"I could care less about Disney" she said.....until she went once!

Hey Pyrate!!! Dude, 13 POUNDS!!!?? You rock!!

I can't even believe that! Way to go!

Bummer on the potential move/ non-fixing the A/C problem. That stinks!!
Hope they can fix it- moving is a huge pain in the butt!

Its been crazy post op. Even though I have all the issues with pain and then the whole popping a scar issue I've been able to move alot better. I used to park on the couch and only move when I had to. It was hard to get up. The weight on top was too much for my 4 ft 11 frame. Im hoping that all of this hasnt been a fluke! I wanna be bangin' when I did The World in November!!!

Im used to moving. Military Brat! We actually want this unit to be condemned. Because it is a handicap unit it is only 1 floor. It is the smallest unit here in housing. Right around 1000 sq. ft.. Now that we don't need a handicap unit we are ready to ditch this place. There are so many other issues other than the a/c. We have all sorts of plumbing issues and the worst neighbors ever! We are really hoping for a garage. We dont have any outside storage so all of our stuff gets rusted and messed up.

13 pounds!! Now that deserves a DANCE!!

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

You're well on your way!!!!

Thanks! In a few months when I hit my goal I am totally going dancing! I would like to look good in a swim suit by next summer......There isnt enough time to make this summer my goal!

Day 3 started with rain rain and more rain! For the rest of our trip all were able to do was hop from park to park and try to dodge the rain! From this point on my Disney trip is a blur so I will breeze right through here.

Epcot~ I am totally in love with Epcot. We split the park into 2 days. I have to say that I love The World Showcase. Erics parents took the kids back to the hotel so we could enjoy it together. It was great. I am planning a night there without the kids for this trip. Soarin was great although I am bitter now because of it! When I sat in my seat I was just below the red line and they made me wear the kiddie crotch belt! Talk about embarassing! Did you guys know that in Norway they sell things related to Deadliest Catch? I am a huge Catch fan and was in love when I saw it all! I am planning on getting a Catch sweatshirt when we are there in November.

DHS~ I am a TSM FREAK now. That ride was so much fun. We never got to see the Indy show all the way through. Each time we tried they had to end early. We got to see Fantasmic and I must admit, I cried a little. I love the way they infused the water with movies and live action. We were in the center section about 1/2 way up. It was great. And OMG, ToT is to die for.........For some reason, Probably Faye....DHS was D E A D! DH and I rode back to back to back to back! We even got a great picture at the top when the doors open. It was amazing.

AK~ Not a fan, We are going to give it another try when we go back. I DO like Everest and KRR but the rest just seems "zoo-like" to me. Er didnt have much luck with the animals on the Safari. Even though it was first thing in the morning they just weren't out! Kind of a big bummer.

MK~ Love it!!!!!!!!! I loved Mikes Laugh Floor. I even texted a joke and they told it during the show....wanna hear it?!?!?! Ok Ill tell you, What do you get when you cross a cow and a duck??????

Milk and Quackers...hehehehe :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I am so totally laughing at myself right now. AJ was able to ride Dumbo with me which was a big deal. We were the only 2 that had never been on!

All in all, I was very impressed with WDW. There are things I would have changed in our situation but that 1 trip created a monster in me. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont think of how I can get there again. Ill post pics in my next post!

PS, laying outside on the hammock with the laptop.....not a good idea, Im pretty sure the temp just dropped to about 50 degrees and now I might be frozen to the hammock......Send Help!!!!!! lol

So we learned a few things from our 2008 trip.
#1~ Leave the in-laws at home. MIL was very pushy and with her being a "pro" we didnt get to enjoy some of the things we wanted. I would like to know that if we want to ditch the Safari we can! I don't enjoy being forced to do anything!

#2~ Get the DDP.......Us tubby people like to eat and eat and eat some more. We never did a TS meal because we were on such a tight budget. This time We have the plan and intend on trying new things.

