T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

sorry for the multiple post but can you help us with the normal attire for the T-Day cruise...Also, are there ironing boards, laundry rooms and/or dry cleaning available?

Yes some decks have laundry rooms and there are ironing boards. They do have laundry service if you need it.

Attire: We have always been good with shorts and a t-shirt it tank top. We bring a sweatshirt as it does get breezy on deck. We keep one pair of long pants just in case. There us a semi casual night (dress for ladies or nice shirt for men some where ties and some do not). And formal night is thanksgiving. This is a more formal dress and most men wear a suit or even a tux.

Other than that no jeans or shorts to dinner. Palo us the only place where they strictly enforce the dress code.

We have gone swimming on all the islands and the ship so definately pack your suit.

Ok I must go get ready for a scout trip to an Indian Pow-Wow

Good morning everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the extra hour of sleep!

I am jd99's wife. So excited that our cruise is less than 2 weeks away! Just wanted to stop in and say hello.

Have a great day and happy cruise planning!

I've been reading through the forum and have been able to get many answers that I have been looking for. I see how everyone is so friendly so I had to register. My DGF and I will be going on our first cruise/vacation together and would love any help to make this experience even better than we are anticipating. :cool1:

Welcome aboard!

If only my youngest used that extra hour of sleep. Though I guess this will make her easier to get up for school, just harder to put to bed tonight.

My youngest got up early today too. The time change always gets me mixed up. I do better when I change time zones for travel then when it changes at home... I think they should be easier to get to bed because 9:00 tonight will be 10:00 in their minds - however - mine always find a way to get it mixed up and reversed and then stay up later. Good luck! Vacation coming soon!

Good morning all! We are soooooo excited, we can hardly stand the waiting now.

In addition to the time change last night, we felt the tremors from the earthquake in Oklahoma here in Kansas City!!! I always felt lucky that we only had to deal with tornadoes. It was really strange to feel the beds shaking and watching things on the dresser wiggle. :)

We can't decide what to do on St. Maarten. We would kind of like to see Maho beach, but probably not for the whole day. We could skip that too. Can anyone suggest something they have enjoyed?

Thanks,
Gretchen

Mine gets hyper if she goes past her bed time and it's harder to get her to sleep. Maybe I'll just put her to bed at her usual time. Gives me more downtime at night. Though it will all go out the window when we are on the cruise. She will want to stay up all night long.

The trip report I read was the "October 8th Eastern with Photos and Navigators". It was great!! All of the Navigators and lots of neat photos of our future cruise. However, when I just tried to look at the report again it appears that something is wrong with their photobucket account. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved!

Lisa

Lisa,

I was having trouble with that report also, I was checking it yesterday. I could see some of the pictures, but none of the navigators. It looked like a great trip. I would love to see the planes land at that beach!! Looks cool!

Just tried on my dress for formal night - it fits!:cool1::cool1:

Am so excited about how close the cruise is. Also a little stressed at how much is left to do before leaving.

I saw it discussed early on - are we still planning to get together on sail day to officially say hello?

This is an amazing thread, check it out. It answers every imaginable question, and probably a few you haven't thought of yet. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!

Thank you for the link! We will get to studying. We are looking forward to a fun, relaxing week. How is the Palo Brunch? We made reservations for the Palo Dinner, but were unable to for the Brunch. Enjoy your day!

For tips on all excursions together with just about anything associated with the ships, we recommend the Disney Passporter books and web site. St. Maarten has lots of options including beaches, shopping, casinos and our favorite the 12 meter regatta which involves "racing" the retired yachts like Stars and Stripes in the bay by Phillipsburg.

As to a meeting, or Dis-meet as it is often called, I make the same suggestion as always...Deck 10 Mid-ship starboard side (ie overlooking the dock) at about 4pm - right after the mandatory drill leading into the sailaway party, which you can see on Deck 9 below. Larry Long and I are always the easiest to spot at 6'7" and 6'8, respectively.

I prefer the brunch to dinner. They have lots and lots to choose from.

You can try to get brunch once you are on the ship.

Ok deck 10 sail away party look for the two real tall guys. Then hand my kid over to their kids for babysitting :) She is ready to pump up the party with all her moves for the dance party since she visited me at work a weeks ago.

Both are great. If you really want to try the brunch, you can try to book it when you get on board. I do highly recommend both the dinner and brunch.

I will definitely try to make the DIS meet.

Done

Many thanks for adding us partially to the list... Sorry for the late addition, and those who do not have items no worries on this end. We really understand and are sorry to cause anyone trouble at this late date..

Our family is getting in full gear for the cruise. We did have a slight hiccup to our plans, hence the delay in booking.. Our DD's passport expires during sailing... We were told by Disney that a BC is fine for travel but a passport is always preferred. We have engaged the services of a Passport Agency to assist, but DH and I need to be both present to apply with her. We will both be in town at the same time on Wednesday run to the post office, get paper notarized, then FEDEX to DC and pray and pray it get return to us in the promised 3 day turn around.... Whew .......

@ Michelle: Listened to the awesome Disney CD you made us a couple of years ago... One of my most favorite FE gifts ever... Listening to "Reach for the Stars" really made my day !!!

This is our hardest port to decide what to do too. When here previously, we did the Under Two Flags tour. With two high schoolers missing a few days of school, I'm hoping my kids will not be doing work all the time! We had been thinking about just going to Orient Beach, but now I'm thinking of trying to book Bernard's Tour for the day. It gets such rave reviews, and it would give us a nice taste of everything.

I love the location. My favorite thing about the sailaway is watching the cast members on the dock waving with their big Mickey hands. We're not participating in the FE, but it would be nice to meet everyone and put a name and a face together.

We love both, for diffent reasons. Dinner is nice and relaxed and a great adult night out. Brunch is much more casual, but with great food and also nice adult time. Try to get brunch ressie just after you board. One of our favorites at both brunch and dinner is the Palo pizza. and of course, all the other great food.

Although Thursday night is "semi formal night", since it is Thanksgiving people still dress in formal type clothing. The semi formal menu includes lobster, however there is a traditional thanksgiving menu as well. One year Mason had a report where he had to turn in the recipe for his favorite thanksgiving dinner item--he turned in the actual thanksgiving menu from the Magic!! The menu is given as a souvenir at the end of dinner.
