Bringing Home the Magic - Part 2 - 8/18/07 - 9/01/07- list of cruisers on page 1

I just want to say that I want to be back on the Magic. The 14 days just flew by. The positive side was meeting so many new people and seeing so many old (not age) friends. I tried to say hi to everyone no matter which side of the boards they were on. Many people are on more than one side. We all were on the cruise to have fun and I know we did. Our cabin steward was great. And my "sister" in the gift shop just added to our trip making it more special. Thank you everyone who made my mom feel so special.

Negative side - the amount of unsupervised kids running around and being rude. That is one thing that really surprised me. I would like to thank the people that left us gifts in our fish extender and I had heard that people were taking some gifts out, which is a shame people have to do it.

We just booked the 9/23/07 4 day Wonder and celebrate DD Lindsay's and my birthday. Laura, aren't you going to join us this year for a piece of birthday cake. :rotfl2:

Anyway, to quote my mom "This was the best vacation I ever had". Words just can't describe it.

Looking forward to cruising with you again.

Bev

Hi everyone,

Finally got home to UK - spent 3 days at the Beach Club after the cruise but both my husband and I were too tired to visit the parks - this was a first for us as we normally can't keep away. I blame the cruise, we enjoyed it so much.

The cruise was great - fantastic weather, made some good friends, took part in lots of acrtivities and still found time to spend quality time with daughters - what more could we ask for.

Hope everyone received the gifts we put in your fish extenders. Seems some of you had problems with "loosing" items. I gave out 50 of "things you might need" gifts from myself, Gismo1554 and Rikimuk, and also later in the cruise a personalised chocolate bar showing the route we took.
Here's a list of those rooms I gave gifts to - 1042,1044,1046,1076,2016,2024,2056,2058,2064,2079,2080,2135,2137,2138,2500,2502,2504,2635,5142,5518,6012,6037,6139,6148,6112,6114,6120,6122,6140,6142,6545,6568,6628,6643,6647,6654,7014,7136,7537,7570,7598,7600,7634,8030,8074,8100,8548,8560,8566,8582. (I am sorry but I could not leave the chocolate bars at rooms without fishextenders).
I would be interested in hearing how many of these gifts "disappeared", as if its a lot I would think twice about doing this on future cruises.

Sorry to see so few of us made it to the pirate picture - thanks Diana for taking the time to sort the photographer out for us.

I too found there was a lot more noise from older children this cruise, with them playing around in lifts and congregating on decks 4 and 3 in the early hours of the morning (1 or 2 am when my oldest daughter and myself always went for a walk around the ship). Even saw a group of yougsters one lunch time giving their server a headache, and on the last night one teenager was opening up the "unwanted picture" box in shutters and taking pictures away.
Looking at some of the ages who were hanging around I must be getting old as I would not have let my children be unsupervised at that time of night/morning.

Sorry we didn't get to meet many of you, time just seemed to fly by, and we were always rushing from one activity to the next.

Hope to meet you all again on future cruises.

:lmao:

No words for this one! Always in character!!! :rotfl2: Or should I say A character???

Hey, that is my DH in the background...wearing Mickey ears....Todd and Gang - you looked FAB!!!

Here is my picture of you with the Hannosmom group.....

and me and DH - not quite as spiffy but enjoying ourselves none the less....

edited to add - I was a little concerned about Deck one - Cat 9 but I have to say that we really enjoyed the location between the forward and mid ship elevators and the QUIET hallways - the few times I went to deck two hallway - it struck me as being a VERY busy location.
Wouldn't hesitate to do deck one again.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or offend anyone.

You guys have been of the ship for almost a week now. That’s more than enough time to rest, unpack, blah, blah, blah. Now, can you please get busy posting rest of the pictures???:thumbsup2

Bev, I really enjoyed meeting you and Lindsay. Especially, during our loooong walk from the top of the rock of Gibraltar to the bottom. Whenever I think of it my calves begin to ache.:rotfl: Hannah and I thought this was one of our best trips ever. I know our 7 night in Dec. is going to seem way to short.

We got both the useful items and the candy bar. And let me tell you the useful items came in handy. I had forgotten to bring anything to put my hair up under my wig on pirate night, so the rubber bands were much appreciated!

This is by no means a complete trip report (that's coming later and will be quite long....I tend to ramble a lot). But wanted to get some pics up since so many folks have been asking.

General Onboard Pictures

In Paris, waiting for the train to Barcelona
100_1379.jpg

My very first live view of the Magic. This was my first Disney cruise.
100_1386.jpg

Waiting to board in the Barcelona port.
100_1387.jpg

The only sunset I actually took time to catch. Can't even remember where we were, but I don't think we had left the Med. yet.
P1010230.jpg

Formal night at our table....sorry Chris, I guess I didn't get a picture of you that night
P1010109.jpg

P1010108.jpg

Looks like a lake huh? This is the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I couldn't believe how calm it was.
100_1590.jpg

At the Prince and Princess dinner. That's our Assistant Server, Geddings, hanging out with his princesses.
100_1583.jpg

Group Brunch at Palos
100_1599.jpg

The worst drink I have ever had, a Bloody Brain
100_1597.jpg

Arriving home in Port Canaveral
100_1732.jpg

My cheeseburger at the airport! I had been craving a rare, juicy cheeseburger. On the cruise, they would only cook them well done and dry as a bone. I joked that I was going to ask my friend to bring one to the airport when he picked me up. I asked for a home cooked one and ended up with a Nations burger, but it was still heaven.

Barcelona

Chocolate Museum
100_1398.jpg

They even love Disney films in Spain
100_1414.jpg

And our beloved castle - this was not actually in the museum while we were there, just a photo of it
100_1418.jpg

La Sagrada Familia
100_1435.jpg

100_1436.jpg

The end of our bicycle tour
100_1447.jpg

Gibraltar

Gathering for our tour
P1010117.jpg

The 'Rock' - little did I knew when I took this picutre that I'd actually walk the entire rock!
P1010122.jpg

The cable car up
P1010119.jpg

The Magic as seen from the top of the Rock
P1010126.jpg

Our friends at the top
P1010162.jpg

Cadiz

We did a DCL excursion to the Bee and Honey Museum...more of a bee farm than a museum.
100_1489.jpg

We donned real bee keeper suits and played with the bees.
100_1514.jpg

100_1504.jpg

The bees were everywhere, even on the lense of my camera
100_1519.jpg

The Magic in the port of Cadiz
100_1527.jpg

Went to Flamenco at La Cava that night
100_1534.jpg

100_1541.jpg

100_1560.jpg

Spanish Tapas during the show - Jambon=ham, Chicaronnes=crispy pork - at home this would have been fried pork rinds, but obviously different here. It looks like all fat, but it was actually quite tasty meat (at least I think it was meat, but it was good).
100_1551.jpg

Tenerife

The town as seen from the ship
P1010241.jpg

A cute market I found while wandering the streets
P1010250.jpg

P1010249.jpg

On the way up to Mt Teide....geez, thought I'd left the fog in San Francisco
P1010258.jpg

Further up the mountain, much of Star Wars Episode 4 (the very first one made) was filmed here
P1010270.jpg

Several observatories on the mountain. One of these is used to assist NASA when the space shuttles are exiting or entering the atmosphere.
P1010281.jpg

Last but certainly not least......

100_1623.jpg

Fun in the dining room
100_1612.jpg

100_1613.jpg

Chip....or is it Dale?...was quite fascinated with...yep, you guessed it...Captain Jack
100_1635.jpg

There be pirates lurking
100_1639.jpg

But look, Mickey's on his way to help
100_1631.jpg

100_1647.jpg
