2021 Resort Reservations

We were able to secure three rooms for family of 6 (including adult children) at Gran Destino for the week April 11, 2021; that will have us on property for the runDisney Star Wars event. The pricing is...... well it's Disney. We also made park entry reservations; you may want to jump on that because for for several days we were given 11:00 am park entry times, which is fine for us as it forces us to sleep in!!

I got through to online chat tonight and asked when the end of 2021 would be available for booking and the CM copy-and-pasted the whole paragraph from the blog about booking for 2021 on June 28, so 🤞🤞 that’s actually the case, the waiting is killing me just a little

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed as well for them to open up on Sunday. We're hoping for late October/early November trip next year.

All of this just seems so much more stressful than in the past. I'm hoping the parks will be operating at regular capacity by then. Having to make park reservations and seeing how quickly those are already going is giving me anxiety. I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation planning and we're not even planning on going for over another year :rotfl:

I have not been able to find any availability at AKL or GDT for spring summer or fall 2021. Sometimes it will show in the resort list with a price but when I move on to select room type nothing is available and no prices listed. So confused. I find it hard to believe everything is gone. That's impossible. Maybe there will be more availability later or Sunday.
AKL is no longer available to be booked in 2021, it was quietly changed on the website last night. I was able to book GDT at the end of March yesterday morning. It gave me the "No Availability" message as well, but I clicked on "Change Search" and searched for the same dates and then I was able to book. They had everything available.

Do you know if other resorts not listed (such as POR) will be available at some point, or will they not be available for booking in 2021 at all? I tried calling and contacting Disney but haven't gotten a response.

Nobody knows yet. Assuming that Disney is able to increase capacity in the parks, then yes more resorts can open up to accommodate the additional guests that can then visit the parks. But that's all very dependent on IF and WHEN Disney can allow more people into the parks on a given day. So to answer your question, they will be available at SOME point, but when is very much up in the air until Disney gets the OK to increase capacity.

For how long? The package for 2 adults & 1 child at pop for $5000+

I booked a stay at CR (garden wing though) for Easter week 7 nights for right about $6500. 2 adults & 1 child as well.

Has anyone been able to book a reservation for the Garden Wing at the Contemporary for 2021? My friend is trying to book there but it says it is not available. We were wondering if the Garden Wing is closed or if it is just completely booked for the week that he wants to take his family.
I was able to book for the Garden Wing for April 2021. If your friend is having issues just have him click check availability again and it should work. I’d be shocked if it was booked up already.

The PP had responded that it was 2 weeks starting july 19 - I just pulled those dates and 2 a/1C age 13 (I guessed on the age just for the sake of a higher ticket price) and yes the package price came back at just over 5K for a standard room, that was including 3 adult 10 day base tickets. The room per night was $235/night for that time period.

Oh 2 weeks is a long time! Is that not normal for Pop? I thought it’s price went up after the skylander

Funny you autocorrected to skylander - my son was just barking in my ear about buying more Skylanders as if we don't have a ton already LOL

Over $200 IS high for what POP normally goes for, but rack rates have been climbing for a while and when the Skyliner went in it kinda pushed POP into what I tend to call the "Quasi Moderate" category. Not really a mod because of room size and layout, but not really a value anymore in terms of price and extra amenity. I don't expect to see nightly rates below $190 there anymore at any time, unless they start having trouble filling it.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was a capacity thing, or if they were just opening resorts on a rolling basis. Just curious if it's worth waiting to see if POR becomes available for next spring, or if I should just look into booking elsewhere. Thank you for responding!

We booked a room at POP for February, with the expectation that if they open up Port Orleans, we want to move there. But we want to go regardless, so I figured having the package all set and being able to book park reservations was worth tying up the deposit money now.

That sounds like a good plan, actually! And I enjoy POP a lot too, so it's something to consider. Thank you for your responses, and good luck!

The only moderate I saw available in July/August 2021 was CBR....Pop and AoA were the only values and not all deluxes, as I was looking for AKL or WL.
Right now only resorts that are open or have a listed opening date are available for 2021 thru Sept. 26, 2021.

So no AKL (it was pulled late yesterday when AKL Jambo House was removed from the list of resorts scheduled to open) and no WL since it has no opening date scheduled.

I really hope this is true. I know it's a long way off, but I've been saving and planning for this trip for 10 years...I just want to get it booked already.

What time of day do online resort reservations normally open - is it 7am?

Normally 7ish, but when reservations opened on 6/24 for new package booking in 2021, it didn't open until 8am. I think it just depends on when the system updates to load the package pricing in and they can man the phones.
