Official "Friends of the Fort" Weight Loss Group!

I don't know why I thought Monday was weigh-in day, but that's what I did. I got on the scale this morning and I lost 2 lbs. It's not a lot, but it's a good start! Just think, if I could lose 2 lbs a week for six months, that's almost 50 lbs! Two lbs a week for a year is 104 lbs!! :woohoo: Ok, I'm getting ahead of myself here, but you know what I'm getting at. I think I've been looking too far ahead all the other times I've tried this. Maybe just looking at smaller goals is the way to go. Like 25 lbs at a time. Anyway, I'm off to a good start. :goodvibes

Ok, todays the big day for me, I actually meet the doctor today! And the insurance may actually pay for this one....:lmao: Wish me luck!

Congrats John...how'd it go????

I...for the first time in many years...have finally fallen into the 250 range!!! This morning I weighted in at 259......9 more pounds and they'll let me take the Fort Segway tour!!!

ROG!!!! That's fantastic!!!! Great job!!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:
Is this why you've been so silent lately? Have you just been busy losing weight and getting fit and haven't had time for us? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Good job to all those losing weight & exercising! Glad to report that I've lost 18 lbs. over the past year. If you recall, I've had some dental issues which is helping in this. I've been walking again & am going to work on resuming strength training. Also, must drink more water. Onward!

Arg! The only thing I keep losing is this thread!

I haven't lost an ounce but on the brighter side, I haven't gained either. I need to exercise and I have eaten out and overeaten a few times since I started back (at Biergarten I had enough to last me two days...oh and their Ultima Oktoberfest beer was awesome!)

Plan B: Baseball season is starting for DS so I will be able to exercise then and starting Monday we (DH, DS, and I) are planning on hitting the fitness center after work on the days when there's no baseball practice.

How's everyone doing?

well since starting the new job and being back at home after almost 5 years on the road...I've lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks!!!!...and have had little time to be on the net....maybe that's a good thing all the way around...I'm not on here enough to know if you guys still talk bad about me or not lolol...Good Luck to all in the on going battle !!!

Holy crap!!! I nver thought about this till I watched this video...and Im a little embarrassd to admit this...but I mentioned trading in a van yesterday on another thread, well....before I turned it in I had to clean it out of any personal junk that we needed out of it...and I found half a Mcdonalds burger all the way in the back of the van (damn disgusting kids!!) I dont know how old it actually was, but the van usually just sat in my driveway except for family trips and we hadnt used it for at least six months before I traded it.....and god knows how long it had been there before THAT 6 month stretch. My point is...other than being hard as a brick (like the one in the video) it didnt LOOK like it had begun to rot at all, and although I have no senese of smell...I showed it to the wife while I was complaining about how careless our kids are...and she most certainly would have screamed at me for bringing in a stinky rotting hamburger in and putting it in her face...so it apparently didnt smell like rotten beef either!!!

Really makes you think, doesnt it?:scared:

Well, that was interesting!

The only trouble I have with her whole thing is that she was comparing a McD fry with a "fry" from a raw potato. At least I don't think she said anything about cooking it, she just said she cut up a potato. Anyway, if you're going to compare things, make them equal. Maybe a fresh-fried potato would look that good in 3 yrs, too. Maybe not. Same with the hamburger.

I'm not an employee of McDonald's or anything, just trying to see the other side. Besides I try not to eat at any kind of fast food place more than maybe twice a month. I do like Big Macs though.

If you really want to get grossed out, and never eat fast food again, read the book "Fast Food Nation". I forget who wrote it, but it came out about 5 years ago. It's about the beef, chicken and potato industries and how McDonald's basically owns them all.

All this talk has me thinking "DIET!!!!" again. Only 20+ days till I have to get into a swimsuit-- in public.:faint: On the plus side, it will be in a newly refurbished pool at FW!

I am not being sarcastic ( I know....hard to believe! :rolleyes1)..... I want to thank everyone for posting all of those oh-so-unflattering pics of me from the October GG. I joined a fitness center today. This is the first time in my life I belong to a gym. I just want to say thank you for the motivation.

that's great, kelly. now join us on fat chat on monday nights :)... we have to get that going again. i have been working out good this week. i hope to keep the exercise going myself. i think a lot of us need to join a gym. i just buy my equipment and watch it get dusty (lol)... good luck!

Hi Everyone! Had to unfortunately take a hiatus from Disney and The Fort for almost 18 months....terrible divorce...but did want to tell all my old friends from this thread that I have lost 62 pounds over the last 16 months! The 4 kids and I are doing well, and will actually be in Disney in May for my daughter's Sixteenth Birthday! :) Aly
