What's so bad about BLT Standard Ground Floor Units?

seems like most posts dislike groundfloor for standards - what do people normally request then?

as high as possible.

i've read a lot of people ask for even numbered rooms so they are aren't facing the inside.

So on the outside there aren't people walking by the room if you're on the first floor? That issue is mostly with the inside? Wouldn't it be nice to have a pool view though? I need to go find some pictures. This is my only chance to convince hubby that there is life beyond the Boardwalk.
