You May Now Kiss the Groom - Our May '18 Honeymoon PTR!

We have done both lunch and dinner. Both are good but dinner is much better IMO. Lunch is a quick service but I would say nicer then the other quick services. Dinner is a really nice dinner and you get to see the Beast as long as they are still doing that. Since you have never been their take which ever one you can get. The place it self is awesome and worth just going.

I’m taking your input to heart. I’ll keep trying for BOG lunch if not dinner. Seeing it is something I really want to do.

I saw you have a TBD dinner in AK and wanted to suggest Tiffins! It's near the bridge to Pandora and is new within the last year, I think? We had two AMAZING meals there in May- the food is inspired by the lands of Animal Kingdom and the whole restaurant is decorated with items the park creators brought back from various regions of the world. I've tried every dessert they have and could not pick a favorite- they were all amazing! It's a signature restaurant, so a little pricey but worth it!

Another thing you could consider for your departure day is Brunch at California Grill (they only serve brunch on Sunday). It's around $80 per person and you get mimosas, a breakfast buffet, and you can order entrees off the menu as well. We are doing this the day after our DFTW in late April, so I haven't been (yet), but I've read nothing but amazing reviews!

And I don't know if dessert parties are your thing, but the new "Frozen Ever After" DP in Epcot has been getting great reviews. I've been wanting to go, but it was sold out for our last trip. They added seating to the party, the desserts are Frozen themed, and there are alcoholic beverages. Then you get escorted to ride FEA after the fireworks! I don't think dates have been released past February, but keep looking if you are interested!

Going along with Dessert Parties, I just booked the "Enchanted Evening Honeymoon Package" for our honeymoon. It includes honeymoon themed luggage tags and magic bands and 2 tickets to the MK Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing (if you haven't seen the new Happily Ever After Fireworks this is the BEST viewing area!!!) It also includes a "special treat" that I think we will get at the DP.

Thanks for reading and for your post! Welcome! As soon as I read your post, I began researching the things you mentioned. I talked to DFi and we went ahead and booked Tiffin's on June 7th in AK.

I'm not sure if we'll do the FEA DP because we only plan to be at EPCOT for Illuminations one night and we'll be with a big group of people. The rest of our visits will be earlier in the day. And, I'm still contemplating the possibility of doing a fireworks cruise. We like the idea of our friends being able to participate because up to 8 or 10 can join for the same price as two. I'll keep you posted on that, though.

I was completely interested in the honeymoon package you mentioned. I checked it out, and ended up booking it just a bit ago through the reservations call center for June 6th! One one of our MK days, it was available so that worked out perfectly. Thanks so much for sharing the information with me, as we would never have known about it otherwise. I'm continuously amazed at how many experiences Disney offers that most people would never know about.

So back to wedding planning! Corey isn't much into details, so he's been letting me handle most of the décor for the wedding. That being said, I'm torn on what to do for escort cards. Basically, I'm down to two options, so I need your help!

First, the table will be set with silverware, a champagne flute, a salad plate and a napkin under the plate (something like this): Though the napkin will be Teal while the flowers will be Orange.

We will have table numbers that look like this: (We will have a table number as well as a name for the table. The names are those of famous Speakeasies and Jazz Musicianists of the time like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, etc).

So, here's where I'm torn. Do we go with escort cards that match the table numbers? This is the escort card:

MIN-WFY-PCF-001_A_PD.gif

Or do we go with Art Deco font wooden name cutouts in painted gold, like this that would be placed on the salad plates (due to size):

I love this! What a dream to honeymoon in Disney! I can't see your pictures for some reason but I am sure they are just lovely! Awesome job pulling off the proposal! Can't wait to read more!

ALSO - you HAVE To go to Trader Sams if you haven't been before. The atmosphere is amazing. We spend literally hours there every night of our trip!

Via Napoli is also amazing and Tusker House for breakfast is my hands down favorite!

Welcome! And thanks for following along, though I'm sorry you can't see the pictures. We did take your recommendation and now we're scheduled to visit Trader Sam's on June 6th. We're planning on arriving 45 - 60 minutes before it opens at 4 so we can get it in. I'm hoping that'll be enough time to get in line. Not sure, as I've never visited. Any thoughts on that?

Anyway, we're going to visit Trader Sam's before we have the HEA Dessert Party that evening in the MK. We added that as part of the honeymoon package they now offer through the end of 2018. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

AWESOME! So glad you decided to visit! June 6th is a Wednesday but it is also during the summer so I have no idea if there will be crowds or not. Regardless, getting there early like you said will definitely get you seats. The place holds about 50 or so people so I really think you will be fine! Make sure to check out which drinks are interactive, it makes the place that much more fun! I HIGHLY recommend the UH OA, such a fun drink!