#3~ Pack for everything. It may seem like summer but it may not feel like it!

#4~ Sleep when you can! If it means sleeping in a line then DO IT! WDW is exhausting

#5~ Take a few extra days off from work when you get home to relax!

#6~ Leave your attitudes at home! They arent needed!

#7~ Don't get frustrated when your over-heated, Over-tired 2 year old starts screaming like a banshee. Just take a few breaths and understand that its not easy being a kid!

and last but not least.......
#8~ No matter how many Theme parks you have been to in the past....WDW is NOT the same!

A few possible changes in our up coming trip. So far it's just us and my older sisters family that has booked. My mom and dad are still planning on coming but havent been able to book yet. We are still really hopeful though. Im not sure if we will still come if they don't. My brother has said that he doesnt want to come now that he and skankface have broken up. He doesnt think WDW is a place that he would enjoy. My youngest sister is still wanting to come but it depends on if she can come up with the money!!!

So far what we know is that we will be leaving home at Midnight on November 28th. Midnight is the goal time but we will see! We plan on driving through the night and arriving at Pop sometime between Noon and 4pm. (depending on when we leave). We will check in and head to DTD for a ressie at T-Rex. Rainforest was great but the kids are all into Dinosaurs so we will go there instead. The kids will enjoy the shopping spree that will happen! And for the rest of my family that has never been before this will be a great taste of what's to come!

We have to wait for the EMH's to be posted before we can figure out what days will be where. Also, Does anyone know when they are announced? We have to make our ADRs on June 1st. It would be nice to know EMH before that!

Has anyone done Spirit of Aloha? I've heard mixed reviews on it and i'm looking for more! My entire family is excited about it. We don't have any luau's here in Virginia!

13 POUNDS!!!!! Way to go! That's awesome!

I've got everything crossed in hopes that yall mmove and get the bigger unit.

November's hours should be out on May 1st. They release them 6 months ahead of time.

Never did Spirit of Aloha, so I can't help you there. Thanks for sharing the pics and summary of the last trip.

Congrats! You are my 2000th post!

Thanks, I keep telling Eric that 13 lbs is a big deal....he is super skinny so he doesnt understand!

So that means that Decembers hours will be out the same day we book our ADR's? Crazy!

2000th post! What prize do I get?!?!?!?!?! I wouldn't mind a free trip to LA for a Crawfish Boil!!! hint hint....lmao!

Im gonna start C25K as soon as this scar issue heals up. Im kinda upset that I havent been able to start yet! How are you doing with yours?

First off congrats on the 13 lbs :thumbsup2, that is a great accomplishment, keep up the good work!

Loved all your pictures from the past trip. I love the Florida blue sky it is a shame you didn't see it more on your trip. I like the list of things you learned from your trip. The best thing I learned was to just stop, breathe, and really look at the beauty of WDW. The fine details are amazing from the background music changing from one land to the next, to the flowers, to the theming it is simply amazing and I am in awe of it. I too am always thinking of how and when to get back. I just love it so much.

We really enjoyed it, it is cheesy, but really cute and the fire guy was amazing. I don't know if it would be boring for the kids or not.

Hahahaha So I am watching TV Land and the episode of Roseanne just came on where they went to Disney World. This has to be my favorite sitcom visit to the World.

What's yours? Most ABC shows have done a trip down. These are the ones I remember:

Step by Step
Full-House
Family Matters with Urkel
Roseanne
Boy Meets World
and Blossom (a fav of mine!)

Those are the ones I remember....Oh wait what about the Iconic Golden Girls.....How did I almost forget that?!?!?!?!?!

We didn't miss the Florida sky at all. We lived in Gulfport for a while growing up so we had already seen it! I do agree with the stop, breathe and look lesson. There are so many details I see on here that I hadnt had the chance to see the last time! I plan on relaxing (or at least slowing down) for some of this trip. We booked 9 nights with 7 day hoppers. We dont have to rush!

