It seams odd to talk about a reunion next year when the cruise is not even begin. But I like it. It seems we know each other so good.

And I was forgotten about the olympics in august. It sounds great to go there, but the tickets are so expensive and the rest too, that is sounds like a fairytale to get there.

That's a good idea. I have a hard disk recorder, so I can lots of hours record.
I record As the world turns every day. (We are going to the end in the Netherlands, I think about 6 months) I follow this for so many years.
And I love Dowton Abby. The first serie was here the last few weeks. I must wait for the second till it is here, because I cann't receive where they broadcast it here.
And for the rest I have to see what is coming up in september.

My Mother watched As the World Turns for over 40 years. It went off the air here in the US I think last September. I did not know you got American Soap Operas in Europe. I have been watching Days of Our Lives for at least 30 years. But I am only 25, how is that possible? :rotfl::rotfl:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 my only worry is I'm so bad remembering names, real names verses dis names. And I'm getting so excited but when i can't remember names, people will think I'm having one too many senior moments. :rotfl2::rotfl2: the names tags will help, but I will have to put my glasses on to read them.... lol if I walk away with them om I'm likely to fall over...... so sorry in advance

margaret

I am horrible with name too Margret. Nametags with definately help me out.

Lovely .... I am taking note of all the interested people :thumbsup2

We would be interested :thumbsup2 we are sooo miffed we can't make it this weekend to the re-union :sad2:

Dumb question. I can't recall what time breakfast is the last day. We have late dining and I seem to recall breakfast was at 7:30 and we were off the ship by 8:30. Can someone refresh my feeble memory?

Karen

We were on late dining on the Dream last week and our breakfast time was 8 am

Haven't set it up yet ..... was waiting until we get back from the cruise first :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

WOW we certainly are an eager bunch, planning the reunion before the actual cruise

You never know we might all HATE each other and spend our two weeks on the cruise hiding in our staterooms and ordering room service so we don't accidently bump into each other...

SW

(the above is a joke, LOL my sarcasm doesn't always translate online)

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:woohoo: It gives me something to look forward to too, we also have no holidays planned.

After the cruise & when we've set up the facebook group we can throw around some dates and see what suits the majority. :)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I got it but then again I live with THE most sarcastic man in the world....you will get on great with my hubby. :)

I am sure Warren was on his best behaviour on the last cruise, I know Lee will be or he'll have me kicking him under the table. ;)

Oh no, what have we let ourselves in for girls...... Warren, Lee and Stevie.... they will be a triple act :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm always on my best behaviour when there are ladies at the table :littleangel:

SW

See the sarcasm is starting to seep out already :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: sarcastic and very cheeky too :rotfl::rotfl:

A little special request for the re-union, since we have the furthest to travel, London would be great but also any city that we can catch a flight to from Inverness would be great..... that includes

London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol

It should be some time in September, drown our sorrows a year from disembarkation :woohoo:

Karen
Breakfast depends on what time you are disembarking.. those with earlier flights get earlier breakfast... but I think it is all ashore by 8:30

That is strange....for the CG's she told me they need the cabin #'s to charge the room directly. Maybe they swipe your room key at the tastings then? :confused3

Who knows!!! They certainly don't seem too.
On the CG's I have been to.... you give them our names and cabin numbers. They automatically charge us and we will have a ticket waiting in our room before the event.

I just got back from a wonderful lunch meeting with Mandy (Mandygirl), her children and Karen (Rubyblue) What a fabulous lunch.. the food was good but the company was better. I am so excited to have such wonderful new friends in my life. Can't wait to see you girls on the ship.. if not before!

It's funny, we have been telling people that we're going to get on the ship already "knowing" (of course, done with air-quotes) people. And they'll say - what happens if you don't really like each other?

I look at them like they're nuts - after all we've been chatting online for nine months! :lmao:

Luckily for me people have known I'm nuts for a long time so when I say I'm going to hang out with people I "know" they just simply smile and ask how I know them. I just hope some day this whole internet thing catches on and many folks will be as nutty as me! :lmao: (Wait, is it bad to laugh at your own "joke" especially when it's not funny... )

We are actually planning a week in Orlando starting around Dec. 4th or 5th. I'm hoping to take my kids to Mickey's Christmas Party for the first time - we've done the Halloween party and loved that. But even with those discounts I think staying on WDW property may be too expensive. Can you give me a ballpark on staying (per night)?

