I voted yesterday... No Political statements just asking about the method you chose on casting your ballot.

Yeah TBH I don't know if anyone is really measuring. I haven't really encountered issues though and I've voted at a school, a church, the election office (usually that's where I go), an old mall space, and a sports facility complex building (I think it was for baseball).

These days I swear they just bombard us with mailings (We had 15 political mailings between the two of us delivered to our mail within 3 days for example) and most recently in the last couple of years text messages.

Well that's one way to show 'em I guess :lmao:

That's a good point.

The full statute for my state is:

"Electioneering is knowingly attempting to persuade or influence eligible voters to vote for or against a particular candidate, party or question submitted. Electioneering includes wearing, exhibiting or distributing labels, signs, posters, stickers or other materials that clearly identify a candidate in the election or clearly indicate support or opposition to a question submitted election within any polling place on election day or advance voting site during the time period allowed by law for casting a ballot by advance voting or within a radius of 250 feet from the entrance thereof. Electioneering shall not include bumper stickers affixed to a motor vehicle that is used to transport voters to a polling place or to an advance voting site for the purpose of voting.

(b) As used in this section, "advance voting site" means the central county election office or satellite advance voting sites designated as such pursuant to subsection (c) of K.S.A. 25-1122, and amendments thereto, and adult care homes and hospital based care units at the time of an election participating in the voting procedures prescribed in K.S.A. 2012 Supp. 25-2812."

(c) Electioneering is a class C misdemeanor.
I've been reading of stuff that's happened before. One is that a pen with a candidate's name has been left behind at the polling place. I suspect that's not going to happen this year as pens will be sanitized and checked often.

And here's the definition in my state:

As used in this section, “100 feet of a polling place, a satellite location under Section 3018, or an elections official’s office” means a distance 100 feet from the room or rooms in which voters are signing the roster and casting ballots.

This is going to be interesting. Some of the early voting locations in my county are in parking lots or even in public parks. I guess they'll be tented though, so that might technically be the "room". But one location I've voted at the most recently, the actual entrance to the room went down some stairs/ramps offset about 15 feet from the curb.

Louisiana

Both my husband and myself voted with a mail-in ballot last week and then two days later, we received confirmation that the ballots were received. They are not counted until election day.

Interesting. Is that legal? Not allowed here close to a polling place. I don’t think you can wear any political apparel either. No MAGA hats, T-shirts, campaign buttons, etc.
Yes, it's legal -- but has to be a minimum of 150 feet from the polling place, and that definition also includes places where people would pick up ballots, request ballots, drop off ballots, etc. Our elections officials mark the boundaries and they are observed by all parties. Not a big deal.

I don't see any prohibition of campaign apparel in the law, although obviously poll workers would not be allowed to wear any.

Has everyone's vote been counted? I confirmed my mail in ballot was received, signature verified, and counted.
That varies from state to state, and possibly from county to county in some states.

In Florida, we count when the ballots are received, but obviously don't report the results until the polls close on Election Day. My vote was confirmed as counted the next day.

True. AZ started counting on the 20th. Other states wait until the election to start counting. It's nice to see the confirmation though.

MA doesn't tell you if it's been counted, just if it has been accepted to be counted.

The statuses you can see:
Accepted Submitted to be Counted
Pending Application received, ballot not yet mailed
Rejected Ballot rejected
Not Returned Ballot not yet received by local election official

In my county of Florida, it hasn't been marked as counted since I returned it but it does say received so I'm not that worried.

Colorado does all mail in ballot it is great. I dropped off my ballot at a drop box then I get text messages to know when they have counted it. I received my text message saying it was counted. It is such a great system.

Agreed! It was weird to me when we moved to CO eight years ago, but now I can't imagine voting any other way. The drop boxes for returning your ballot are everywhere here in the most populous part of the state. I know that is not true in the more rural counties, but mail-in is always an option too. Our drop boxes are permanent, well marked, and affixed to the ground. Unless you are new to the state, you probably know where the valid boxes are nearest to your home or work. No fakes here! In the past few weeks I've seen Gov. Polis on national news discussing our system twice, and our Secretary of State once. Each time the Colorado voting system was called the gold standard that other states should emulate. I only wish there had been enough time. Go Colorado!

I am in MD and just got back from the nearby early voting center. I was lucky at only 40 minutes. My husband took my mom on Monday which was the first day and for them it was an hour and a half.

Does Pennsylvania have early voting? If so, are there any official sites that show the numbers of people voting early or submitting mail ballots?

No early voting.

I don't think they have that information until they're allowed to report results. I tried looking through their website and can't find anything.

Their returns page only has test data since obviously results haven't been released.

Thanks -- I saw that test page. Strange that they don't have early voting. They apparently have absentee/mail ballots, and they can be dropped off, but no in-person early voting.

This is their first general election with no-excuse mail voting.

I found this 2016 article from the University of Pennsylvania's student newspaper. It notes that they didn't yet allow no-excuse mail-in voting.

Lots of mail ballots not returned, according to AP.

The Florida number quoted in the article is correct, BTW...4 million mail ballots returned, 1.9 million NOT returned in Florida.
Some voters might be choosing to vote in person. There's usually a way to do that. Here were don't have to turn it in. They just check to see if it's been received or not. If it hasn't we get to vote a live ballot. If it's received later, they know not to count it and the voter might get in trouble for perjury and/or double voting.
