What ride do others love that you just don’t ‘get’?

Soarin- you guys wait over an hour for a glimpse of a curved Eiffle Tower, cartoony cg animals & to get frebreeze shot in your face?! At DCA it often has a reasonable wait & fastpasses are easy to grab so I’ve been on it many times but at EPCOT it’s still a hot ticket for some reason. It’s not the worst thing ever if you get to sit right in the middle but it’s not worth giving up one of my 3 preplanned FPs or waiting in standby line at all for imo.

I don’t get thrill rides. Why does anyone in their right mind want to be subjected to rides that drop or throw or toss or twirl until you’re ill or in pain or have your heart beating out of your chest? I go to the parks to be entertained, not tortured to within an inch of my life. I have never liked thrill rides, even as a kid or teen. Just not my cup of tea.

But please tell me how you truly feel about thrill rides!!! S** I guess that is what makes the world go around. Their are many of us who love to adrenalin rush. You know you wont be hurt(strong odds you wont be!!) but it the thrill of being taken to the edge. I respect your fear of the thrill but there are a whole bunch of us that love it.

I have actually received bruises every time I ride Space Mountain, and injured my tailbone on BTMRR slamming back into the seat after the thrilling airtime. I try a few of them every now and then, but I am just not a fan. I just never understood the whole adrenaline rush thing. It feels bad to me, not good, a feeling I want to avoid at all costs. Fortunately Disney has a good mix of rides, so everyone has something to do.

Yes i agree a very good mix and I also so enjoy the calm rides. Its unfortunate you have gotten injured on the rides, I fortunatley have never been injured. But we are all made differently. Now one ride I will not go on is Kali River. I hate being drench and having to walk around the parks, even on the hottest days.

I swear some people will stand in line for the silliest things. It's not terribly hard to get a FP for it in the afternoon/evening and future world is pretty much dead after 4 pm anyway, everyone has either moved on to other parks or are in world showcase for dinner. Personally I like the feeling of the ride, I do wish they had used round shaped objects instead. But the immature kid inside me will always chuckle seeing some of those curved icons. Maybe the director was, uh, thinking of something else when planning that...

... I was surprised how much people liked Peter Pan.

I personally think it’s pretty poor and felt I was just looking at some small models in the dark. Nevermind that though.

I know, why I FP this ride, who stands in line 2 hours for that... But DD loves it.

Tomorrowland Speedway & Test Track...TS smells bad, is a horribly slow moving line, & can be a miserably hot queue...both do not appeal when you can drive your own car and have no problem experiencing driving 65 MPH with the top down...but DS loves TS and both DD & DS love TT, FP all of it

  • Test Track. I mean, I can ride in a car anytime...

I know right!!! And when I'm in my actual car, I hope not to get into the dangerous situations simulated on TT. I rode it once and that's enough. It's just a little too true-to-life for me!

I’m with you on this. I mean the ‘thrill’ rides at WDW are rarely thrilling.
ToT, Mission Space, Everest and Rock N Rollercoaster are the only ones I can really think of. I wouldn’t class Space Mountain as a thrill ride.

For me they always seem to be the most exciting. I appreciate the more timid attractions, but not ones where I’m basically going at a walking pace passed some dimly lit models.

Everest has everything and I wish there were more rides like that.

I am glad to see posts from all of the people who don't like Peter Pan, because I love this ride. Maybe someday the wait will be less than 90 minutes for it. We always use FastPasses for it.

Carousel of Progress is for people my age who need to sit down for a while. People Mover is better, but shorter.

My spouse is a Star Tours fanatic. I enjoy the show but this ride is really a little too rough for me. Also, my photo on Seven Dwarves Mine Train looks like I am frozen with fear. Test Track is better for me. Some day I will have my eyes open when the Splash Mountain photo is taken--not yet.

I prefer Toy Story Mania to Buzz Lightyear, because I have some clue where my shots are going.

I know this is a thread about what people dislike, but I want to add the comment that I really enjoyed Tower of Terror the last time around. I first rode it two years ago, after chickening out every time before that.

It's a Small World. I've never ridden it and never will. It's like two of my greatest nightmares merged and formed a ride baby with an annoying song that will get stuck in your head for eternity while creepy dolls stare down at you and revel in your torment.
Duff beer for me
Duff beer for you
I’ll have a Duff
You’ll have one too

I want to get off
You can’t get off we still have 5 more continents to visit!

Not a ride, but Country Bear Jamboree. For the life of me, I don't get the attraction to this show.
What?? You don't like Zeke and Deke and Zeb and Jed and a bear named Tennessee??!?

Mine is the freakin teacups. I guess the people who like it must not feel like their eyeballs are rolling around in their skull after they get off......bleccch. :crazy2:

Illuminations - We loved the old show where the nations lit up and there were lasers in the sky, but the giant ball thing makes no sense at all and we usually skip the show altogether.

LOL! Glad to know I'm the only one who "doesn't get" the giant ball thing.

If I may throw out a couple more - 7DMT, don't dislike it, but more like "wow? so that's it?"

Nemo show. I've so tried to like this, but I'd rather floss with rusty barbed wire.

Fantasmic! -- I've never understood the love.

Other "yawners" for me:
Monster's Inc Laugh Floor
Mickey's Philharmagic
Circle of Life (whoops, just read that it was closed)
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

This is not to say I don’t like these rides, but I just feel they are way overrated.

Pirates of the Caribbean- very relaxing but I personally don’t care about the movies.

Haunted Mansion- there’s ghosts everywhere. Ok?

Jungle Cruise- A cruise past fake animals that I wouldn’t care about anyway?

It’s a Small World- A bunch of creepy animatronic kids singing for a miserable 10 minutes.

Winnie the Pooh- it’s just a ride through of random characters from the movie doing random things. Not very high quality in my opinion.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train- I do really like this ride but it’s not worth doing RD for since that could be an extra ride on Space Mountain, which is spectacular. We always get a FP so it doesn’t replace Space (we get Space as one of the other FPs)

Every show besides Monsters Inc Laugh Floor- I have plenty of opportunities to watch shows at home, but not the great rides. They just take so long.

Primeval Whirl- PAINFUL!
Kilimanjaro Safaris- It smells awful and takes so much time.

Frozen Ever After- You see characters from the movie and there’s a drop. Not worth a long wait (good thing we’ve never waited more than 20)

Spaceship earth- too long.

The Great Movie Ride (good thing it’s gone now)- too long.