Karen (PDFM); a big huge  and a sigh of relieve for finally being able to make the final decision in going or not and it being :cool1: . I know the other option too well, wouldn't wish that on anybody here. No need for details, seen to many so to say so got a clue what Steve has gone through and is wrapping up slowly. He's more than deserved this cruise! Perfect that the timing works out so perfectly.

Sjeez, this count down is going so fast!

For those being faced with....... none-advertised flight attendants; you should really start flying with a serious mobility disability. Pref. fly solo. Ground and bagage will be an......... interesting experience, but once aboard it seems to be a 99% succesrate for getting a nice, cheerfull, attentive approach. Good airline, soso one, Hellish Airways, aco or business class; same thing happens over and over again.

And talking about a post-cruise-reunion? Now? Is it me or are you guys getting a bit beyond nuts with the getting-close-to-cruise-fever? Come on! Who DARES talk about post-cruise at this moment in time? Shame, shame. :rolleyes1;)

For the upcoming dec-WDW trip I've had so many problems thrown in already, a negative person would start to consider it signs a trip wasn't ment to be. Constant problems with resort availability, flights availability, things being put into systems wrong, rental powerchair charger not being available (European one doesn't work in the US), you name it. Made reservations for the first few days through CRO but special needs dep was down. Can happen, would be called back but shouldn't expect any problems. Same thing told to the person I'm renting points from regarding the next 11 days. Sure enough we learn today; no accessible studio available for either reservations. At least I could secure a room with grab bars for the first few days (not sure if it'll work, depends on lay out when I get there) but nothing at all for the DVC rental. If need be I'll just have to make due with the accessible options at the SSR pool/main building, but gosh do I kinda hope something opens up that we can grab instead (scarely long shot). Nothing short from serious tragedy will stop me from going on this trip, so it'ld better open up! :wizard: :rotfl2:

For those planning to go to WDW during the first days of december; the one thing in my favor; PIN-codes( yep multiple!). As far as I know I can book upto 3 rooms for me and friends during the same traveltime so if I can help anyone out; you know how to find me (it's 25% off value or mod and 35% off deluxe or DVC). And I happen to know that as of yesterday there was still quite a nice availability at both CBR and SSR with this PIN. :rotfl2:

Love Burn Notice and White Collar - do you watch Covert Affairs also?

All the TV shows we watch we can watch "on Demmand" when we get home. DH better not watch them without me while I am gone. ha ha
We love Burn Notice, Warehouse 13, White Collar, Suits, Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, Eureka. That is all until the fall seasons start. Did I mention I just love "on demmand". That is on IO TV here in the US. Don't know if you have it in Europe.

I'm going to echo your sentiments, Jill, and say how incredibly EXCITED I am now I have four faces to look forward to seeing again!!

I'm having trouble working this afternoon as it feels as though I've already started my vacation after such a fun lunch. :yay:

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

have a great cruise!

Wait... this one wasn't already on there? How funny because we're already on page 204 and have a little over 3 weeks left. I'd say 3 days at the most and we have another thread :rotfl:

Tortola - Jost VanDyke update: I emailed the charter company last night to let them know we have about ten standbys wanting another boat, so GET ON IT! ;) Seriously, I was friendly, but just sent a reminder. I almost said that we have all been dieting, so weight should not be an issue if we just merge those ten onboard with us. :thumbsup2 Then I thought how it will be towards the END of the cruise... with lots of good food and beverages (and more beverages)... so the weightloss plea may not work by then. :rotfl2: (No, I really did not tell them that, but did at least want to check on the third boat possibility)
Anyway, Iwill update as soon as I hear back. I also asked them for exact directions to share on how to get to their dock. That will be posted as well. I just had to click through those pictures again... beautiful beach, Soggy Dollar bar, great new friends....

DITTO! Jill and Karen are absolutely WONDERFUL! We were at lunch 11:15-1:00 and I think we could have easily gone longer. (Okay, so my 14-month old didn't have her morning nap yet, but still behaved pretty well.). Had it been Happy Hour, we would have had to sample the sangria there. I was also thrilled to discover Karen/Stan are on the same flight as my girls and I out of JFK... and already knew Pat and Dennis are as well. Super excited about that as well. I walked away from lunch even MORE excited about the cruise than before! And the hotesses thought it was way cool that I was there to meet two people I had never seen in person before, and that we were all cruising. Our server asked us to come back to let her know how the cruise goes!

