Look at the original GTY category you book and when you get your assignment look at the category of the assigned room.

We got our assigned room when we booked or got our confirmation.

I just found this discussion board yesterday and I got so excited!
We are going on our very first family vacation-Me, husband and 2 boys (2 and 4). The adults are more excited than the kids.

I have known about FE for less than 24 hours and I would like to sign up.

Congrats on the upgrade, Pinky3! I just checked our ressie yesterday and no upgrade. Although when we were upgraded 3 years ago, the upgrade didn't show up on our ressie, but on our luggage tags.

We put a "DO NOT CHANGE ROOM" on our reservation and thankfully, we were not upgraded

How did you book cruise direct or thru TA
HOw did u find out from pulling up ressie or did disney call you?

Just wondering what our chances are of pixie dust visting us.

Fire, we originally booked through Disney, but had it transferred to DU. My TA sent me an email today informing me of the upgrade. We went from a category 5C to a 4B, moving up 2 decks. Since this is our first Disney cruise, I have no idea how the pixie dust gets spread around.

We booked our category 5A room 2 years ago while on board the
Magic. I actually found out about our upgrade when I logged into our ressie to add an excursion and saw the room number had changed.

we booked through DU TA I received a e-mail today from the Travel agent
here is the e-mail we were in 5A deck 7 room 7070 upgraded to a 4A deck 8 room 8050 which is a deluxe family with balcony

Disney called today and has upgraded you to category 4A stateroom 8050. Your price also went down a bit as the gov. taxes and fees have changed.

We booked through DCL and they called me this afternoon. Cat 5A to Cat 4A, room 7560 to 8550

You were our next door neighbor!!!

We let DCL assign our room back in Jan on the Magic. We booked Cat 11C and were "upgraded" to a porthole room on deck 2, Cat 9C. It was awful. Loud loud loud. We would've much rather had an inside room on a higher deck for sure. After that, we decided to choose our room and put a "Do not change room" request on our reservation. We booked a Cat 7A secret verandah room (which is really a Cat 5 room that has been reclassified - like your room, Fire14), so had DCL upgraded us, it may have been to a Cat 6 metal verandah or something that wasn't really an upgrade to us.

I would've taken a nice Cat 4 room aft on Deck 8 though You all enjoy those!!!!
