No, not unless I’m missing something. Seems to me it would be likely Rix should see “to go” ordering added at some point, similar to what has recently been added at places like Kona, The Wave, Sanaa, Olivia’s and Ale & Compass (pending). But obviously just a guess on my part.
Is Rix third party owned? Could be a barrier to integration to mobile ordering if it is.

That’s one thing that was in the back of my mind. Some (or maybe all?) of the CSR food/beverage options are operated by Palmas Group, which also operates the food/beverage in the Epcot Mexico Pavillon. Hopefully someone smarter than me will know if Rix is a part of that (although I think it is). Not sure if that would cause any behind the scenes issues with mobile or to go ordering or not? One would think they could work it all out I guess, but I don’t know how those types of agreements really work.

We just stayed at the Swan this past weekend and the bus situation there is not great. They are using Mears buses to MK and it drops you off at the TTC, which then means you have to get on the ferry or the monorail to get to MK. It's definitely a disadvantage for that park and we ended up just Ubering to every park but the ones we could walk to. Personally, I'd stick with CSR for your trip. We've always had great bus service there and I bet right now it's just as good as it's always been since they're limiting the capacity of the resort to the 30% mentioned. Plus, it's a really centrally located resort, which makes getting to anywhere on property really easy using Disney transportation or an Uber.

Thank you for this post. The Swan and Dolphin are the resorts that feel like home to me, but the bus situation has me very leery of booking there. I'm betting we end up at CSR for our next trip. Which is more than fine, we really like CSR too.

Rix has a separate website and can be booked online at OpenTable. If you go to click on their "Careers" link, it takes you to the Palmas website. http://www.rixsportsgrill.com/blog/ ETA: Their website could use some work . . .

Reports of friendship boats being tested so keep an eye on that. No reports on reopening so could be nothing but... maybe it’s something?

Tower restaurants are Disney owned and operated including Three Bridges. El Mercado, Maya Grill, Cafe Rix and Rix Lounge are operated by the group that operates the Mexico pavilion restaurants.

I have an upcoming reservation from 11/9 - 11/12 in the GDT for two rooms with the AP rate. I've stayed at CS once before last year in the Tower before and loved it. Thought it was beautiful and involved a lot less walking around this large resort. I'm trying to make this somewhat of a budget trip and Dolphin was several hundred dollars less for our stay (even with resort fees and parking). I considered moving there until the whole Mears bus situation evolved. Since there are only Casitas and GDT open now, I'm considering moving to a standard room not in the tower. I will have a car. Any advice?

If you're going to have a car, then I think staying in a Standard room at CSR is a no-brainer. You know you'll be in Casitas, which is the first bus stop if you don't want to drive yourself to the parks and you can travel by car to other resorts to eat if you want.

Thank you! Think I will call to change.

Do we know for sure the current bus stop situation is Casitas then Tower?

So with the lack of services available here, I was able to find a DVC rental for about $500 less at OKW so if everything goes thru I will spend one night at GDT and then move to OKW. I just didn't want to spend the time at the resort if it did not have anything really open. I won't cancel this until everything is set but I am pretty excited that it's working out. I almost went for a Savannah view at AKL but it was only saving $200

Where did you look to see DVC rentals?

If you Google "DVC rentals" you will find websites for some of the brokers that rent out DVC points from owners. There are a couple of main ones, but I can't remember which ones are and are not allowed to be linked to here. Some people also rent directly from individual DVC owners without using a broker.

Hoping to get some insight here. I’m going to switch over to CSR from CBR for our April ‘21 trip after reading about the nightmarish situation with buses and skyliner at CBR. Trying to decide between standard room, preferred, or standard tower. Really, ease of transportation is my top priority. Then maybe ease of picking up a quick coffee in the morning, but not a huge deal because we’re rope droppers and typically do not eat much more than a granola bar and coffee in the morning. It would be nice to save a little money by just going standard room, but if the overall vibe at the tower makes transportation and food options easier, then I’m all about it. Thanks!