Thanks for your opinion on Aloha. As long as there is fire the boys will love it and Kat is at the age where boys are getting cute so Im sure she wont have a problem :scared1::scared1:

I love all the pics! That sky does look ugly....hopefully you won't see the clouds this time!

Your "what I've learned" list is fantastic! So true. :thumbsup2

Keep up the great work with the weight loss....13 pounds IS a big deal! You go girl....don't look back! :goodvibes

Sorry I've been MIA....We have had a busy couple of weeks. We are finally closer to getting AJ the help that he needs. He has had a few evaluations with the school so far. He still has a few more to go before we get the official diagnosis. They are thinking that he has Apraxia. YukiPhnx was kind enough to dumb it down for me:

Well, the simple answer is that he only has damage to his speech area, which is in the left hemisphere of his brain. With apraxia, it's also very close to the motor cortex, which is why he has trouble executing speech.

But he should be normal is every other aspect. The great thing about the brain is that damage to one part of it doesn't always have a bad effect on the other parts of the brain.

This is a disorder that's specific to the area of the brain that is needed to execute speech. But it doesn't affect his intelligence or his regular motor skills or anything.

I'm actually not sure how it happens with children, because I know apraxia is often the result of a stroke in an older person.

But because he is still very young and can start treatment early, his brain can actually start repairing any damage the apraxia might have done. A young person's brain usually compensates for its weaknesses if given the right training. For example, if a child is born blind, the part of his brain that is used for sight is usually very small and undeveloped, but the audio parts of his brain would be larger than a regular child without blindness.

You're very lucky you caught this early on. After a few years of therapy, it shouldn't be much of a problem for him later in life, because it's not that he doesn't know how to speak or can't, he just has a bit of trouble with it.

I also called our neurologist who says that if we get the "Official Diagnosis" of Apraxia that he will indeed be labled as having brain damage. I know this doesn't sound like a good thing but it really is. It will open more programs to us for special needs children. We also just found out that we are elegible (sp?) to collect his SSI which would help alot. I haven't been able to work since he was born because none of the daycares here have the right insurance to keep a child with the Skull issues that he has. It's been a tough 3.5 years.
With everything that is going on with the school they have to come do a surprise home evaluation. I have been getting rid of everything and working on decluttering my house for the past week. It has been crazy.

On to Disney talk......We just found out that a friend of ours's sister works at Epcot and she offered to get us tickets!!! Talk about a savings! If this pans out we might just upgrade to the Poly....that is my dream resort. I love all things Island related!!! We have also talked about renting an RV to save on the cost of the resort. We can rent one from the military about 45 minutes outside of Disney. We would drive our own vans down then rent one once we get there. Still unsure about this though, we are still looking into it.
Im going over to the Disney Store for the Earth Day celebration tomorrow. If you bring in 6 cans to recycle you get an Earthday hat. It just gives me an excuse to drive the 45 minutes over there. I want to check out a few shirts while im there and start getting the kids a few things.

We have another big thing coming up. Im not sure if I wrote about it yet. DH has to go to NCO academy in Montgomery Alabama this summer. He'll be gone for 6 weeks. We have decided that I am going to fly down to Montgomery and we are going to drive to Biloxi. He will have his car with him so its really no big deal. Right now the plan is that I will fly down on a Wednesday and stay in his room. I'll hang out while he is in class all day long. When he gets out of class on Friday we will load up and head South. We have some friends in Gulfport that can get us employee discounts at a few of the casinos down there. We plan to stay Friday and Saturday then head back to Montgomery on Sunday for him to be back at class on Monday. I will probably fly back out on Tuesday. There is a Disney Outlet down in Gulfport so I plan to attack that place like a rabid pomeranian! All this should take place in August so that speeds up my need to lose a few lbs. We will be seeing friends of mine that I havent seen in more than 10 years so I want to show off!

Thats it for now! Thanks for reading!!!
