Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

My question isn't a BC or YC question, but now that this is a "social club" I feel free to ask whatever I want. :)

Long story, short... Can I have the plastic (credit-card size) park tickets, put on my Magic Bands when we check in?

Long story, long...
We booked a room only reservation for BWI last month, and on Monday called into to get the discount applied. When I called on Monday, I added tickets on to the reservation. It was a bit strange as the cast member said I had to pay for them immediately. It wasn't a big deal to me because I wanted to pay down some of my reservation, so I paid for the tickets and didn't think too much about it. Today some Mickey Mail arrived and I thought it would be my luggage tags, but was surprised to see that it was three plastic park tickets. I've always booked our trips this way, meaning I start with a room only reservation and then call back to add a discount and park tickets, and we've never received the park tickets in the mail.

I don't want to have to carry a park ticket and a magic band, so I'm hoping they can just merge them at check in.

And another frustration is that we live in a high-rise apartment and the UPS driver just left the package outside our door. Anyone could have walked off with $1300 worth of Disney tickets! Thankfully, our dog walker comes by mid-day and she picked up the envelope and put it inside our apartment.

We have never done so. There are always extra pails and shovels hanging around the 'sand beach' in the pool closest to YC. If you want your own, I believe if you buy a kids' meal at Hurricane Hanna's, it comes in a sand bucket. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is still the case?
As of last month, yes you can purchase a kids meal at Hurricane Hannahs and it comes in a pail with a shovel. I can tell you that we as adults enjoy the kids meal chicken tenders and leave the pail/shovel at the kids sand pool for others' enjoyment. Love that pool!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you can do that yourself. You go onto your MDE account and "Link Tickets". You will input the ticket number that appears on the actual plastic ticket and then the tickets will be associated with your Magic Band.

Does that sound right?

Janet- Hi how are you? Hope you are well and knitting away....I am friendly, what can I say!

You can actually add the tickets to your MDE account before arrival and assign to the proper person. The tickets will magically appear on your Magic Bands. I just did this with my tickets for my trip in August. Worked out great and also, this way you will have the tickets linked and ready to make FP+ at 60 days. Hope that helps! You must be getting excited about your upcoming trip.

Thanks Dee and Rebecca for your quick answers! I did link the tickets on DME so I guess we are all set. That makes so much sense, that I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it.

And Rebecca, thanks for being so friendly! I'm doing well and so is my knitting. :) I'm working on a new mitten pattern that is coming along nicely. How are you doing these days? Is working keeping you busy? How's the empty nest?

HA! I just added plastic tickets to My Disney Experience (MDE) ((soon to be renamed My Disney Social Club)) last night so I am the freshest ticket adding expert around.

On MDE click on MY reservations and tickets on the pull down menu that you'll see when you click on the My Disney experience link on the web site https://disneyworld.disney.go.com

Next under the tickets and passes area it will say Don't see your tickets? then there will be a button on the lower right corner where you can click to link tickets.

Then just follow the step by step instructions that will pop up on the page.

THE ONLY THING THAT I WILL ADD IS TO BE SURE TO TAKE THESE PLASTIC TICKETS WITH YOU EACH DAY TO THE PARKS. IF YOUR MAGIC BANDS AREN'T WORKING THESE TICKETS CAN STILL BE SCANNED SO THAT YOU CAN GET INTO THE PARKS.

When I was doing all that and adding the number the page got stuck for me after I put in the number. The way I got it unstuck was to click on the
Find your ticket type to help locate the ID number. "area" and advance the page in that picture of the tickets and then the next button that I had to click on was activated.

So there you go. It's nice that we can be all social and chatty and help each other. I feel sorry for the new folks who won't know any better and look for answers in the new Resort FAQ ghost town threads. I have a feeling very few people that know the answers to many of the questions WILL be hanging around in the official threads if they are expected to provide information with no hope of feeling any love.

When and how did this thread become a social club? I have always thought that it contained really helpful information. Just curious...

Honestly there is no real way to offer up opinions or openly speculate about whey these changes were made. Doing so brings about the possibility of being banned from the Dis Boards.

Oops! Sorry. I was thinking there was a planned change in the direction of the thread. I hope those of you who are running this thread will still be providing the helpful info that some of us really need. It's been a few years since our last trip and we're planning to return and stay at the BC, so the helpful updates (esp. the one about the pineapple "non-dole-whip" whip is now being served by the pool) are really appreciated.

Empty nest life is growing on me. Work has been busy. Middle age is a little difficult though. Just got back from the gym trying to keep myself sane and lose some weight. :thumbsup2

Glad your knitting is going well.

Well anyways you Beach and Yacht Club people, I have a very pressing issue to chit chat about...how's the coffee in the rooms? As handsome as my husband is, he can be a bear without some good coffee and as cute as I am, I cannot live on champagne alone the entire week. I'm ordering a special fancy cake for the first day to have as breakfast during the week(it's vacation don't judge me lol) and a nice cup of coffee would be great with the extra calories I don't need but will enjoy.

It's the pod type maker. The coffee is fine, just not enough for us.
I bring Starbucks Via and heat the water in the maker. It works great for us.

Champagne, Disney, great combo! What fun to have a special cake. I hope you have a wonderful vacation. :cloud9:

Thanks! I was thinking about bringing the VIAs with us. I did research ordering extra pods but wasn't sure if we are taking the old school round pods or K cups?

Thanks for the well wishes! I ordered a gorgeous cake to celebrate our anniversary, very decadent to go with good champagne.

I just renewed my AP, renewal system online wasn't working so had to phone. While I had CM on phone I had him walk me thru registration on MDE, didn't work. CM had to transfer me to Tec support, ugh. :badpc:
