Would You Stay in an Adults-Only Disney Resort?

Virgin cruise lines has several adults only cruises now. I don't know that a once a year Disney cruise would be necessary. I think for me, the idea of a Disney cruise without kids sounds weird but a hotel at the world doesn't. A cruise ship is just too small of a place and it is designed to be for kids and families so to adapt it once a year would feel weird. Walking by the empty spaces allocated for kid activities and such...

Personally, I feel like more places in Vegas should be adults only. They turned that place into a weird evil Disney attempt when I was a kid.
Are you talking about Virgin Voyages? They are strictly an adults-only (18+) cruise line with the potential in the future of adding in non-adults only. Right now though they only have 3 ships and the last one just entered service over the summer.

I'll add that Disney has def. designed their cruise ship for kids of course but a cruise ship itself not necessarily. The cruise company we went on while they don't prohibit kids they do not at all design their ships for them. They don't have kids activities on board and no spaces are dedicated for kids at all. I do think you're onto something about trying to do an adults only cruise with Disney but I think a one a year one would be fine, walking by empty spaces may not happen if they did pop up events in some or all of them at one point or another. And one a year would be easy enough to adapt. Not saying it's the route Disney would go but I could see it appealing to people.

We absolutely would stay at an adult only Disney resort! Our kids are grown but DH & I still go several times a year. We don't mind kids at all. I want to stay at all of the Disney resorts so this would just be another option for us to try!

Is it better to say I'm a teacher and love being around kids in general? 😉 Nor did I say Disney couldn't have an adult only hotel, just that I wouldn't be interested... so get over my comment k

But hey friend thanks for your reply it's totally added value to my life 👍
Yea, your reply has added so much value to everyone else's life as well. Good on you.
So you can get over your own comment. K, Thanks 8-)

Absolutely. I'm not a kid hater but as someone who doesn't have any or travel with them it's the main reason I've never stayed at a Value resort. I'd just like some quiet at the pool and not hearing crying, yelling and running in the early morning hours.

Edited to add: I wouldn't want a party atmosphere either. Give me the Port Orleans vibe as it is but without kids? Totally in.

Yes, I would definitely stay here! I am also in favour of the airline who now plans to have kid-free zones in airplanes. :D
I would be in favour of adult-only restaurants, (movie)-theaters, pools and a bunch of other things.

Don't hate them, I just have a very low tolerance level for screaming and running around.

Wow you're hilarious! Real mature, good for you! Attack someone for saying they like spending time with their kids... sad

Who did I attack and what did I even say to get you so riled up??
All I said was “it isn’t about YOUR kids” and you came at me like I called you names or something. Maybe you should go re-read it or something. I’m really not sure why your so hostile about it.
Do you get what that means when I say not your kids… in other words everyone likes their own kids, it’s about other kids. lol

Jeez. :duck:

Yes... Especially since my kids are almost adults now. But the kids at resorts don't bother me either.

If a Disney adult-only resort is at least a moderate, I would absolutely try it! We aren't kids hater but I think it will be a good option for non-park days. I know I have friends that would absolutely ditch their kids and have an adult-only Disney trip. Not that they don't like going with their kids, but just different experience. I can totally see parents going for a weekend getaway (if you live close enough), staying at the adult-only resort to enjoy the pool and whatever amenities they have to offer, going to DS wine and dine, no parks and just relax.
Now I have said this before to many....if DCL offers an adult-only itinerary once in awhile, I for sure will be hopping on that ship! In fact, we chatted about this with our dinner tablemates on the Wish and they also said they would love it. Will it ever happen for both resort and DCL? I am 1000% sure the chance will be way higher for any of us to win the lotto instead...haha :rolleyes1:rotfl:

Challenge accepted :)

As a person who works in the school system, I know I'd love a nice adult only space at Disney. I still can't understand why children are allowed in the bars at WDW. I'd settle for adult only bars! At least I could curse like a sailor and indulge in some adult beverages without being side-eyed. Oh and sit at the bar without going elbow-to-elbow with a toddler. That's just so wrong... IMO

I bet an adults-only Disney resort would still require me to wear pants. :(
Would depend...maybe they would have a clothing optional area. On our first NCL cruise many many years ago it was the most popular deck, I think it was due to the fact the best bartender onboard worked that deck;)

Children are no more disruptive than many adults. Personally, babies and small children tend to cry because they have no other option, or they have not yet learned to regulate their emotions. I empathize. Infants tend to cry because they are hungry/in pain and that is the only way they can communicate. I empathize.

Adults are often loud due to over-intoxication.
I was on a train the other day when a group of like 30 first graders came onboard with their teachers. My God, they were loud. No filter or quiet voices. Thankfully they were only on for the last leg, maybe 15 minutes.

This is like a bad sit-com. How many times are people going to write versions of this:
"I'm not a kid hater.... but I hate being around kids".
"I'm not a kid hater.... but I'd love having no kids around".

Not sure why you quoted me, but I havea funny story of my own.

Was once on a funny filed trip/nature walk. The kindergarteners were a bit loud, but the adult leader was far LOUDER! The kids were excited to see squirrels and fall leaves, but they were eager to hear her, and were just overall enthusiastic to be outdoors. The woman leading the walk kept yelling, "IF YOU AREN'T QUIET WE WON'T SEE ANY ANIMALS! YOU WILL SCARE THEM AWAY!"

If anyone was scaring off animals, it was 100% her. She also had the very annoying habit of continuously talking down to everyone. She kept warning them to be careful where they stepped and all, while not doing herself what she was telling us to do. I held my tongue, but our escort was very annoying.

Just as we were almost to the nature center, just as she was AGAIN shouting something inane while walking backwards, she nearly stepped on the biggest black rat snake I have ever seen! It was huge!

She just about jumped out of her skin!

It was absolutely hilarious! The kids were overjoyed to see such a big snake. As annoying as she had been, the students had an excellent story to tell everyone, so it made up for having to endure her.
