As this is our first ever cruise and for my 40th birthday, we splurged on the Cat V on 2/2.

Wonder 2/24/19 (Westbound Panama Canal) 9B 2 adults $4884 total (2029 each, and port fees/taxes of 827) Yes to OBB/no ins/no transfers/no air
This was with a cabin assignment-- I see that this morning, there is only choice of oceanview cabins on deck 1, and the rest are GTY.
We ended up with a connecting room-- I hope to change it to a non-connecting.
My poor TA was on the phone for 5 hours... she said it's not even that bad for free dining.

We had a connecting room on our last cruise (7-day eastern) and didn't even notice. Never heard our neighbors at all. We were a bit worried, but the noise in the hall was much much worse than the nothing we heard from next door.

Thanks-- glad to hear that. Not my preference to have the connecting room, but unless something else opens up, we'll manage, though there is also the notion that I'm taking up a connecting room that someone might want for a family trip. We'll see how things go after people start having their holds expire after the opening day frenzy.
