Will this work?

I went to WDW in 1/01 and used the Sunshine Getaway package, which included a daily breakfast. There were two of us. Each time, the server only wanted one card and one signature. I was wondering if this works the same with other packages.

The next time I go there will be four of us. I was thinking about getting two rooms at a moderate resort. For the first room, I was going to get the Deluxe Magic package and for the other a room only reservation and park hopper passes.

First, I was wondering if it is possible for all four of us to share meals using the two features from the Deluxe Magic package. That would save a lot in meal expenses to share the drinks, appetizer, entree, and desert.

Next, there will be two females and two males. I was wondering if it would be possible to share the features of the package (i.e., tours, golf, etc.). Can four people rent a surrey bike with one feature?

Has anyone ever done anything like this? Do they ask for proof of ID when using the features? Of course, we would not be sharing the UMPs, just the features.

I know this isn't on the "up and up," but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Thanks so much

Just one question.

Where do you draw the line on doing things that are not on the up and up?

It sounds to me as if you only want to pay for 2 meals but get 4, unless I'm misreading your post.

What difference is there between that and say buying one candy bar in a store and just slipping another one in your pocket?

Please let me know if I totally misread what you meant.

WDWTrekker, I agree with you!

I'm sure Disney is on the "up and up" with that idea.

DH and I have occasion shared meals when we purchase them only due to the fact they are large portions (ie, Rainforest). They have never said no to us. We also share with our 9 DD for the same reason at WDW and around here(kiddie meals are too small now plus they only have pizza, chix fingers, etc). I think I would be a little embarrassed about always sharing meals, however, when they are with a package and I don't believe WDW intentions were for people to do that. We also go to a lot of buffet style meals in which sharing would definiately not be allowed.

:( Sorry

I would like to think this board is about how to save money, not how to steal or cheat your way into a cheap vacation. I am sorry, but you are trying to "steal" two free meals everyday if I am understanding you correctly. I believe this will be met with distaste by most posters on this board. Sorry.

sorry there, but i think you have gotten your answer. I think that not only does this board not like the idea but I can guarantee that disney will not even consider this UP and UP. You may want to try something else!!! I mean I am all for a bargin but come one cheating the Mouse is a definate NO NO in my book. After all the pleasure WDW has given me (and i have only been once as an adult but more as a child) I could never cheat them out of a paid meal no matter how bad I like a deal.

Your question isn't clear. Are you trying to use 2 vouchers for 4 meals (a no-no) or are you asking if 4 people can share 2 meals. That wouldn't be allowed for any meal that is a buffet, as a buffet (or probably one that allows for free seconds). You really should pay for coffee for the extra people and something for rolls, danish etc. That will only work for a restaurant that offers a la carte items.
There is nothing with 4 people going to IHOP 2 people ordering breakfast and the other 2 ordering coffee and splitting the food. Some places may impose a plate charge and you should increase your tip.

Disney is way ahead you. What you did LAST time WAS ON THE UP AND UP!!!! Your husband and your cards are linked together. They don't need both cards to debit your food, just one. There were 2 breakfasts on that ACCOUNT and you got 2 breakfasts. Believe me if you had tried to order breakfast somewhere else with the other card that morning they would have told you that you would have to pay because the two breakfast features had already been used for that day. They give you separate cards in case someone in the group wants to eat later or in a different location. And many times these same cards are room keys.
And yes it works this way with all the packages. When you make your reservation everyone in the party will receive a room key with all the features lumbed together. So if you give a key to the other couple and they get to breakfast before you, then you'll end up paying for breakfast. And most importantly one of you WILL get in trouble. Because the card was swiped (just like the hopper pass) twice for the same feature it will be red flagged and both cards will be unusable. How will eat for the rest of your trip? Get in the room, go to the parks etc, etc...Someone will have to do some fast talking trying to explain whats going on.
Now if you mean can you order two meals and get 4 plates? If it's not a buffet of course. You paid for the food it's yours to split however you like. Now they may not allow you to split the drinks. Because their drinks like soda and coffee are refillable. But, I don't think that's what you're talking about based on all the info about 2 cards and only 1 swiping.
As for the entertainment, when you go to play golf they are going to ask for ONE card. They don't need two unless there are two different account. And when you give them the ONE card they are going to debit the two features and the other couple is going to have to pay.
Disney is way ahead of you. People have tried all sorts of things with the hopper and fast pass. None of them work. Just do the right thing and save yourself and your friends some embarressment. Save up and pay for your vacation, stay within the Disney guidelines and have a good time.
Also if your not sure if you're doing something wrong just call Disney or your travel agent. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Gee, I am so sorry I offended everyone. I don't think I made myself clear. Please let me try to explain.

Regarding meals: The meals that are included in these packages are very large. I know there is no sharing with character meals. I wasn't even considering those.

Breakfast for instance includes a hot beverage, juice, a bakery item or fruit, and an entry. I thought we could share one feature each as follows: Jill and George get coffee and juice on a separate ticket and pay for them. George and my husband share a bagel and an omlet with my husband's breakfast feature. Jill and I do the same with my breakfast feature.

Dinner for instance includes a coffee or tea, soda, soup or salad, an appetizer, an entree, and dessert. I thought we could share one feature each as follows: Jill and George get two sodas, two coffees, and one dessert on a separate ticket and pay for them. George and my husband share my husband's feature by ordering soup for my husband, shrimp cocktail for George, and a pasta dish to share. Jill and I do the same using my dinner feature.

As for recreation, I guess I was out of bounds on that and I am sorry. I was mostly curious about renting a surrey bike for four and/or boats. If we were to rent one of these, is that one feature or two features and the other couple pay separately. I did ask about tours. I thought my husband and I could do a tour and on a separate day Jill and George could do one. I was only asking. I don't think I would do that, but I am curious about the bikes and boats.

Again, I apologize. I wasn't trying to get four meals by paying for two. I just was wondering that since the meals are so large and we would be ordering them anyway if we could share them like in the examples above.

Thanks again
