Pricing information released regarding 2024 Disney Dining Plan

I was digging through my receipts and came across the "Special Dining Experiences"

Apparently we could have had "Private In-Room Dining" for two meal credits. I didn't know about that then but I doubt it exists today.

This was on the deluxe plan in 2010 before Le Cellier became a signature requiring 2 credits.
You can order in room dining at the Grand for the 2 credits. It's the only resort offering IRD.

The $57 is for 2 meals and a snack. There are some drinks that are over $15 alone, so you could get your money's worth with a bit of effort.
The poster you quoted notes select QS restaurants may count as 2 credits.

Posters say some restaurants cap the included drink at whatever Disney is giving the restaurant. A poster said the amount wasn't enough to get a margarita at Mx

Ah, would've been more obvious if they'd quoted the post about possible 2 credit QS.

I wish they had not bundled alcoholic drinks into the dining plan. It inflates Disney's cost by a few dollars, which, in turn, inflates the daily price of the plan by $10.

While the foodie 7 year old grand niece can easily eat $30 of food a day, I'm not sure that the adults can eat $100 a day in a QS and a TS. even including a mixed drink.
Especially since an "adult" is 10 and over. It seems that they are way overcharging for someone that can't even drink. The dining plan was never really a good deal, but this is crazy. Even if you buy an alcoholic drink, it still comes out cheaper to pay OOP. No amount of "convenience" is worth over paying so much. IMO

In 2019, La Cantina would only let us order the cheapest margarita on the menu with the DDP QS credit. So like, the regular frozen one but not the blood orange or whatever it was. If memory serves, my mom just shrugged and got a beer.

Good to know it is still available. Although if I'm at VGF I would rather go to Citricos for 2 credits :)

It used to be any deluxe or DVC.

Wasn't alcohol always included? When we went in 2019, it was included. So like at Woody's lunchbox I got an adult lemonade instead of a soda and it was included.
It was I just still find it annoying. If they were just to remove the alcohol option then they could have kept the price within a reasonable increase.

eh, but they wouldn't have. There is still so much that hasn't returned since COVID and none of the increases have been reasonable. Removing the alcohol option wouldn't make a difference. Just like removing a snack didn't. Or Magical Express didn't make anything cheaper.

I think you can get 2 alcoholic beverages with a 2 credit quick service. So I wonder if something like the butcher board for 2, listed as $44 at The Polite Pig might qualify.
You can get a whole pizza for 2QS credits and it comes with two drinks.

I disagree, alcohol in Disneyworld avg 12-18 which there probably using the high end of the scale. Taking that away "should" easily lower the per day price. Not that it wouldn't have gone up just the it "should" cut into the increase. I would rather have them add back in the snack and remove the alcohol. At the end of the day I view the dining plan as a pre paid tool not a cost saving one.

I just don't think it would matter if its included or not. People have proved they will pay the price. They could take it out and the price would remain exactly the same. Rooms didn't get cheaper when they took away ME or airline checkin. DVS dues didn't get cheaper when they got rid of that either. Tickets only increased in price even with fewer shows and character meets and no FP. Dining got more expensive even when there were fewer options and smaller quantities. Adding alcohol doesn't cost Disney much at all (regardless of how much they charge per drink) but it makes people feel they are getting a better value in the plan if they partake so more people will buy it. So yeah, it should lower the price by a couple dollars, but even if they got rid of it, it wouldn't get any cheaper.

The menu price is irrelevant to Disney. The relevant number is Disney's cost for the adult beverage. Liquor has a high markup. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the snacks cost Disney almost as much as a lot of the adulr drinks.

The cost of liquor used in mixed drinks is probably under a dollar.

Keeping the adult beverages adds more perceived value then reducing the price.by a dollar or two.

This isn't new though. Alcohol was included for a few years before the shut down and there was still the issue with kids being charged the same, but not being able to order it.

However, and I don't know if this will still be possible, but I also don't know how'd they'd police it if it wasn't.. The restaurant can't tell the difference between the kid's "Disney Adult" credits and the actual adult credits, and since one person can order for everyone or do a mobile order, you could technically use the kid's credit to order the drink and then an adult can actually drink it. So I guess it depends on if you are a drinker or not, but there are ways to still get the value. (Obviously this doesn't work at a TS since the kid is there ordering.)