The HEA Dessert Party sounds awesome, I am sure you will have a fabulous time and you can take the monorail or the boat directly to MK from the Poly so definite win/win!

Your plans sound great! I think it will be a good plan to do both the go-go-go and rest and relax! That's what my Husband and I did on our honeymoon and honestly it was the best thing! I also love all the suggestions that you've gotten from other DISers to add, such as the dinner in the sky.

The second link didn't work for me, but I do really like the first escort cards! They are really sleek which I think fits the style perfectly!

I agree. the trip wouldn't be the same without some Go-go-go, but the rest and relax will be nice too! When I get home I will be able to upload a picture of the gold art deco font wood cutouts so you can see them. I really am torn. I love the escort cards as well. And I'm so thankful for the all the input I've gotten already from other Disers. Two of the best experiences we've booked came from others' suggestions. That's what I love these boards.

I can open the link but it is just coming up as an Esty page in general not with the what you are trying to show us.

Here are some pics since the link didn't work: (it'd be the gold version)

CONTINUE TO MORE WEDDING PLANNING WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP!

So excited you booked the honeymoon package!! We are going on April 30th so I'll be sure to write a review! And I'll think you'll LOVE Tiffins.. I forgot to mention they have a separate bar/lounge area (I think it's called the Nomad Lounge?) if you want to grab drinks before. They had some unique cocktails!

The fireworks cruise would be a really good idea (especially since you can split the cost with others). Definitely gets my vote!

And I really like the gold cutout games as escort cards! We are doing open seating at our wedding mainly because it's at Disney and I still have NO idea who is actually going to come.. so trying to do a seating chart would drive me insane LOL... BUT I saw similar gold cutouts on Etsy and almost did assigned seating just so I could use them :rotfl:

I'm so excited to follow along with your wedding and honeymoon plans!

I'm so excited to follow along with your wedding and honeymoon plans!

I've been to Nomad Lounge, which I found to be really awesome last year during our visit. But we've never eaten in Tiffin's and honestly never gave it a thought before. DFi and I were just discussing the fireworks cruise. We were talking about axing that and just upgrading to AKL when I found out that I'm getting a little extra cash in February as a bonus. Now I'm torn: Fireworks cruise or upgrade from POR to AKL?

I like the gold cutouts. And surprisingly, they cost the same as the escort cards. But as much as I love them, I'm just not sure because I like the matching cards. I just worry that I will have to have everyone's name (including plus ones) to make the cutouts work. But they're so unique compared to cardboard place cards. Oh first world problems! :upsidedow But glad you're along for the ride! :welcome:

Joining in! I majorly teared up reading your engagement story!! Soooo sweet.

You have such a great trip planned! I love the balance of fun and relaxation! What spa are you going to go to?

I think I also prefer the traditional escort cards. I think they go well with your theme.

:welcome: I'm glad you're here for the ride! I'm so looking forward to this Disneymoon. For the spa, we're getting a couples massage at the Grand Floridian Senses Spa!

Followed by some pool time, of course! :yay:

So, DFi and I just had a conversation about upgrading resorts. I found out I'm getting a bonus to be paid out in February. We decided to trade in the fireworks cruise we were going to do for an upgraded resort since we'll have the extra bit of income. As a result, we're now staying at a different resort!

So excited! I've only ever stayed there once, but I loved it. That was the time we happened to be neighbors with Snooki... that gal from Jersey Shore back in the day. That in itself was an interesting story. Snooki's dad wore a white ribbed A-frame tank top (what most people consider an under-shirt) that had the words "Snooki's Papa" written in black sharpie on it. So classy! :rolleyes1

Anyway, this will be Corey's favorite resort we will have stayed at - he just doesn't know it yet because he's never experienced AKL before. That's right we're staying at AKL!!!! To be cost-effective, we booked a standard room. (It was over $1500.00 more than the Standard Room to get a Savannah Room - so we opted for the Standard, which will be just fine!) This trip is going to be so great! Can't wait for those words "Welcome Home!"

CONTINUE TO: SURPRISE!!!!!!

Woo hoo!! Your honeymoon is totally the time to splurge on a deluxe resort! I'm booked at POR in April and love it, but am having major internal debates about upgrading too!

Go for it! You only live once! That's my excuse for going big or going home every time. Of course, if I followed my own advice all the time, I'd have nothing in the bank. But I say go for it!
