS. I have no corral knowledge until I get there because no half for me.
