They even both have the same typo: "we regret to inform you that have not been selected..."

Okay, that is too funny, too lame, and too unprofessional all in one fell swoop! I truly can't believe that. Disney really dropped the ball by picking Career Builders.

I'm almost caught up!!!

Cat -- sorry, to hear you are not in Disney. I was actually thinking of you today and saying -- woo hoo I hope she's having fun!!

Cat - so sorry you couldn't make it to WDW today. But glad you're going tomorrow and glad Bailey's happy. Since you'll be too excited to sleep tonight, and since, presumably, you're all packed, does that mean you'll be playing skeeball with us tonight?

Thanks for the good thoughts.

It's fine. Normally I'd be freaking out, but for some reason I've taken this all okay. As I said, I'll only miss out on a few hours, and it will cost me less. :)

Can't skeeball right now - have a couple of cat-o-tar requests to fill!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the intro on the 1st page of this thread. Check it out and see what you think.

Okay, everyone...drum roll please...

Both biological parents signed over their rights before we went into the courtroom. It was sad and hard. Lots of tears from all of us. They both wanted so much to raise her, but really and truly, she would not have been safe with them. In addition, she's developmentally delayed in speech and physical tasks, and neither parent would have realized that and been able to get her the help she needed. We're not perfect parents by any stretch of the imagination, but she will be safe and we'll provide every opportunity for her to reach her full potential. Besides that, she's in our hearts and we love her so much. We are now free to start adoption proceedings which will hopefully be completed by sometime this summer. Had I known that the prayers and pixie dust from this group would have produced such immediate and astonishing results, I would have asked for them long ago! Thanks to you all for your prayers and good thoughts.

I'm sorry to bring out the family photos, but I just can't resist one more. She's almost our little girl now.

Ok kids! It's time for a Quiz!

1. Anyone remember the really great deal on airfare that Cat got on trip to Orlando?

2. Anyone been watching the news today, about American Airlines?

3. Anyone want to guess where Cat is not going Tonight?

4. But who wants to be assured she will make it tomorrow?

Very good class! You all answered correctly!

Seriously, got to the airport, and even though my flight to Dallas would have been okay, the flight to Orlando was cancelled cuz of the inspections. If I flew to Dallas tonight, I wouldn't get to Orlando until noon tomorrow.

So they booked me on a Continental Flight leaving here at 5:35am tomorrow, arriving in Orlando at 10:55am.

I just spent an hour on the phone with Travelocity, and they managed to get Disney to not charge me for the hotel tonight!

So in the long run, I'll only lose a few hours, but save some bucks.

And Bailey, my cat is so happy I'm home!

So there you go...what's been happening here?

Cat
Phew! Thankfully they were able to book you on a flight in the a.m.!

Calliaz and Mrs. Fleagle (and anyone else)

We just bought DVC last year and I can tell you it was one of the best things we've done. Between last year's 2BR at BCV, 1BR at AKV, this year's 1BR at BCV and those extra things like discount on annual passes, food savings, W/D savings, etc, we have already made up 30% of the initial cost (that's 30% in one year!) Another 2-3 more years, and it will have practically paid for itself!

I can send you (or post here if anyone is really interested) my little "Are you a candidate for DVC?" list.

Marshay, I would like your list too if you don't mind. We talked to someone last year at DTD about joining. We were scheduled to go on a tour but decided not to. Even though we were offered free kid-sitting and Fast Passes for going, we didn't want to miss any time in the parks. We might try it again this year when we go in September. We have a rest day scheduled in and I think I could find enough time to go on a tour. For our three trips to WDW, I figured we will have spent over $10,000 by the end of our trip this year. That would have been a real good start on a DVC membership!!

Sorry to be a party pooper (or is that piddler?) but I'm off to bed. Sweet Dreams everyone.

So wonderful! Congratulations to the new family to be! :grouphug:

besides, you're the queen of ...explaining

Hmmmm.... Sounds like something my mom would say! ('Seems like I forever had a big explanation anytime I was about to get in trouble... )

Thanks, btw. I actually took your full comment as a compliment.

I've been to two terminations of the parents' rights of foster kids, both for sexual abuse, all of the children very young. You are correct, it is difficult for all involved. I was a Court Appointed Special Advocate before I became MFT. My thoughts are with you and with your love for this child.

I'll go first! (Gotta love those bangs!!)

Love it! (Thanks for posting.)

I'll play, but first I have to scrounge up a photo. (All of my yearbooks and senior-year portraits are at my folks' house.) I'm bound to have something on-hand, though... I'll have to check.