We are going to be at WDW Dec. 9th-16th. If you're there any of those days, lets meet up for a snack or something! We are staying at the Bay Lake Tower. We just bought into DVC and we're using it for the first time! I'm so excited.

Just the names & room no's Claire, she told me she didn't need res no's. ..

If you didn't send us a PM for our info, is that because you got it off FB? My room is GTY until the week of the cruise, so I hear.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 we would be interested in a reunion in london, and I'm on FB..... to relive the magic

Haven't set it up yet ..... was waiting until we get back from the cruise first :thumbsup2

You posted exactly what I was thinking, so your sarcasm translated well, or perhaps I speak perfect sarcasm.

It was exactly the same last year... It was kind of funny Meeting folks for the first time and saying

"oh how's you arm? Feeling better"

Or

"did you manage to get your car fixed"

Not usually opening conversation for someone you've never met.

And when you have a picture in your mind and you meet someone for the first time and they say

"Hi i'm DizzyDisneyfan42"

and in your head you're thinking

"well you don't look like dizzydisneyfan42" :rotfl:

SW

Again, spot on. I change up my avatar a fair amount, partly due to the fact that I don't always recognize people from their photos - for example, Noel has short hair in her avatar, but in FB and post photos she has long straight hair. Height is another thing that throws me off when I meet our "friends." Nothing like how did you people meet? "On the internet."

I don't think going to London during the Olympics is a good idea unless you are going to the Olympics .... I can only imagine the horrors on the underground with all those extra people in town :scared1::scared1:

They say the average Olympian has 5 suitcases, while the average traveler has 1.5 bags; they are wondering how they are going to handle the addition at Heathrow.

We have to apply for our idef leave to remain next year and if we dont get it we wil need to eave. :-:-)confused3

What is your home country? Your name looks Spanish/Portuguese - so are you really American? I was expecting an English accent.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

have a great cruise!

Yeah, Lauren, I thought the same thing. He just now noticed we are on Thread #5, moving into #6 in the next few weeks (we average about 30-40 pages/week).

...DITTO! Jill and Karen are absolutely WONDERFUL! We were at lunch 11:15-1:00 and I think we could have easily gone longer. I wonder what the girls will think when they see these people getting on the same plane and then ship as them? What goes through their young minds?

...Never knew how fun HGTV would be. ...

The other night HGTV's "House Hunters International" was in Hertfordshire, England, where a young family was buying their first home. He is English, she's from Mississippi. Their budget was $400,000. As she said, they could have had a really big house in America (especially Mississippi) for that amount. They ended up with a dinky triplex unit for $365,000. One lounge (living room), small eat-in kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bath. Location, location, location!

Karen

On the Med cruise, late breakfast was at 8am. We left the ship around 9:15am, and we had a car hire meet us for a 9:30am pickup. Some cruisers had extremely early flights (10am out of Barcelona) so topsiders was open at 5:45-8am. Early dining ate breakfast at 6:45am. The restaurants were assigned based on your dining rotation. If you prefer not to eat so early if you are early dining, topsiders is always an option. We always like to say our final farewells to our servers so we go to our assigned breakfast. No room service the last morning, but you can always order the night before prior to 11pm and put milk and juices in the fridge and get cereal and/or muffins. :goodvibes

Noel, congrats on your daughter, how did it go on Monday?

We are working on student loan paperwork etc. Sam got her Student ID today. She attended all of the orientation sessions, lunches, dinners, harbor cruise etc. as well as me attending the parent orientations.

We are having her textbooks shipped here to the hotel as she already has homework and her first class on Thursday so things are still a bit crazy.

I will to post more later on the weekend but I will try to answer questions.

What is your home country? Your name looks Spanish/Portuguese - so are you really American? I was expecting an English accent.

Yes I am really American.. i just don't always pay attention when I type. Born and raised in California. Name from Spain via Mexico and Texas :cool1:

I believe Noel (birkner) and her DH John are doing this for everyone if I recall.

John and I plan to do a DIS Navigator similar to the one that was done last year. Hopefully, when I am home this weekend, I will start sending confirming emails to those who are organizing activities.

The link below is a large file so it may take a minute or so to load.
