Kay, if you still have an extra I'd like one. I meant to get one and it completely slipped my mind.

I have put you on my list. What room are you in? We can sort out payment etc on the ship.

Don't forget to add a mailing tube to your packing list :)

Congratulations on the great grades! The shoes are gorgeous, I say go for them!

Morning everyone! Found out this morning that I earned A's in both of my classes this semester. This is a HUGE relief as my professor ripped the first half of my thesis to shreds. She thankfully allowed me to rewrite it. My traditional treat to myself is a new pair of shoes when I get a 4.0 for a semester. (The last two semesters I didn't). I really want a pair of sparkly silver shoes... what do y'all think of these:

I just wanted to THANK YOU for posting this. How did you find out about this? I had no idea. Both DH and my passports expire in May. I never thought it would be an issue. Now we will be rushing to the County Clerk's office first thing tomorrow.

I am so upset I didn't know about this. We have had this cruise booked for over a year. I had plenty of time to get our passports renewed, and now I have to pay rush fees (about an additional $200)...and more stress I do not need as we count down to Christmas and the cruise.

Thank you again for posting this...I wouldn't have known otherwise!

You may want to check on it. I always was told it was 3 months not 6

An idea about mailing tubes...
What about wrapping paper rolls? I know some of them are very flimsy but I have some that are quite sturdy. In fact, one is empty and I've been meaning to throw out and it is so thick I can't even get it so smash in to condense. So, there is a reason I've been meaning to forget to throw it away! DH can cut it down for me. If it is long enough for 2 16" tubes, I'll bring the extra one along. I also have other of the same paper (from the Disney store non the less :thumbsup2) and if I happen to finish any of those off and I can bring those as well. :goodvibes

As far as helping out with the seals, I'd love to help out if I can.

What a great idea for a mailing tube. I think as long as you roll the certificate up carefully, that should be OK. It should work for perhaps one or two certificates. For those with several certificates - I would think a larger diameter roll (or more than one wrapping paper tube) would be safer,

Perhaps we should not put the adhesive seal on until we get home, that way the certificates will fit easier in the tubes. Hmmm, decisions, decisions :confused3

Kay -- if you still have one, we would love to take one off your hands.
Harole Ann -- I have the same Mickey in one of my kitchen windows.

Carly's been working on our FE gifts while I tried on clothes today. I've got piles folded on the couch in my bedroom. Tormorrow it's off to the tailors to get a few things altered.

Night all,

They have arrived!

The Panama Canal Certificates were on my porch this afternoon.

 They are a bit bigger than I was expecting :rotfl::rotfl: I didn't really expect them to be that big. Although I did see the dimensions on the website - it didn't register in my brain!

Soooo, if you have ordered a Panama Canal Certificate I would strongly recommend bringing a mailing tube to help get your certificate(s) back home safe and sound. They are much bigger than a standard 8"x10" certificate! (Can we get this info added on the front page?)

They are 15.5" by 21" so your mailing tube should be at least 16" tall and a reasonable diameter.

They are stunning though! I love them.

I also need your suggestions. They have adhesive gold seals that should be embossed before sticking them onto the certificate. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we could use to emboss the seal? I was thinking a mickeyhead would be cool, but I have no idea how to do that. Suggestions? Help!

I was also hoping that some friendly peeps would be able to help emboss the seals and put them on the certificates once we are onboard (I don't want to do it prior to being on the ship so that they stay as nice as possible as we travel across the country.) Perhaps we can meet up one evening early on and do it over a :drinking1 or two!

I have a few (4) spare certificates (with no name) if anyone who didn't get one wants one (or if someone wants to give one as a gift to their server / room host / RAK someone randomly on the ship).

Kay -- I would like one, if you have it left after the previous post requests. I'll bring $ with me & buy you a DOTD:cool1:...we are stateroom 5133!

Since the 'great poster fiasco of 2005', we always travel with a poster mailing tube! I like the wrapping paper tube idea as well, ours get turned into swordspirate:for the wrapping party!

Thanks,
Tahara

Well I got my extra DME tags today. Picked out my three ties for the trip. I leave three weeks from today.
We received our extra DME tags today also. We leave 3 weeks from tomorrow and I won't have any room to organize and pack until after Christmas...it will be a very hectic week of trying on and, if it fits, putting it in the suitcase. Praying for NO SNOW until at least the afternoon of Jan. 5th, after we take off.

Awesome news about your grades Jen. Congrats. To all the Ranger fans, no one saw this one coming. So sorry. To the Yannke fans, enjoy our ex catcher with a broken hip who can't even run yet. Sorry the Red Sox are going to blow you out if the water this year, well at least on paper.
As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I DO hope you're right. We are pretty excited about the upcoming year, although we're a little worried about our pitching. Right now we're concentrating on rooting for The Celtics and Patriots.
Congrats, Jen...enjoy your shoes.

You pitching will be fine. The Celtics will take out Miami to just lose the Lakers in the Finals again.

I checked with both DCL and DU, and they both confirmed it...6 months.

