Well, actually, Tom did:
Yes, but under my revisionist history version, we get free trip. Care to reconsider your recollection?
I'm here...
Tom spends hours with you guys and tells me a lot of stuff that goes on. So in a way I am with you guys.
<Tom draftin' now... Alicia is distracted as she's looking over company mail and reports on her computer next to mine>
G'nite Paula... you have the dubious distinction of being the FIRST to chat with Alicia on this thread! Sweet dreams and watch out for the beddie bugs!
I agree 100%. DD5 was apparently awarded a trophy for soccer last fall -- and she didn't even play! (We signed her up late and there was a waiting list. We never paid any fees or had anyone call us until December when a coach called and said he had a trophy for her for being part of the soccer club.) We told him to keep it since she hadn't played.
I believe there should be competitive sports programs for kids and recreational sports programs. That's how my son's swim program is -- the summer program is recreational -- no cut, everyone swims every meet, everyone gets to swim in the end-of-season big meet. And then there is another program that is competitive. That way, everyone gets to play at the level they can.
Are you telling me that your last cruise thread only had to put up with you for 29 posts? Now how is that fair?971, now 972
A quick HELLO from Turks and Caicos!

Since we are discussing serious stuff for the moment.....NASA launches this Friday at 7:35 or so (unless it is scrubbed or postponed) but anyway one of the mission specialists on board is someone that went to high school with me in El Paso.....His name is Danny Olivas. So please keep those gentlemen in your prayers. I am especially nervous with this launch. I always get kind of queesy but I am really nervous for Danny. We are going to try and drive over. Every single time I have driven all the way there....they have scrubbed the launch.
I am typing EXACTLY what Alicia is saying...
Hello...
Sorry I didn't have much time to chat - it's been kinda busy. I'm sure it's been the same for all you gals too.
I don't know ... what do I say? I don't kno ... I don't kno...
<chuckling> have any of you guys looked into the Docker deal? (I have not told her of Paulas' & Got2travels' reply).
It looks like a pretty decent deal if it is what it looks like.
<she's washin' dishes and I'm chasing down things the kids need...>
HEY EVERYONE! Our plan to isolate Judy is working!!!!
Seriously, there is just a lot going on. It is hard for anyone to keep up! But it is like that in any cocktail party/group of friends/family - however you choose to view this thread!
Let's see Judy, no math for me, not going to Europe, no tatoo (until next Wed. ), and I have a libation or 2 in chat, but I bet I could pass a field sobriety test!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, this is the early morning weather report from Chicagoland. temperature now 55 going to a cloudy, rainy high of 64.
WOW I just living here . 1678 days (till retirement) and counting.
I always wanted to see a shuttle launch. I wanted to be an astronaut for awhile growing up (except I was "afraid of heights, speed, fire and small places").

I love that my 6-7 year old Little League has a single loss elimination tournament. 15 of 16 teams will get to feel what its like to lose the "big one".
Maybe that's cruel, but not all 200 of these kids will get to play high school ball or even upper levels in little league. I think its better to show them real life early (and get to make the point of "If you really want it, you need to work/apply yourself/practice").
The regular season was very laid back and instructional, now they get to play in "real" games.....
Hope I didn't crowd your soapbox.
So you are going to get it? What are you getting?
Hmm, most airfare costs you an arm and a leg...
and they are offering this if you buy PANTS?
Yes, but under my revisionist history version, we get free trip. Care to reconsider your recollection?
We can see it from our front yard across the lake too. I just really want to feel the real thing like the rumble of the earth.......They say that is an experience you never forget. I have found it is really easy to get the reserved tickets where they take you onto their property but there are no chairs and you have to go hours before the actual launch. and it takes hours to get back to your car afterwards.......sounds like fun with 3 children 10 and under doesn't it? I will settle for outside KFC.
I totally agree. My son who is 10 has suddenly decided he would really like to try softball. Well all the places that I have found, are the type of places where all the kids in the league have been playing since they were 4 and he would never get a great experience. Whatever happened to sports for fun not a career. I call it the Tiger Woods syndrome. Everyone is convinced that their child will be the next Tiger in their particular sport. We too did competitive swimming. All the parents would talk at about their 7 yo getting scholarships to college. I just thought it was so ridiculous. We just wanted exercise and fun.
woo hoo....you're finally going for the tat....
Hi Everyone!
Well.... I think I may be invisible, but I figured I'd stop by and wave goodbye
DS8 and I will fly down to WDW tomorrow. DH left on Sunday and is at the TechEd conference down there. I just about have stuff packed and decided to take a little break and check in here on the board.
I've totally given up on trying to "ketchup". When I have a little time I stop by and read the last 5-10 pages, but since that is usually only a couple times per week, I am missing TONS of stuff.
Of course, when we are at WDW it about the best I can do to keep up with email and I probably won't make it onto the DIS at all. If I get a chance, I'll hop on and say "hi" from there.
I usually have trouble sleeping the night before a trip. I also usually have trouble sleeping when DH is away. Sooooo, I may be back later tonight!

Did you guys hear about the 3 soldiers that were captured in Iraq and the video that was released that claims they were murdered? This hits close to home for us. The stepfather of Pvt. Byron W. Fouty, is a member of our choir at church. I have never met Byron but I know his stepdad from my years in the choir. Please keep this family in your prayers as well as the family of the other two boys.

Pamela-Can't wait to hear about your adventures. I sometimes feel invisible too. I think it is just that so much is going on and although people are interested they just do not respond. I know personally after reading numerous pages I forget what all I wanted to respond to........a good example is I have been meaning to tell Brack that I am so sorry that JoJo is not feeling well. I hope the aches and pains get better. ........I just honestly forgot. Sorry Brack!!!!!!
I think we all feel that way sometimes. Sometimes I feel like an outsider too. Sometimes I feel like I am going to seize when they start running formulas and numbers......Sometimes I even feel like I have got to be the only one not going to Europe. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one without a tattoo around here. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one sober at chat. Anyway my point is that I think we all feel like that from time to time.
I don't know what VMK is all about ... it's something I have to look into ...
Hi Mates -
I'm back from our trip - actually - its taken all day to ketchup - but if this was last March - it wouldn't have been 50 pages but 500 pages. Wow -see how much we've slowed. Although - these past 5 days seemed to be more lively?! ( I brought my laptop - but had no time - poor planning on my part huh!)
First - I tired to make notes as I skimmed - but I can't read my "shorthand".
I'm so tired - I'll try to make sense of it later.
Second - "Spamalot" was just a hoot!! I do want to see the NYC version though.
Most Importantly -Third - Mini- Meet w/Todd - our Captain! What can I say - those who already know Todd and family understand - for everyone else ----- Todd & Melissa are 2 of the most wonderful people I've ever met. Their son Destin is an amazing little boy. It is very obvious that he has incredible parents.
I'll share w/all of you - my DGS Matt has developmental delays - well Destin & Matt are the same age ( but Matt is 2 yrs. behind) - So - Destin, patiently played w/Matt - teaching him how to play a hand-held game. Destin is the reflection of wonderful parents.
Our Captain is a Great looking CJS - but more importantly he is simply a really great guy.
Now - I've got to turn in - driving to and from Las Vegas is quite a trek.
And life goes one - today was back to the grind!
