So am I gathering the same person who designed that lovely work in Bellagio has work on the Magic as well?? I always admire that ceiling in Bellagio, and we are there at least once a year it seems.

That's right Mandy, the artist's name is Dale Chihuly he created the glass chandeliers in the lobby on both the Wonder & Magic as well as the ceiling in the Bellagio and many more!

Check out this huge list of where his work is displayed around the world. http://www.chihuly.com/places-public-installations.aspx

PS: Managed to sneak in a trip to DLRP in August.. so excited!

Me too! I'm going with my DD and 2 year old grandson. We arrive on the 24th for 4 nights :)

Looks like Medusa's head!!!;) I do know what you really mean though!

So pleased Taryn's visa is sorted.

Great news Sarah :)

I just want to report some nice good news. No, not the fact that we have PIF!!:rotfl2:

I had a change in pain meds a few weeks ago, and then had the dose upped this week. Well, I feel like I have got my life back with being more awake and less dopey, plus of course almost pain free. I didn't realise how bad I felt before. We both feel much more positive about making the cruise, just a few hurdles left. I might have to increase the dose a little more and then once it is stable go on patches, so that will be another positive step. Just wanted to share how much better things are.

We often don't know how ill we felt until we have better, brighter days Marilyn. I hope you continue to go from strength to strength :thumbsup2

Reminder number 6 just arrived!!!

They are persistent that's for sure :scared1:

Well we had a good day in London yesterday. We were there in 2 and a half hours and Taryn spent a long 3 hours in the American Embassy where she was sorting out her visa for the WDW college programme.

Glad to hear that the visa is all sorted out:thumbsup2 What a great opportunity; she must be getting excited :)

We have good news too... today's 6-month post-melanoma body scan had nothing the doc wanted to biopsy. :woohoo: We're clear another 6 months (and she is one who biopsies ANYTHING that looks remotely questionable, which we are so thankful for, but she found nothing on hubby

Wonderful news :thumbsup2

I haven't had any :rotfl2::rotfl2: Mind you my TA is on the Wonder at the moment so she probably has a few other priorities such as glacier watching !
Yummy :lovestruc is the one on the right Red Velvet :cloud9:
Our travel agent is also in Alaska ... hmmm, could she be one, and the same?

Look familiar anyone ???????

I vaguely remember seeing something like it in the Atlantis hotel in Nassau, is that what you're talking about?

I have just been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis after the pain never really went away from my acute attack in Dec '09. I never had the gallbladder pain at all, but apparently they believe the stones were what caused the acute pancreatitis. There were none visible when they examined the gallbladder after they took it out, but apparently there was evidence there had been some. The tiny ones are the most problematic! The pain I have is pancreatic.

Ooh that sounds painful, I'm glad you found new meds that make you feel better

Great news :thumbsup2

Thanks! Learned something new. :thumbsup2 Look forward to seeing it on the Magic!!

And thanks for the "congrats" for our doc appt today. They always stress me out because she almost always biopsies something, and it usually comes back with some sort of cancer. WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN!! And good UPV clothing! Get nakey with your partner at least once a month to look for any changes or ABCDE risk factors on their skin! It could just save your life...

New info to me, too. Amazing what one learns on Disboards! :surfweb:

Congrats to all for great health, educational success, and continuing good fortune. Life is too short to waste a day! :cheer2: And the right meds can sure help :goodvibes.

We're heading to Austin next week to visit DD. Can't wait to just relax...work has been crazy lately. And vacations are our time to suspend the "no sugar or bad carb" rule....:rolleyes1.....Now, why am I suddenly thinking of cupcakes??:yay:

Wonderful news Mandy .. it must be such a relief to you and your DH to come out of the Doctors with a clean bill of health.

I am really missing Disneyland Paris ... think we might pencil a visit in for 2012. :yay::yay:

It is indeed red velvet ... had never tried this before and it was delicious in a melt in the mouth kind of way. I imagine our TA is one and the same. Do the letters T and W mean anything to you ;);)

Thank you for posting these - I've never been to Atlantis but it will certainly be on my list if I ever get back to Nassau!

There's a Chihuly exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, this summer, if anyone lives in that area. Last year we visited one in Columbus, Ohio, but i'm not sure that one is still there.

Happy day, all!

Your welcome. :goodvibes

Atlantis is lovely, but I guess i'm biased as we got married there. (10 years ago this July!!!)

I would love to go to one of Chihuly's exhibitions, maybe one day he'll have one in the UK.

10:25am on Friday the 9th. We are coming in on American Airlines from JFK.

We arrive at 8:55am on the 9th from Atlanta

DH had to have a 1 1/2 inch removal this past week so now we need to wait to make sure they got everything for the second time.

the only problem we have is deciding whether to book the free dining from 24th to 29th or to just do the mnsshp as we have never done this before, great dilemma to have though hey:cool1:

im so jealous of all you seasoned cruisers who will be able to book in 5 days, only 50 more days waiting for me:laughing:

Do you have to chose between free dining and MNSSHP? I'm planning on doing both - got them both booked already.

Pennies are tight as I'm on maternity leave just now so it's either freedining with just 2 day ticket or mnsshp and trying eating offsite, I'm not really fussed about doing all parks as I don't fancy it with 8 month old baby, we will be back next year to do parks : )

If this is breaking a Dis-board rule, please tell me right away and I'll delete this. Okay, I have a possible proposition for the folks who are planning a post-cruise WDW visit.

We have two Military Salute 4-day Park Hopper tickets that have to be used before Oct 1, and we're not going to be able to use them. They are an excellent deal, but the only catch is, one of us has to be there to "activate" the tickets. There are no rules about being "family" (though I'm sure we're distant cousins) - friends are allowed to use these (and we're now friends here!). Dennis and I were thinking about going to one of the parks on the Saturday when we get back from the cruise, using the other tickets we bought, so we could work out the activation thing.

If anyone would be interested in taking these off our hands, PM me and we can work out the details.

That is one of the (few) advantages of traveling solo - I don't have to multiply costs by how many people are in the family.

I wasn't sure if you realized we were arriving on the last day of the free dining offer and could still take advantage of it - or if you knew you could get the minimum of 2 days of park tickets (which I will do to save money). I've still got the water parks and more on my 10-day no-expiry pass. Those water park days are only $5 each when added on - :thumbsup2

Thanx for info lynne, I had seen on boards that you could still book for length of stay, but good to know people are still looking out for others to get best deal : )

which resort are you staying at lynne??

Im still here ... lol. The kids, My wife & I are going on the Dream in 4 weeks.

I will get "more active here" when i get back.

happy mothers day to all you lovely mums in america, hope you all have a nice restful day, susie
