I think the reason WDW did this was because it was overwelmingly popular and they saw the chance to make a few more bucks & jumped on it. I think if the program was originally set up with the new flat price program and it failed,they would have reverted it to what the old system was, (that statement is probably clear as mud). I look at it this way: Fantasmic had SRO, but MGM resteraunts were empty. WDW offered free passes with lunch/diner, now SRO at both Fantasmic & BD,H&V,MMR. Last step, take away the freebie,increase the sale price. This is capitalism & marketing at its All American best. What business would pass up an opportunity like this.