I broke down and ordered the shoes. As someone pointed out, they are Stuart Weiztman shoes, which are not cheap. BUT 6pm had one pair in the silver in my size for 50% off with free 2 day shipping. I couldn't resist. They'll be glued to my feet on the boat!

You were meant to have them Jen, that's for sure!!!:thumbsup2:rotfl2: I want to see them for real so you will have to have a viewing;)!!!

GOOD Morning, happy Cruisers!

It's a nippy 9 degrees F here, this morning.

I think the seals are probably meant to be embossed after they're on the certificates like a birth certificate would have a 'raised seal', but for me, that's a detail. Are they adhesive paper?

How big are the seals, and would you want the mickey head raised or intaglio?

I have a method by which I *think* it could be done, albeit labor intensive.

Happy Day, all!

I finally got word from our TA that she has recieved and sent on our Cruise Documents. YEAH they should be here by thursday latest! (wish I had more patience- but I've been on the edge of my seat since everyone started posting about recieving theirs.)

I am glad that you are finally getting your cruise documents.

Congratulations on your exam results. You have definitely deserved the shoes. I could never walk in them. They would just kill my ankles, but they are so pretty.

Can anyone tell me if the Dooney & Bourke handbags are sold on DCL and if so which ones?? Do they sell each design or only certain ones?

On the WBTA they had the DCL bags, black bags with multi-coloured Mickey silhouettes and tan bags with brown Mickey silhouettes.

I have today and tomorrow off and will finally get around to doing my Christmas shopping. I am going to get Graham as waterproof camera and hopefully a new carry on. I have to buy a couple of little things for some friends, but that should not be too difficult.

Some of the jewellery making supplies arrived yesterday, but not enough to be able to get started on putting together kits. Hopefully everything will have arrived when I get back to work on Friday. This time, putting the kits together will be easy as I have a lot less to do and also they are not going to be as fiddly. Last time round, I had to count out 120 minute silver beads for each kit.

I have finally got my magnets for the cruise finished. The next project is the Fish Extender gifts, but I am still waiting on a few components for this one. Everything should be here by Christmas and I am going to snuggle up, watching some old films and work on them then.

I also have 4 days off around New Year. It is kind of ironic, I am back at work on January 4th and then I am on vacation from January 5th. I find it hard to believe that in 3 weeks, I will be on a plane heading for Florida.

Anyway, traditionally I have always cooked us a 5 course meal on New Year's Eve. I have not done this since we lived in Manchester as I had to work most years and last year we were in Dubai for Christmas and New Year. I have decided to do it again this year, but with a twist. I am hoping to do with dishes that are served on the ship. Having said that, I might have to cheat for the soup course. I am so tempted to try making the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier, but hey, it is Disney after all. I also located a website that sells Rosa Regale so we will toast in the new year with this.

I dont know about usa but in the uk, it is the airlines and travel companys that state the length to have left on the passport because they have the ensure to get you home before it runs out.
Disney seem to be VERY picky about things like this, dont even get me started about the esta nonsense, I had one, I printed it but they wanted a certain type of printout, disney want this NOT USA, immigration never even looked at the printout at cape canaveral, but they wouldnt, when they beeped my passport through, the esta would show up.
This nonsense took over 2 and a half very stressfull hours at spain when I was even told I would not get on if the esta site would not work, everybodys except mine came up on the esta website, I tried to get another esta and the site said I couldnt cause I had one but a glitch in the system would not allow my to view the one I had done weeks beforehand.
I hope to redeem that horrible experiance, last time I cried and had a splitting head! this time I hope it is a happier experiance.

Just a great episode. They really did some of there better work in the later years.

I totally agree! While I do like a lot of the earlier episodes, my favorite seasons are the later ones. One of my favorite episodes is in season 5, "The Next Phase." Great episode! Also "Time's Arrow." Probably my second favorite cliff-hanger episode behind "Best of Both Worlds."

I checked with both DCL and DU, and they both confirmed it...6 months.

Thanks for the info.. I know a lot of things have changed concerning passports. Didn't realize that was one of them. I travel a lot so glad I now know. I always went by the 3 month rule. Now I have to go by the 6 month one...lol... thanks again.

Don't forget that Ducky is on our cruise so the tube should be big enough for a litho! :cool1: And you may want to bring one even if you didn't order the certificates.

Harole Ann -- I have the same Mickey in one of my kitchen windows.

We do too. We actually have 3 of them, one for each front window. Jingle Cash from stocking up on cruise meds paid for them. :thumbsup2

Our shirts arrived from VistaPrint yesterday. Now I have to find time to make DD's shirt since they don't sell children's shirts.

Christmas shoppping is done!

Jen, LOVE thet shoes and you SO deserve them. I'm jealous you can wear them. my wide feet would be hurting me after about 15 minutes. And, I'm laughing at myself just trying to imagine keeping up with me 3yo DD while wearing those. I hope you can relax now and enjoy the holidays and cruise planning.
